I called several times, each time I called they took over my laptop, made some adjustments and claimed to have fixed the problem; however, printer was still not connected. The fourth technician I talked to took over my laptop and kept me on the line for five hours, making adjustment after adjustment and eventually, just disappeared and left me hanging on the line without the printer connected. I phone back and insisted on a refund of my $39.99 fee. When I received my VISA bill, there were five charges for $39.99 and no refund. After several calls to Geek Squad, I finally contacted my bank and disputed the charges to have them reversed.

We like their customer service. We like their employees very much. They are extremely helpful. We also like that fact that they carry a lot of various electronics, computer parts, iPods, you know all that stuff that we like. I never think the prices are quite as it should be. We think they are quite professional. That is one of their top points. I would continue to use them and I would recommend them also.

They did a very good job. They had it back to us within four days without having any troubles. We're on one of their plans where I just pay once a year and I can take my computer in four times a year to have it worked on or any electronics that we have. I can take in even my phone in. It doesn't have to be something that I've purchased from them. I would use them in the future.

They are good. We are going back to them to buy a new phone for my husband. They are very friendly and attentive. They look for the best product for us. We were going to buy a Cannon printer, but the sales person that helped us, persuaded us to buy an Axon printer, which we liked better.

They didn’t fix the TV and they never came back to fix it. They overcharged me when I bought a laptop from them. Their price was good. It’s a nice place to buy things. They explain things. They have always fixed things for my son. I would use them in the future.

Would not buy a computer there again as the warranty is useless.
Description of Work: I bought a computer from Best Buy a couple years back with a 3 year warranty. Each time I took my computer in (4 times over 2 years) to the Geek Squad for services, they would claim that the problem I told them about was not happening or that they fixed it and then another issue would arise. The members of the geek squad were rude and not helpful.

I took computer to their store to have virus removed and wanted the computer back with files as they were and everything set up the same as when I took it to them. When we go it back they had set everything back to the original factory settings and did not set up anything. I had to pay another computer company to come to my house and fix what the geek squad should have done. Best buy also charged me an additional $100.00 to back up the files but did not put them back on my computer. I will never use them again.

I bought a (Acer Aspire) 5735-4774 from Best Buy in Greenwood, IND in late December. The salesman Steve P told me that I needed to also purchase WEBROOT virus protection, as it was the "Best" on the market. He also said that I would need to have the Geek Squad do a "Performance Plus" on the computer which would include a "PC set and restore disk". I agreed to all of that and then he tried to sell me a "Warranty", which I declined because he had already told me how great the computer was! He also told me that the computer could be returned "within 30 days", as well as the Webroot Virus Protection for a "full refund" if I was not happy. I paid the 621.00 total, retuned picked up the computer. I then had a computer specialist come to my home to transfer ALL my things onto the new computer from I old computer. This specialist is not with Best Buy. I had to pay her 125.00 for the transfer. I began using the computer and was not happy with the 15.4 inch wide screen, as it distorts images due to the elongated screen. I called Best Buy, but they were of no help, so I wanted to return the Computer, but was told by MELVIN GOINS who told me he was the "Store Manager", that they is a FOURTEEN DAY RETURN POLICY! He also told me that he could not refund the WEBROOT virus protection because it had "Been opened"...LOL! HIS STORE OPENED IT, NOT ME. I had to install WEBROOT because it kept interferring with Pop ups etc..It was very annoying and really was a mess to deal with, This made no difference to MELVIN GOINS, of course. So MY advice friends, is to besure you are told the TRUTH, do not buy ANYTHING from Best Buy in Greenwood, IND. I know (I) never will, not even a CD. Also if you do buy a Computer, DO NOT buy anything wider than a 15.4 inch or your images will be distorted.

I took my computer to the Geek Squad at the Greenwood Best Buy because functions were slowing down and updates were taking too long using my dial-up system. After explaining the problem the Squad explained that it would take a day to perform the updates/cleanup. At near the close of business on the next day I stopped in for the computer. The work hadn't been started yet -- a wasted trip. They assured me it would take a day or two and told me they would call when complete. It actually took five business days for them to complete the work. The work seems to have been successful. Clearly they know what they are doing, but their punctuality and responsiveness leaves a lot to be desired.

They were very helpful and the price was excellent. It was a close-out item. I would not recommend paying the installation fee. That involves paying a middle man. There was an additional $65 dollar charge to cut a formica counter top. They told me that they would cut this for no charge, but the installer asked for the money. Best Buy refunded my money when I asked. It's cheaper to find an installer yourself. The black ceramic cook top is excellent. It's easy to clean.

Originally, I placed the order early in the month. Somehow that order was lost (it didn't appear in their computer but I had a pick-up receipt showing the order). So they placed the order again and told me to come back that weekend. I did and the item still was nowhere to be found. All-in-all, I had to make five trips to the store and I was getting VERY frustrated. But the electronics manager located the item at their Castleton store and made arrangements to have it delivered to their store by Christmas Eve. He turned a very frustrating situation into a great resolution and I had the gift ready for my son on Christmas morning!
Description of Work: I purchased a portable speaker system for a Sandisk media player as a Christmas gift for my son. If it weren't for the manager (I believe he was the manager of the electronics department), I wouldn't have received it before Christmas. He went out of his way to help me through a very frustrating experience!

My overall experience was one of frustration over the inflexibility of the Best Buy company. Their insensitive refusal to acknowlege their own failings for the sake of their $60 ''restocking fee.'' The camera was never taken out of the protective plastic wrapping. I merely broke the seal of the box, removed the camera and showed my wife that it was, indeed, a larger, inferior product compared to the one I already owned. Unscrupulous sales techniques should not be tolerated by the public.
Description of Work: My wife requested advice for the purchase of a video camera for Christmas gift for me. The saleperson alleged that video camera he sold her (Sony DCRHC210) was smaller, better, and had more features than the one I already owned (Canon Elura 40MC). When I opened the gift, the camera was larger, had fewer features, and had no still photo/flash card capability. The box was opened only to confirm size of the camera. It was never used. When returned for a refund, Best Buy's Customer Service retained 15% of purchase price ($60) because of a restocking fee found in fine print on back of receipt. Best Buy's saleperson misrepresented the camera, took advantage of my wife who did not know that much about videocameras. He also never informed my wife of a ''restocking fee.'' My wife trusted the salesperson, who either didn't know cameras either or who was unscrupulously interested only in making a sale.
