 + -1 moreJim was patient and professional, and did a great job of discovering the issue - a splice in the power wire that had gone bad. Since it wasn't feasible to run an entire new power wire to the outlet and I wanted to avoid another splice, he installed a second outlet where the splice would have been. He also discovered that the 1st outlet box was badly corroded and a hazard, and replaced it too. The whole job took about an hour. I would definitely recommend his work.

Highly experienced. Gave us a couple quotes for installing a garbage disposal and overhead light while he was here. Plan to rehire for quoted projects. Guarantees his work for 2 years. Highly recommend using this company!

Description of Work: I'm renovating my house so the electrical needed to be moved and upgraded. They installed a larger circuit breaker box added breakers for a new kitchen as well as moving/adding many outlets and lighting. Jim is the owner of the company and he does all the work himself. He arrived on time and was extremely patient with all of my last minute changes. I will definitely be calling him in the future for any of my electrical needs.

Description of Work: Our lawn care guys had accidentally cut our home's ground wire over the weekend. Duke Energy informed me it was a safety concern which must be addressed ASAP offering to fix the same day. Two days later it was still not fixed. After a frustrating maze of Duke automated phone system I was told this "was not their equipment" and we had to hire an outside electrician. I found J&B on Angie's list while at work, called and spoke with James, and he came out and fixed and even buried the ground wire for me within TWO HOURS of my phone call! Talk about amazing responsiveness! And I didn't even have to leave work. Thanks so much!! Now I can sleep soundly knowing the problem was handled and my family is safe.

Mr. Fox came out on 2/29/12 at the set time and in about three hours installed both fan and did clean up. Much to my satisfaction.

 + -1 moreI wanted a 220v outlet installed in my garage in order to use a compressor. I emailed Jim and literally within minutes he called me to inquire further on the work I wanted done. He came out, looked over the issue and we agreed he would return in a couple of days to do the job for an agreed price which would give me time to relocate some benches and tool boxes to accomodate the compressor. I had some of the materials needed and he knocked out the job within an hour when he came back out. Being new to the area, this is the kind of service I was looking for and any electrical issues will start with a call to Jand B.
Description of Work: installed a 220v outlet in the garage, along with a 220v 20 amp breaker in the box.

They were on time, well prepared and effective at doing their work.They took care of business and left every thing clean when done.I would hire Jand B Electric for any future work.
Description of Work: I had my old fuse 100 amp electrical change out to a new 100 amp breaker service. To do this J&B Electric had to move the light meter and move the service head to comply with code.

 + 1 moreEver thing went fine. When he first came out to see what I wanted, we thought of a loud noise system, but am we just moved the bedroom phone/answering machine. Whole service call lasted less than an hour but I needed an experienced someone who knew what he was doing. His first comment when he saw our old phone on the wall was "a rotary phone. I haven't seen one of those in years." He also increased the volume of the phone ring.
Description of Work: He moved my cordless phone base and answering machine from my bedroom to the kitchen so I would be better able to hear the phone ring and also see the flashing light and hear the beeps to let me know I have an incoming message since I am hearing impaired. Work involved tapping into the wall rotary phone wiring to connect up the transferred items to our phone service.

 + 4 moreExtremely smoothly. He looked at all areas, gave his recommendations for what would work, look the best, and be cost effective; and then went out and bought all materials and did the work. He was great- he was quick and efficient- did it all in a day- and left nothing at all for me to clean up when he was done. I will definitely use him again!!
Description of Work: Jim installed five new outlets, two in the hallway, one in the kitchen, and two in the bedroom. Also a dimmer switch in the master bath. He also installed two new 24" under cabinet lights in kitchen- modified the existing light switch so that they are on a separate switch there. He fixed paddle ceiling fan in living room, which I had managed to bust one of the outlets trying to remove a bulb; and replaced outside porch light, which was dated, and in the way of my new screen door, with a new recessed can light.
