Never was able to communicate with the owner after his initial vist to the house. Neither he or his wife would answer my phone calls after he came to look at my cabinets. I called him a couple of times and I called his wife a couple of times and neither one ever answered and neither one ever called back so it has been impossible to do business with him. It is like he choses who he wants to do the job for and not you chose him for the job. He never gave me a chance to communicate with him after his visit to my home; I never heard back from them after I spoke to his wife about his pricing on the cabinets. That was the last interaction I had with them and I don't know why and you can't work with someone that won't communicate with you; so if you consider their business you may run into that problem.

We recently renovated our kitchen. We had hickory cabinets and wanted to go white. Jason and his team patiently explained the process and gave us several options. Their workmanship is brilliant.

Very well - they arrived on time and completed work within timeframe.

The work could not have gone any better. They picked up the cabinet fronts exactly when they told me. They were taken to the factory for refinishing. Lynne, Aaron and Jesse showed up exactly when expected. They explained what they would be doing and proceeded to work on the cabinets which couldn't be removed to the factory. They were each extremely professional, polite and hard working. I enjoyed every interaction with them. They cleaned up at the end of each day and did a lovely job of cleaning everything at the end of the project. They also made repairs to broken hinges, etc.They were done exactly when Mr Harris had promised me. Mr Harris even showed up at the end of the job. I could not have been happier with the results. The cabinets look and feel better than brand new. I am extremely satisfied and would/will definitely recommend them to anyone and would not hesitate to work with this team again.

We couldn't be more pleased. The guys did a wonderful job and completed the job in 5 days (the time they told us). They were very professional the entire time, were very courteous, respectful of our home, came when they said they would come, and sealed off the kitchen to minimize the amount of 'dust'. And Jason also was a pleasure to work with. He was always very responsive and very customer oriented. We have had so many bad experiences with contractors that we were actually surprised the job went as smoothly as it did and the cabinets look as beautiful as they do without having to redo several times. It did take several months to get on the schedule, but it was well worth the wait. We highly recommend Finish Alternatives.

This is one of the very best service providers I have ever worked with. They did a fantastic job, exceeding expectations. The craftsmanship is outstanding. I would very highly recommend them.

Everything went great. All the providers connected with this company were competent and very nice to work with. My finished kitchen looks beautiful. The pictures I have attached show pre-work and post.

They were very meticulous. They put in new shelving as well. My kitchen is brand new in its appearance.

I'm sorry there isn't a grade higher than "A" because I'd give them a higher grade. They did a fantastic job!! They came and removed the cabinet doors and drawer fronts for refinishing back at the factory. Next they built a plastic bubble around the work area in the kitchen and sanded and primed the cabinet frames. They re-sanded and re-primed before applying the lacquer finish coat. Lastly, they returned and installed the finished doors and drawers and put on new pulls. They were very neat and didn't disrupt our household. Great crew with a Great attitude and work ethic. Highly recommend Jason and his team to transform your cabinets. A pleasure to do business with.

We had our cabinets refinished a couple of years ago. We love them! They are beautiful and have held up well over time.

They are a class act. Everything was done with professionalism and expertise. They have the process down to a science. Even though I had a long wait, due to demand for their services, it was well worth the wait. Bob took plenty of time to explain the process and help me select the color. He even suggested several other small changes I had not even thought about. I am extremely happy with the result!

Everything went as described and on schedule. Bob and his associates were extremely professional and courteous. Bob went above and beyond by spending about an hour trying to smooth some new cabinetry joints that were not installed well by the carpenter. He also went to a store to get new hinges for a set of new cabinet doors so they would fit correctly, at no additional charge. Also, I made a mistake about a small section that I meant to have painted but forgot to tell him. He came back a painted that area again at no additional charge. I hope to have them come back to paint our bathroom cabinets. The cabinets look absolutely brand new and gorgeous. Best decision I could have made!

Well worth the wait! We contacted Bob in October for an estimate. He came to assess the project and gave us a thorough estimate (which was the exact price we were charged). He informed us there was a few month waiting list and he would contact us about a month before the start date to finalize the details. The entire process was incredible easy. We were able to leave everything in our cabinets and drawers and the team was only in our house a few days. The remainder of the work was finished offsite and the entire process took about two weeks. Communication throughout was great and we are extremely satisfied with the results. We priced new cabinets and by the time the labor of installation and removal was factored in this proved to be much more economical. People can't believe it is is the same kitchen. We highly recommend!

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! We have a brand new kitchen for a fraction of the cost. Bob from Finish Alternatives is the best contractor we've ever brought into our house. He's got amazing attention to detail and just takes care of the little things - like adding trim here and there to really enhance the look with out nickel and diming you over it. I know he's booked out a few months, but he is well worth the wait!

I had to wait about three months for the service, but it was well worth the wait. They came on time and cleaned up each day before they left. The work on the cabinets are beautiful!

The owner explained how his service differs from his competition and the warranty that he provides. He provided pictures of work he has done as well. We are considering his service for our kitchen upgrade.

Our cabinets are 22 years old and needed to be refreshed. The doors were had several dings and scrapes from use throughout the years. We contacted Bob Lyle at Finish Alternatives to discuss our job. He arranged a time for an on-site inspection and estimate. He arrived as scheduled, inspected the areas and gave us several alternatives. He provided a written estimate and a simple contract for which we signed. He also provided simple easy to understand instructions that told us what we had to remove from the rooms being remediated and how long we would lose the use of those areas during the process. We selected a color from the many samples he brought. We scheduled a time for the job and provided a small deposit. We had to reschedule a bit due to the harsh winter conditions this year but he was very good about contacting us and accommodating our schedule. The total job took 2-days on site to prepare and finish the cabinet bases. The surrounding areas were carefully protected and he even vented the paint fumes using a fan and exhaust tube so everything vented outside through a window. He took the doors with him to repair and refinish at his shop. We were asked to avoid using the refinished areas for about 24 hours while the finish cured. He returned about 1-week later to install the refinished doors and to address any small issues. Throughout the entire process Bob kept us informed and was very careful of our home and furnishings. Any mess was cleaned up and removed. He was very organized and communicated well. The finished product looks brand new. We are very pleased. I would highly recommend Finish Alternatives. They were easy to deal with, professional and consciences. We feel we got great value for the money we spent.

The vanity looks beautiful; people think that it is a new vanity! Bob is very professional throughout the entire process. He not only explained the process used to refinish the vanity at the time he provided the estimate, but even assisted me with ordering new hinges for the cabinet doors. Also, I liked the fact that he actually did the refinishing work himself. I will definitely use his services again when we remodel another one of our bathrooms.

Bob Lyle is the consumate professional. We were fortunate to read "Reclaiming your your cabinets" in the April 2012 issue of Angie's List magazine. We had struggled previuosly with the reality of buying all new cabinetry. Although it was difficult to imagine that our cabinets would have staying power by "merely" refinishing, we engaged Bob for an estimate/consultation, as we had nothing to lose. Bob brought a variety of samples and explained in depth the process from start to finish. We were also planning to install new countertops and backsplash, and Bob provided his learned advise regarding the sequencing of the various jobs on our list. It took Bob and his able assistant perhaps 3-4 days in our kitchen (much of the time was spent in meticulous preparation) and a few days in his own shop - where he refinished all the panels. Bob's itemized estimate was clear and thorough, just like his execution. Regardless of our question, big or small, Bob provided good answers. The job started and finished as planned. The job site was kept well-organized and clean from start to finish. There was no aspect of the engagement that was not totally professional and reliable. One does not meet craftsmen like Bob everyday. He has singular focus on his craft and although he strives to satisfies his customers (and does it very well), it appeared to me that Bob's primary motivation to do quality work and provide quality service is quite simply because of the pride he has in his work. I felt the job went without a hitch and the results were fabulous. It looks like a new bathroom and I could not be more pleased. The process of the premium finishes looks just like new cabinetry. Bob was extremely professional, straight forward, and helpful throughout the entire process. We had white thermofoil cabinetry that was beginning to peel and had been told by all retailers that we basically had to completely replace our cabinets. Surprisingly we were able to peel the thermofoil completely off the doors and drawers in nearly full sheets. Bob came out and informed us that the underlying board was MDF, and ideal for painted cabinetry. After providing us with a quote, Bob graciously painted a sample door to ensure we were comfortable with the work he was going to complete. This turned out to be very important for us as we were initially planning to just have Bob paint the doors and drawers. As you know it is virtually impossible to match paint identically, and after seeing the faint difference in certain lights we decided to have Bob paint the boxes as well. The blank panels and crown molding were suggestions from Bob that have really made a huge difference in transforming our kitchen. He did not push his services and was also willing to work within our budget which was very appreciated. Bob takes a great deal of pride in his work and has a wealth of experience in this arena. We will definitely be looking to work with Bob in the future for our painting/cabinetry needs.

I first saw Bob Lyle of Finish Alternatives at the Home Show at the Fairgrounds this past February. I made an appointment with him then to come and give me an estimate about painting my cabinets. He was on time and was very professional. He took notes and really inspected my cabinets closely to make sure that he could do work on them that he could guarantee. I received an estimate in a timely fashion a few days later. I decided that if I were to have him do work in my kitchen that I would want to have the cabinet doors replaced not just painted so he came a second time to measure for that and to measure for cabinet inserts that would make accessing anything in my cabinets more easily. These included a lazy susan cabinet, pull out drawers for pots and pans, etc. Although it took him a while to get this very detailed estimate back to me, I was in no hurry. The estimate is very thorough. Mr. Lyle encouraged me to pursue other alternatives so that I would really have all options on the table. I really appreciated that about him. I won't be making a decision about my kitchen cabinets for several months but I will seriously consider having Mr. Lyle do the work.

They did a very good job. Every aspect of the job was good. There was a lot of work involved. They weren't the only ones I found that could do the job. They used the right paint. Their estimate was higher than another estimate, but they did great work.
