Matheson Heating & Cooling

Mr. Matheson was reocommended by a acquaintance. I called and asked for a quote for a new heat pump as my old one was not working. He quoted me $2500 and although he did not offer financing, he tried to help me find financing. The day I got the check from the bank, his people came out and installed a unit. It worked fine that day. A couple of weeks later, it stopped working and he did not return my calls. The circuit breaker to which it is wired keeps tripping and will not reset. This has drug out. This winter, the heater part is not working, the emergency heat runs constantly and the heating bills are double what they should be. I even went to his house to ask him to come over to fix it. He does not call to set a time to come out and still does not return my calls.

I contacted my home buyer's warranty company for help when my ductwork filled with water during a recent storm. They forwarded my claim to Matheson Heating & Cooling and told him that I had an A/C problem. Obviously, this was not Matheson's fault. However, it took 4 days and 6 phone calls (as well as emails from the warranty company) before Brian called me about my problem. After playing phone tag for another few calls, finally I talked to him. As I suspected, my problem was outside his area of expertise, so not only was he unable to help me, I'd wasted days trying to contact him for absolutely no reason. I do not blame him for the warranty company's mistake in thinking that he could diagnose my problem - I DO blame him for the lack of professionalism in taking days to call back a potential client. If you want prompt response, I do not recommend this company.
