They did a really nice job. The quality of the workmanship was very good. He came up with the design idea based on what he thought we wanted. We were very happy with him. He did a good job cleaning up after himself, picking up the pieces of wood that were lying around. He was very timely. He had some injuries, so he wasn't able to get started immediately. Once the job started, they were very good about coming on time.

We didn?t use them this time but they did a great job on our deck. They are very conscientious and professional. We would use them again if we have a need for them.

They did a great job, paid attention to detail, and they were easy to schedule with.

Everything went well from the estimate to the finished screened room. Ralph, the owner of Deckmasters, went out of his way to attend to the details that make the room especially beautiful!!

Ralph came out and gave us a quote. He is such a nice man and he had a lot of good ideas and knew what we were looking for. His pricing was very resonable. His detail work was a lot better than some of the other companys we got quotes from. We ended up going with Ralph because we trusted him and felt very comfortable with him. We got scheduled and they came out when they said they would. They were on time and very professional. We bought the extra trim package for the sides that really made this pergola stand out. After they had the posts set, we realized we actually wanted it bigger. They were very helpful and pulled posts out and moved them around. Ralph helped minimize the cost for us. After they were done, we decided to get a wood floor put in also. They came back out in about a week and finished it all up. Everyone who has seen the pergola and floor can't say enough how amazing their work is. They really know what they are doing. I can't say enough how wonderful they were!!!!

The experience was great. He came in and talked to us all the time. He cleaned up everything. He did the job in an efficient, timely manner. The deck continues to look good.

The deck that Ralph designed and built covers the whole back side of our house and it is beautiful. It has taken me this long to rate him, but no matter. The design, work, timeliness, everything was impeccable. He has been the best contractor we have ever worked with across any category bar none. Excellent. Ralph was excellent to work with. Very professional, showed up when scheduled and the work was done on the timetable we outlined. The deck is beautiful and Ralph designed it. It is the focal point of our backyard.

Ralph promptly replied to my e-mail and came out to learn what I wanted and replied with two proposals for my consideration. We agreed on a deck which he designed and as soon as he finished two other jobs and the weather broke he began and promptly finished it as the weather permitted. I was thrilled how it turned out and the quality was top notch. He applied some finishing touches I hadn't expected. Later I noticed one of the deck boards "I" wasn't happy with and he so graciously replaced it. Ralph is a man of integrity and will go out of his way to please. I have a beautiful new deck and all those who see it are quite impressed. Kudos to Ralph and his crewl.

Ralph went above and beyond in ensuring that he met all my needs in the job. He was very detail-oriented and gave me suggestions that I, as a customer, would never have thought of.

I contacted Ralph Ford of Deckmaster due to the recommendation of a friend for whom he had done work and because of a favorable listing in Angie's List. He came to my home and listened to what I wanted. He then made some suggestions as to construction methods and materials. On the first visit he was able to tell me what the project would cost. He then followed up by sending a formal quote and three additional proposals for decks of different designs and features. Once we had agreed on design and price, Mr. Ford was prompt and began the work the following week. He delivered the material on a Monday afternoon and began work on Tuesday morning, as promised. All the work was performed by Mr. Ford and his helper, Scott. They were rained out one half day on Thursday and finished the job on Friday afternoon. During the course of the construction we made a small change in the original design. Ralph was able to quote us the additional cost without delay. We were very pleased with Mr. Ford's professionalism and workmanship. We would recommend him to anyone needing similar work.

Ralph started and finished as promised. He also took responsibility for breakage of a glass panel in our porch. He saw to it that it was replaced at his own expense. He is a man you can trust and has developed an expertise in excellent deck building from his almost 20 yrs. of experience. We highly recommend him.

Ralph Ford was very responsive to any questions we had, and he was very patient with us as we went through the decision process of trying to decide between wood or composite materials, nails or hidden fasteners etc. He actually helped us by providing several websites but didn't pressure us in any way. He always kept us informed of the status and let us know if he wasn't going to be coming out due to the rain; if he said he was going to be here, he was here. He and the person helping him on the job were always very professional and always cleaned up after themselves. Not once did I feel I needed to pick up after they had left. We would highly recommend Ralph Ford Deckmasters to anyone.

We had to adjust our work date a time or two but that was weather related and couldn't be helped. Ralph came on a Friday and set the posts and returned on Saturday to build. The deck was completed in a few hours and the quality of his carpentry is excellent. I was very impressed with his skill and would recommend his services highly.

We were very satisfied with all of the work. He told us that once he started on our project he wouldn't go to another job until ours was completely done. He and his help were here at all times and were very pleased with the whole process. The house looks twice a good with this new deck. He used 6x6 posts and the entire deck is built to be very sturdy. When we go by other decks we can tell ours was built more sturdy than most. We got great quality for a great price.

He was always on time, and extremely responsive to questions or concerns. He discussed the materials, amount of time involved and the cost ahead of time so that there were no surprises. He actually finished ahead of schedule. His work is perfect!! We have some family members in construction, and they were very pleased with the quality of his work. He is the best contractor I have ever worked with and would recommend him to anyone.

What I did was call 5 companies that had "A" ratings with the honors star listed on the Angies List web site and scheduled each to come out to the house and bid on the job (which was to demolish and remove very worn out deck and rotted privacy fence). One contractor declined to take part in the bidding. My wife and I knew we wanted another deck and partial privacy fence, but thought is best to let contractor give a presentation on the design they thought would be best for our backyard and house. I wasn't necessarily looking for the cheapest price; just the best design at what I thought would be a reasonable and fair price. Prices ranged from $3,540 to about $5,500 for the job. Ralph Ford's presentation was excellent. His idea for what we needed was right on, and he came across as a very skillful "artist" who had a good old fashion work effort with integrity and honesty that can sometimes be hard to find in this day and age. DeckMasters started the job the very next week after they got the bid, and finished within about 3 days (4 if you count the demolition and removal). I was out of the state when they started and finished the work, and didn't get home to view the completed work until the following week. My wife had already paid Ralph by the time I got back. I only noticed 3 flaws: one of the fence boards had a hole through it (maybe where a knot had fallen out, one piece of the deck hand rail had a piece cut out (looked like somebody had a slight slip with a jig saw), and a deck post had 3 cracks in it. I called Ralph and told him what I saw. He came out himself and fixed replaced the fence board and replaced the piece of rail. He told the other posts would eventually do what the one had done (develop cracks which is the nature of deck posts and the type of wood used), and we agreed I should try wood putty and sanding first after I stained the deck and that is what I did (well, I actually paid my daughter to stain it). He recommended a tinted water repellant sealant (even gave a brand name to use. The rest of the agreement with Ralph was that if the other posts didn't develop a few cracks by the end of September, or if after using putty and sanding I still didn't like it, then call and he would come out and replace the offending post at no cost. That post still catches my eye after putting and sanding and staining, but I'm going to wait until October.

Ralph was just great. Very low key and friendly. Told us what we needed and didn't try to sell us a new deck. He also came up with a creative solution to accessing the roof under the deck and saved us literally 1000's of dollars! When it is time to replace the deck we'll give him a call!

The entire process was better than we had imagined. Ralph Ford is very skilled and quite well tuned to client needs even when we don't know ourselves. His recommendations were exatlly what we wanted. We have already planned additional deck expansion for him.

From planning to design to execution, Ralph was the very best. We've done many projects, including a rennovation of an historic building in downtown Indinanpois and an office building in BroadRipple. Ralph was a delight to work with and was totally professsional.

I was amazed that only two people did the job. They were very efficient. The job was done with in a week. They called me back when I needed them. They gave me an option of seven plans for the new deck. I was able to give my feedback in regards to the final plan. He was always open to suggestions. The final result was excellent. After that was completed, I had a set of steps that was supposed to be done with a landscaper. Instead, this company did the work with his lumber and it turned out very well.

The contractor was helpful during the selection process. He was prompt for all appointments and completed the work quickly. We did have to call him back twice to replace warped decking and rails. He responded quickly and seemed willing to make the adjustments we asked for. We are happy with the workmanship.

Ralph came out to discuss the project and provide a quote. He was on-time for the first meeting and told us up front that he was it would take 2 months to get to our project. He started the project exactly at the time he said and finished it a little earlier than promised. He went far above the call by using some of the existing support beams, plus adding the ones he said he would, and this resulted in the most stable dock I have ever been on. He ran into a problem with the first stair design but we came to an agreeable alternative and he completed the work without delay. I have contracted a lot of people to do work on a variety of homes I have owned, and this experience, plus the end result were the best I have experienced. Thanks Ralph!

He was our second bid and the deck he wanted to do was much more interesting more elaborate, which is what we were impressed by. I think it was even half the price. He came and explained what he was going to do and we just loved everything he said. We were going on vacation, so he worked around our schedule. He and his workers were very professional and courteous. It only took them a week to build the deck. We have had some friends that were very impressed by what he did.
