Mike and an assistant took care of a long list repairs. Two large bay windows had peeling paint on the outside sills risking wood damage. Mike caulked, primed, and painted the two bay window sections, including matching a custom color paint no longer available. It looks great. He also replaced a section of dry wall in the master bath which had water damage by replacing the dry wall and tiling over the section with ceramic tile matching the shower. He replaced the hardware on two exterior doors, one where the dead bolt no longer matched the plate. He also replaced the water line from the sink to the refrigerator which had been leaking into the crawl space, and replaced an electric outlet. It took about 4 hours, including trips to the store for parts and paint. The quality of the work is outstanding. We have had Mike before and will definitely have him again.
Description of Work: Exterior window repair, water-damaged dry wall section replaced and tiled in master bath, leaking water line to refrigerator ice-maker replaced, and electric outlet replaced,

I've used Mike many times over the past 5 years. Allways prompt, professional and very fair. He also kept a eye on my house when I was away this winter. And we are planning more projects. If I have a problem, he'll come by even if I'm not home (has a key).

Mike and his son did a great job. In the kitchen they hung the hood centered exactly in the opening between the cabinets, hard wired the fan, attached the exhaust pipe and put the housing on the hood. They were very meticulous about their work and left no nicks, scratches or smudges on the wall or ceiling. The installation of the vent on the roof has not leaked and looks as though it was installed at the same time as the roof. We are very satisfied with Mike's work and will use him again.
Description of Work: Installed an exhaust hood for our cooktop. This included some electrical wiring and running the exhaust pipe through the roof.

I had a leak from the second floor bathroom and it was leaking water into the kitchen and kitchen cabinets. We couldn't isolate it, couldn't determine where it was. I had a plumber who came first. He did a nice job too, but we thought we had it pretty well isolated but we knew were going to have to take down all the cabinets in the kitchen and then fix the leak and then put all the cabinets back. It turned out to be not so much a plumbing problem, someone had put a trap of some sort to filter water and I don't know why there was a trap or filter on that line but over time it floods up and no water could go through it. It was from the upstairs bathtub. I was losing about two gallons a day coming down through the walls. We just didn't have an idea from where it was. It took three or four hours to figure out where it was. We just weren't prepared to go forward and have everything blown up until we knew exactly what we were doing. I think the way we approached it was very reasonable and I know Mike did a great job. I have not question of that. I thought he was very fair, he did very professional work and he worked quickly. I really don't have any complaints. It's hard to get good work. The one thing, I don't have a complaint with Mike, he can't help it, he's just so busy. It's hard to get an appointment with him. I waited and I'm glad I did, it was worth it. He did a good job. I would not worry about him at all in the house. I don't feel like I had to keep at him with what he was doing, whether he was doing something. I really did trust him that he was doing a good job and that he was doing a professional job and that was true. I just had a good experience. He was a good guy. I don't think he marked anything up, he put in some lights, he put in four overhanging lights, doing the kitchen doing the utility room and he repaired the water problem we had. We had to replace a lot of drywall too. He also repaired a whole in the drywall elsewhere. He had a whole list of things he did and he said that I had more work for him because while he was there there was a one or one and a half day project and I just found enough work to give him two days. I could probably give him another week or two weeks work things I want done. I just don't see anything the guy can't do. He is very creative in his approaches. He does a nice finished job. I'm happy.

Mike and his son worked really well together and were efficient. They didn't waste anytime getting things done. I know their reputation is good but I witnessed it first hand. I really felt they did good work and treated us very fairly. I would recommend them highly. I really think if we had gone with plumbers, door specialists, etc, this work would have been much more expensive. Good people.
Description of Work: Mike and his son were able to fix a spigot (that had frozen and cracked) that called for getting to the pipes (and replacing with new pipe) without damaging our drywall. This could have been much more costly but they were able to take down some wooden trim to get to the piping and restore it without damaging anything. They also replaced our garage access door which we were originally wanting to try fixing the old one. As it turns out, it needed replaced because of rotting and rusting. They went and picked up the new door for us and hauled away all the old door, frame, etc. They also repaired a window mechanism that we thought was shot and now it works fine. They also repaired window sills that had some rotting.

Mike and his son did a great job. Showed up on time, and got right to work. They were very professional and took pride in what they were doing for me. They even came back out a couple of weeks later when I started to hear some fan noise and fixed me right up quickly! They cleaned up everything like they weren't even there. I will definately use them again for items that need to be done around the house.
Description of Work: I needed to have better venting from my Attic. Called a roofer and he was concerned I needed it all but would do it. BUT would need to find my own electrician. Called Mike's for an estimate as well. They were concerned with cutting a hole in the roof and recommended a side power fan vent instead. They did all electrical, triming, and clean up.

Mike's crew (he and his son) arrived on time, were very professional and completed the work efficiently and quickly, with the final product very well done. Due to the nature of Mike's business and other clients, Mike had to schedule the work date to coincide with other small jobs in my local area which is completely understandable which is why the responsiveness category was graded a B. I have recommended this business to others and will continue to do so.
Description of Work: Mike's Handyman Service patched several holes in my drywall in both the ceiling and walls. This included the drywall prep for taping, taping and mud application. The ceiling hole textured surface was matched very will with the pre-existing ceiling pattern.

Our house was struck by lightening resulting in a small attic fire. Mike replaced the vinyl trim around the front of our home where it had been melted. he looked for trim that would match, but was unable to locate it. He did find something very close and we had the eintire front trim replaced. the results look great. We will definitely hire him in the future if we need a handyman. Some people have written that he is slow to respond. It did take him a day or so to respond to our voicemail, but he did return our call. he runs a small business, so you can't expect him to stop everything while is working for someone to make call backs.

Mike Davidson is the owner. We would recommend him to anyone and we already have. He is very professional for what he does. He and his son worked together and put liquid and laminate flooring for us and did some painting time around for us. They also put in doors for us before. When he was done with his job, it is cleaned up and there was no trash left around. He said that he was going to be at a place at a certain time, he will be there. He is very prompt and personally I feel that his charges are in line everybody else. He is really a very good person to have around and he will tell us right up front if he figures he can’t do something the way he can’t do they way he would do it for himself, he just won’t do it. We would probably get in touch with him to come over and wash our deck and re-stain it.

We had scheduled an appointment with Mike to give us a bid on our bathroom model for 8 a.m. My husband and I both arranged to be late for work so that we could talk with him. At 8:15, he hadn't shown up, so I called him. He apologized but said that he had lost all of my contact information, including my phone number and address and thus was unable to make our appointment. In the day and age of smart phones, I find this hard to understand. With a smartphone, it's easy enough to send yourself an email with appointment details so that they are not lost. Also, my phone number should have been stored in his call log, as we had just talked a couple of days ago. Disappointing

I had a laundry room in a rental house which apparently had a leak at the water supply line for some time. Enough time to cause a large part of the wall to get wet and moldy. I have used Mike's services before on other jobs so I called him to see when he could do this job. He is always very busy and that's the only problem in dealing with him, sometimes you have to wait a week or two before he can schedule the job. I think it is worth waiting for him if the job is not too time sensitive. He works with his son and another helper now so once he starts the job it gets done fast and is done right. Never had any complaints about a job that he has done.

They are always on time and are extremely dependable and honest with their estimates. Their charges are reasonable and I can't say enough about them. I have even let them work while we were on vacation several times; we came back to find the house clean and well taken care of with everything in place. I think a lot of both of the workers and they would be welcome here as friends. I found them on Angie's List and can't say enough about them. They are the only handyman company I will work with and I think the world of them. They were here working on a project once and my water heater blew up; they fixed it for me with no charge so they are good people.

I talked to Mike Davidson at the beginning of November seeking a quote for an attic ladder and basic flooring to finish my attic to be able to use it for storage. He came out a couple of days later to my house to review the work. It was a very casual process which might have made me nervous with someone else, but Mike comes across as a very straightforward, honest man. He verbally told me the cost of the attic ladder itself and about what he'd charge to put it in. He quoted the flooring and when I asked for 3/4 inch plywood instead, he didn't miss a beat with a new price for that. I added it my head and said, and quot;So around $745.00?and quot; and he agreed. I felt confident trusting him to stick with that figure. Again, normally I'd ask for a quote in writing but you'll see if you use him, that he is a no BS kind of guy. He told me he was running about 3 weeks out, so it would be toward the end of the month and I agreed. I talked to him a few days later by phone and inquired about putting in an attic fan to keep the attic cooler. He quoted the price for the unit itself and his cost to install it. When he told me he'd call in a few weeks to schedule the work, I honestly expected to have to be the one to call him, to hound him. Nope. On Monday, November 28 he called and asked if he could come out the morning of November 30. We agreed and he showed up on time. I didn't totally understand the attic fan and he explained that day that he'd have to remove part of the decorative vent window above my garage to install a grate (the grates would blow open when the attic fan turned on). This worried me, and I asked if it was going to be the color white that the grate was. He said if I had paint, he'd paint it for me, the same color as the house. I got out the paint and expressed concern that it might not be the exact color. He offered go to Lowes and have a quart of paint mixed up to match exactly. I greatly appreciated this extra effort. But I was really nervous leaving for work, wondering how bad the front of my house was going to look with this new grate installed. I couldn't even picture it. But again, I had total confidence in Mike, a man I had just met. Sure enough, when I got home from work, he had installed the grate, painted, it and it looked like it was part of the original construction. Flawless. The attic ladder was perfect, perfectly designed so the ladder extended the correct direction and landed on the garage floor with plenty of room to spare away from the wall shelves. I will try to post photos later so you can see what I mean. I used Angie's List to find Mike. Based on the number of reports he had and the consistent A grades he'd received, I decided he'd be the only one I contacted. I could not be happier with the outcome. I am probably happier about finding a handyman who I can count on and trust completely to do quality work and not rip me off. Using Mike has been my best experience ever using a contractor in the 10 years I have owned my home. I will absolutely use him again. I forgot to mention that his invoice was completely clear in the costs he charged me. Adding the attic fan added about $219 to the job, which I thought was exceptionally reasonable for the fan itself and labor, plus painting it, which he did not charge me for. To a less scrupulous person, this could have been the chance to really add to the cost of the project, since I had added on the attic fan after we talked the first time. The fact that he was so honest about the cost of this add-on when we talked and what ended up on the final invoice has again reinforced my trust in him as a contractor. He is the John Wayne of contractors!
Description of Work: Mike installed an attic access ladder in my garage as well as basic flooring to finish part of the attic space so I could use it for storage. He had to widen the access space in the ceiling to accommodate the standard size of the ladder, then he finished the trim work around the new opening. He also installed an attic fan and outside grate for the fan.

I would use Mike again for any home repair. I had a list of things that I wanted "fixed" and Mike could do them all and nothing looks "patched". Mike and his son worked in a professional manner, cleaned up everything, and asked me if either had any questions, or wanted me to check if work was okay before they moved to another project. Mike also had suggestions for improving what I wanted done in the kitchen that I had not thought of, which was one of the main reasons I chose Mike, after taking 4 estimates for the work. Mike was not the most expensive estimate, nor the least expensive estimate, but the one I chose from his taking time to listen to what I wanted done, and even giving me additional ideas and choices for updates.
Description of Work: Mike and his son helped us update our kitchen, laundry room, and bath with new lighting. They also did many jobs we needed such as repair drywall around 3 windows where water leaked (one window even involved repairing wall paper), replace door sweeps and thresh holds, paint interior and exterior of large gazebo, update bath room with new toilet, and painting where needed.

When the insurance adjuster came out to check the roof, he stated that Mike had done a good job at a good price for the roof repair. But, my roof had alot of hail damage, so the insurance company paid for a new roof. Yeah.
Description of Work: I noticed water seeping onto my living room plaster ceiling. I thought that it was a chimmney leak, and when Mike came out he actually found a hole in my roof from the bad winter. Mike's staff had to repair the hole in the roof from the wood up. They replaced the damaged tiles, and tried to match as best as possible to the existing tiles. No further leaks around the chimmney. Mike stated that I might need a new roof, and so I called my insurance company. Mike was extremely busy during this initial estimate, so it did take about a week to get the initial repairs done. The crew cleaned up after the repairs.
