D & M Concrete

Doug and his crew are very, very professional and did an amazing job. We will certainly have them back next year when my wife and I start considering having a backyard pool and patio put in. Doug has been in the concrete business for a very long time and in my opinion, has a great eye for details and quality. They came out to our house a couple of times to measure, give quote and discuss the best course of action with my wife and I so that we were comfortable with the decision. Unfortunately our new house and community is sub-contracted with another concrete company in Greenwood. I really wished we could have known or changed concrete contractors. I really would have hoped to have D&M Concrete do the entire driveway and sidewalk and walk up to the front door.

Doug came a couple days before the pouring to tear out a little concrete pad I had before and hauled it away. Came back and poured the patio with him and a crew of about 4. Sealed the patio. They were in and out in one day! Very pleased with the results.

Doug came out in the beginning of April to give us an estimate. The estimate was very reasonable for the amount of work to be done, so we told him that we would like to be placed on his work list. He said that it would be the end of May or first of June before he could do the work as I would be placed in line with his already scheduled jobs. We were not in a hurry, so that worked perfectly. Due to all of the rain we had in May, it pushed back our work time, but Janet, his office manager, kept in touch with us to let us know a new approximate date. The work was started on June 20th and completed on June 24th. Removing the front porch and front steps proved to be a much bigger job than originally planned, but he tackled it with no complaints and did not charge extra for the amount of work it took. Some of the bricks on the house came off while removing the front porch, but they were repaired before he said the job was completed. Doug was here every day working side by side with his two man crew. They measured, remeasured and he made sure things were just the way they needed to be and the way he wanted them. He is meticulous in his work and expects the same from his employees. They cleaned up after themselves and were very polite. I would recommend Doug and his crew for any concrete job you need to have done. Janet, his office manager, was very sweet and stayed in touch with me constantly. She never failed to answer my questions or pass a message on to Doug. Overall...it was an excellent experience and I highly recommend them!

The guys at D&M Concrete were prompt, professional and were a pleasure to deal with. They took great care not to disturb our landscaping any more than necessary and made sure the job site was left better than they found it. Our communication was though phone calls and emails and all calls and emails were handled in a timely manner and all questions were answered with clear and direct answers. The final price even came in under the original estimate due to something not seen until construction began. Unless D&M had pointed this out they could have not said anything and I would not have been any wiser to the difference. Their honesty and professionalism in this regard really showed me I had made the right choice in who I had do my concrete work. Our porch and garage apron turned out fantastic and looks better than the originals they replaced. I am incredibly happy with the finished result and D&M Concrete exceeded my expectations. I will not hesitate to suggest D&M Concrete for any concrete repair and pouring for friends and family and will definitely use them again should I need to do so.

I had no problems with them at all. I was here the whole day to watch them to do the job and they did a great job. I would use them again.

They were kind, funny and very knowledgeable. They made concrete look nice. It has a border and swirl pattern at no extra charge. Will have them back to do driveway.

Very pleased with the result, timeliness, and price. Doug is well experienced in concrete and does all the jobs personally. He visited in the fall and gave an estimate, answering all our questions and making us feel comfortable. We wanted a decorative Patio but wasn't exactly sure what to do. We had them pour the job in the Spring. There was no issue or extra charge to do rounded corners and a small curve. They troweled the edges and the expansion joints after smoothing the entire surface, then the concrete was rolled with a slate pattern that indented it. They ordered color concrete (Cinnamon) which we picked out and then applied a gray powder to create a "two toned" color. The next day they power washed the powder off with it just remaining in the indention of the concrete. After the sealer was applied the gray turned dark (black) which helps the pattern to pop out. A crew of three, including Doug, came about 9am and had the site prepared by 1pm when the concrete arrived. They had dug a few inches with a BobCat to level the area, installed 2x4s and molds on the perimeter, then placed crushed stone as a base. They brought in some kind of motorized cart to get the concrete from the street to the back patio area. Job took two days and they returned to seal it on the third. Overall extremely pleased with the work and the final results. Would definitely use them again and recommend to others.

D&M Concrete was able to squeeze me in at the end of the season. They had a busy summer/fall and weren't sure I would fit into their schedule, but when I followed up with them, they put me on the schedule. Concrete pad was installed over a couple of days and looks great as an extension of my driveway. It will be great for basketball and riding bikes. Quality is great and the price was the most competitive.

They did a great job, took a few days and called to get them to come back and take the form/support down. But overall, they were very professional and l love the new porch. I would recommend them and use them again.

The contractor went far and above want was asked. I plan to give this company two more jobs in Spring of 2015.

They were punctual, professional, courteous. Fair price, quality work. He kept his word.

Work was performed in a very timely fashion. All workers were very respectful of property. Work was very prefessionally done.

On July 30th. 2013 D&M Concrete tore out our old driveway and installed a new one, he did this in two separate pours, doing the flat part first and the steep part last, we had the flat part poured thicker as we drive trucks and thought that would be more durable. Doug Rees owner of D&M concrete agreed and later told us that our driveway should last us 30 years. As we all know we had a bad winter with lots of snow, when the snow melted and we seen our driveway we could not believe our eyes, the flat part of our driveway looks like crumb cake it is scaling and flaking off, you touch it with your foot and it just flakes off. We have tried many times to get Doug Rees to come out and look at our problem but he will not and he also will not return any of our calls, the only way to contact Doug is through his girlfriend via e-mail. Janet Caraboa (Doug's Girlfriend) said that Doug did come out and look at our driveway but when I ask her when she could not give me a date. I told her we could not locate Doug being here on our video surveillance and she had no explanation for that. As of today we still have not heard from Doug Rees, we are very disappointed and just want to get our driveway fixed. Shelby Concrete stopped by to look at my driveway and told me that they are having a lot of problems with D&M Concrete and said that my problem was most definitely caused from poor installation. We also have a witness, that seen D&M Concrete spraying water on the flat area (1st. pour), many contractors said that is why it is scaling, drying before finishing work was completed. Shelby Concrete stated that salt dripping off truck from roads had nothing to do with this problem. I John Peters called Doug Rees nine times with no call back. Before I hired him he returned all calls. I paid $10,800.00 for driveway. Updated on 8/6/2014 per part of the Desired Resolution: We do not feel we are prematurely reporting a complaint. We contacted you via e-mail on February 26, 2014 and still haven?t seen Doug Rees on our driveway. D&M did come and installed concrete in my back yard in exposed aggregate and the only problem with that is the crack that goes across a large area that doesn?t have an expansion joint. We had two people come out from Shelby Concrete and both said the reason for the flaking was caused from poor installation not because we park there and not from salt, it is after-all a DRIVEWAY. We also contacted a concrete specialist and he took samples of the driveway, attached are his findings and once again he feels like D&M Concrete is at fault. I know that it isn?t our fault and it?s unfortunate that Doug Rees won?t take care of the problem. To say this problem is caused from parking our truck on our driveway is ridiculous, that?s why we have a driveway so we can park on it. We had CISI Concrete service and many others who all agree D&M Concrete did a poor install and they haven?t done anything to fix this problem. As for not seen Doug on video surveillance, the reason for that would be because he never came out. Also Janet did state in an e-mail months ego that Doug was aware that John had been calling and that Doug will call him back. Well we?re still waiting on that phone call.

Found D & M Concrete listed on Angie's List. Called for an appointment. Tthe owner came out the same week at a scheduled time on Saturday afternoon. Presented us with an estimate which we accepted immediately. Due to rain the owner said our smaller job would move up the schedule and would probably happen in early July. Due to all the rain, the company called three weeks ahead of the scheduled time and asked if they could come the next day. Work was completed in a timely manner, contractors were professional and the concrete is beautiful. We would highly recommend D & M Concrete.

Doug is a fair business man who did outstanding work. They were super careful around my gardens and cleaned up very well when done with the job.

D & M are a great little company and do solid work. He gave us a quote in late September last year and came back out this spring just like we requested. Work was great, we are very pleased. The color of the concrete was not exactly what we expected based on the color brochure but we are still very pleased. The work did take about 1 week due to some rainy days. We did not have anything fancy done as I know they are used to doing, but we are still very satisfied.

I called D & M Concrete and spoke to Janet who set up an appointment within days of the call for an estimate This was the first company that was even available to give an estimate during the busy season. Doug (owner) arrived promptly and was a true pleasure to work with. He gave an estimate on a rectangular shaped patio which I later redesigned into a shapely patio. The estimate was at or better than any of the other companies I called. Doug was more than willing to pour the patio specific to my design. A date was set dependent on weather. Janet kept me up to date at all times and was always available for questions. The weather was not as cooperative, very rainy surrounding the date to begin the job. The minute the rain let up, the crew came and began work. Doug was always present with the crew, working right along side them and making sure things were done perfectly. Unfortunately the weather held up the concrete pour date multiple times. The first break in rain was a Saturday which was not a typical work day for D&M. To my surprise, Doug gathered his crew and came out and poured/finished my patio on that Saturday. I was amazed at how careful they were with the wet yard and preventing damage with the heavy equipment. The patio turned out better than I ever imagined and I receive compliments daily from neighbors. No corners were cut and the finished product was perfect. I highly recommend this company for any concrete needs, they truly went over and above to provide great service and satisfaction.

The contractor explained everything that he would be doing. They arrived on time, and stayed late to finish. We were pleased with their work.
