A home run! Ralph Ford is a first-rate contractor and his patience with his clientele just might qualify him for sainthood. All our questions were answered and Ralph's proposed modifications were generally right on target and usually adopted into the finished product. And through it all, we managed to stay within our budget. We enjoy the new deck as much today as we did at completion. This review is being written three years late because I thought I had already done it until I received a reminder from Angie's List.

This project entailed the complete removal of an existing 640sq ft of treated decking, which included removal of all posts and support structures. Then the installation of a new deck, from the ground up, of the size of 440 sq ft with treated lumber. I contacted Ralph, at Deckmasters, to schedule his coming onsite for review and estimate. Ralph worked with my busy schedule and arrived on time and was very attendtive to what i wanted and was very professional and agreed to work up a couple designs and get them back to me. Ralph had those designs back to me very quickly and then worked with me on some changes that my wife and I wanted and then produced a final plan reflecting exactly what we wanted. Ralph and his staff began work very shortly thereafter. His staff showed up on time everyday and even worked in some inclement weather conditions where I would not have expected them to work. They were always courteous and professional, and they always stopped what they were doing to answer any questions that I may have had. My wife and I are extremely pleased with the end product. Their attention to detail was second to none. The quality and professionalism of their work was as advertised and more. I would highly recommend Ralph and Deckmasters to anyone contemplating a build, or rebuild, of a deck.

We were happy with their work. The building date we chose was too late in the year to dry the wood and stain the deck. We havent had an opportunity to use it, and therefore find any un obvious problems. However, it looks very, very good. They kept us informed, were punctual, and friendly. Their work was completed within the date range they gave. It was really hot during that time, so kudos to them for perservering. I only have one complaint, and it is really my fault. They set up their "station" in the grass adjacent to the area where they planned to work. I didn't think about it at the time, but 7 days of heavy equipment on already draught strained grass killed it. I now have to replant that area.

Ralph did a terrific job. He is very patient. Listened to all our requirements and then came up with a couple of designs based on our prior drawn idea of how we wanted our deck to look like. He is a very efficient worker and does a great job with deck building. Ralphs is very knowledgeable with his work and I would definitely recommend him to anyone that is interested in building a new deck or maintain an existing deck.

Ralph met with me several times, took measurements and presented different drawings of deck possibilities. He suggested improvements and quickly rendered changes. Ralph knows decks! His team is professional and hard working and worked here under very difficult conditions, no rain for months, temperatures in the 90's and 100's, yet they did a wonderful job. I would definitely hire them again. They are professional deck contractors!

We contacted Ralph in July. He had jobs ahead of us so it took until October for our deck to be built. His crew was extremely efficient and cleaned up after. Everything was custom made on the spot. We asked for extra shade for the pergola and that was not a problem. Also, we asked for the ends of the pergola to be decorative and they were cut out by hand by one of the crew. They look perfect. Ralph was here every day just checking on the progress and bringing materials. When the deck was finished we had a couple of things that we had concerns about and Ralph fixed them on the spot. The process was finished in 4 days.

The job went well from start to finish and Ralph kept the job site neat, safe and organized. The job was finished in a timely and professional manner.

Andy provides terrific service. He was punctual for the quote. His quote was fair and was the most competitive of several that I obtained. The initial quote included concealed fasteners for the deck, which added approximately $400 in cost to the project. However, the crew did not use this system. Additionally, the initial quote did not include the structural reinforcement. When I pointed this out to Andy he apologized profusely for the concealed fasteners and immediately took the $400 out of the contract and there was no additional cost for the structural work, which could not have been inexpensive (six 6x6 reinforcement beams). This level of service and quality is rarely seen nowadays. I would gladly use Deckworks again and recommend them highly.

They did a really good job. The price was high, but the work was very successful and he guarantees his work. He is a hard worker. The result was excellent. The water beaded up on it when it rained which means the rain didn't soak in.

Ralph Ford was prompt to respond to our request for a quote. He was professional and communicated his proposal well. He had photos of prior projects to give us an idea of what the finished product would look like. He used quality materials and his workmen were courteous and professional. They did a great job. The owner gave me three drawing choose from. If I needed to adjust anything, he could tell the the cost involved or saved. Quality, materials, workmanship were all first rate. They were very punctual & kept there appointments. He was very easy to work.

Very responsive to our wishesl. Made excellent suggestions for improved quality and reduced cost for the design we proposed. Workmen were courteous and professional during all phases of construction. Owner imspected final product with us and made all requested corrections (which were few).

Work was started as scheduled and completed in an appropriate amount of time. The new deck is constructed stronger than the prior deck. They cleaned up the work area - left it better than they found .Clearly would include them for any other project similar to this.

When he came out and was giving me estimates it was actually more than what I intended to spend. He suggested that I make the porch larger than what I had originally planned. I went along with his ideas since he sounded very knowledgeable. He told me I would be very happy once it was done because it would look like it was built with the house instead of added on. He was absolutely right. It looks like it was built at the same time that the house was built. I have had more complements on my porch than anything.

Everything went well. Ralph responded quickly to my request for a quote. He called me to check some details and he told me he would work my job in when he had a lull between bigger jobs. He did work it in and met me the morning of the job per my request so i could verify what would be done and point out a couple things. He took time to advise me on when and how to seal the deck as well. His employee who actually built the deck did a good job. .It looks really nice. The wood is high quality with only a couple small knots. It was very refreshing to work with a professional, conscientious contractor. Kudos to Ralph.

If you had a grade higher than A+, Ralph Ford at Deckmasters would deserve it. From the initial telephone call and throughout the entire process, he was as professional as they come. He provided me with three designs at three price levals. His work and the materials he used were of the highest quality. The deck turned out to be even better than I had imagined. Great work Deckmasters!

His name was Ralph. I liked him really well but it was too high. He was really great and I liked his drawings and everything but we found a builder that could build a bigger deck for less money. We tried six different ones and a couple didn't get back to us at all. The majority of them charged too much per square foot. We are getting a covered deck with an overhang and some of them didn't do that. Ralph was actually the only one that came out. He gave me absolutely beautiful drawings of designs that would fit our yard but it was too much and it was a smaller entertainment area. The guy I have now is doing double the area. He said it was going to be six weeks out before he could start so it would have been late August or September. He did three different designs ranging from $9,000-10,900. I loved his designs. He doesn't use a computer and he did them all by hand. It was really pretty and I could tell he took time doing them. We didn't want to wait that long and we were about to get twice the amount of deck. I can't be in the sun so it was a hot tub and a shelter. He did one with a gazebo. Another one was a lodge that would have been 340 square feet. He was polite and very businesslike. He seemed to know what he was talking about. I'm sure the quality of work was great but it was over our budget. He was great to come and sit with us and go into detail. It did take three weeks to get the designs. There were times when it took him a while to get back to us because he was busy. He was here right on time.

We loved our pergola. He was very detailed. He did a great job with his craftmanship. I would use his services again in the future.

They did a very good job consulting with us and talking about the various products we can use for our deck. They were very consultative in terms of designs and in things that we wanted to do and provided some feedback. Overall I thought that on the job like to show on time and all I was well pleased.

They were just very accommodating and eager to please. They worked well with me and we had a pleasant experience. I went with them because of their likability and price. I felt like they knew it and that they would do the job for me. I did have a problem that I've thought about having them back out and check on for me.

Mr. Ralph came out to meet with us to discuss the screen and porch. He took a lot of notes and made a nice design. He said that he was running a little bit behind and so, he would have our plan in about a week. He contacted us after a week and said that he felt that the permits were too expensive for him to do the work. He declined to bid on the job. He decided that it was not worth his efforts. He was a great guy. He was very nice and we appreciated that he was very honest to tell that he was not interested in doing the work. We would probably not use him again in the future because he did not want to pay for the permit.

Ralph Ford has excellent customer service! This was a great experience. Deckmasters was extremely competitive in pricing and did beautiful work. We were offered premium wood at a fraction of the cost since it was on sale and we took it, but we only knew of the sale because Ralph thought to let us know before work began. He was also able to squeeze in our project (14x20 deck with railing and steps) sooner than anyone else. Our deck was done in 2 days! Very professional people and beautiful work, I am absolutely pleased with our deck! The railing is very strong and I have no doubt will withstand whatever flower boxes I put on them! He added an extra touch by using extra wood to close up the underneath of the deck! I couldn't ask for more quality, professionalism, or better customer service from anyone. I shopped around quite a bit but I know now only to use Deckmasters for any other decking needs that we may have! High quality work done very quickly! They were superb and very conscientious. The price was right and this is the second deck he's built for us. I'm very happy with them.

The project started with the removal of the existing planks and rails and then continued with the rebuilding our new deck. The crew was very efficient and professional, always arriving early and cleaning up the mess at the end of the day. I needed one plan change toward the end of the project, and Ralph was very accomodating with my request. I feel that the price was very fair for what we had done, and Ralph was very easy to work with. I would definitely use DeckMasters in the future and highly recommend them to anyone needing to have deck work done. We are thrilled with how it all turned out.
