D & M Concrete

The job was outstanding. Doug Rees was very prompt to give me an estimate for the work and the workers hand dug and wheeled in the wet concrete because the area was not accessible for large equipment. They dug out the area the 1st day, then allowed my pool company to lay a water line on the 2nd day, then they returned on the 3rd day to install the concrete. Doug and his crew did very good work.

A 4 man crew showed up and immediately got to work. They worked quickly and didn't waste any time. In 3 days, I had a beautiful new driveway. They did an excellent job.

They had great communication with us. They gave us an estimate. They were willing to point us to a different type of fix that was less expensive but in the end we are choosing to go with them.

All told the job went well. The patio looks good except for the scuff marks. My desires and request was to excavate enough dirt so that no additional dirt would be needed for backfilling. Doug didn't dig down enough so I will now need a bunch more dirt. During the estimating process he stated he would use pea gravel and "53" stone and he would compact the stone prior to pouring the concrete. Only stone was used and no compaction took place, but there was so little stone used, it probably won't matter. I was instructed to wait until the next day to scub off the fiber that came up during the final brushing. I did that and now there are very noticable scuff marks everywhere I did that. It has been over a week and it appears the scuff marks are here to stay. As I mentioned, the patio looks good. The seams are very nice and the edges are far better than jobs I have seen done by others. They were hard working and courteous. One guy smoked a lot. I don't think the ashes in the concrete will cause any problems, but he should have picked up the butts from my yard... I mentioned I had used Angie's list to find him, but he made no mention of a discount. My mistake, I should have looked more closely at the page. He did a couple other jobs while here with the big machine that more than made up for the 5%.

Doug was great! Showed up with a boat load of equipment and skilled labor and did a beautiful job. Not lowest price but certainly the best value as the price was in the middle and the work and attitude was top quality. H***, he even sent me a thank you gift after the job. I should have been sending him one. I am a contractor and know the game and Doug is the best I have dealt with.

They seemed very professional and I was recommended to them by my neighbors. Their price was competitive as well.

They did a great job, they did everything the way I asked and made adjustments when I asked them to. They did a perfect job.

Very well. Crew was there when they said they would be, tear out was completed in 1/2 a day and the pour was done the next morning. They started in the afternoon of one day and stayed until the old portion of the drive was torn out. They poured the next morning and were done by noon. The drive looks great and even though we haven't yet been able to drive on it, I have no doubt that it will hold up well. They were accomodating to us in our schedule and I'm very happy with their attention to detail and promptness.

We had to delay our start date because of some financing issues; however, we were easily and quickly rescheduled by the company. We originally requested a quote for a plain concrete sidewalk, but after receiving a quote for both stamped and colored stamped concrete, we decided to go with colored stamped concrete. Doug showed up to provide an estimate when he said he'd be there. Doug is a straight shooter, and won't try to sell you anything he doesn't feel is in your best interests unlike some companies who are all out for profit. All he does is concrete, and he knows his business which is quite evident as he talks about the proposed work and his past jobs. His crew works very well together and are very efficient. They pick up after themselves and are tireless in their attention to detail and pride in their work. My AT&T U-Verse line was hit because Holey Moley mismarked the location even with Doug and his crew hand digging around the marked area. I was immediately notified by Doug and worked with AT&T to quickly get my line restored. This was a large residential project(long driveway with addition of third bay plus long sidewalk), and it was completed within 4 days even with a rain date! I was quite surprised at how well the stamped concrete sidewalk looks. It looks spectacular and even better than I anticipated! Doug followed up with us with additional information on maintenance of our new sidewalk and driveway. I really appreciate all the hard work and extra effort to insure we were happy with his service. I would highly recommend D&M Concrete to anyone looking for any concrete work to be done. I don't think any job would be too daunting for D&M Concrete! Great job by all!

In late May 2010, my wife and I decided we wanted a stamped concrete patio. We contacted several contractors off of Angie's List for estimates and selected D&M Concrete for a couple of reasons: first, professionalism - in our first meeting, Doug Rees and Janet Caraboa were both personable, forthright, and easy to talk to and second, price - their estimate was much more in-line with our expectations than the other 2 written estimates that we received. After accepting D&M's estimate, a tentative date was scheduled but due to the late June wet weather our start date slipped a few days. Doug and his crew excavated and formed the 16x22 patio one day (after working in a slight design change:-) and poured and stamped it the following day. After a couple of more wet, hot days Doug returned on the weekend to clean and seal the new patio. We are including a couple of snapshots of our Italian Slate patio though it is not completely-cured. It is exactly what my wife wanted so I am very happy. To summarize, Doug and his team were professional, punctual, and a pleasure to work with. I would recommend D&M without reservation.

It went really well.They arrived when they said they would and went right to work. The job went fast and they were finished before I knew it.The old sidewalk was removed and the new sidewalk was poured in three hours. The finish work was completed in less than two more hours. The work was beautiful and the workers were very professional. I would not hesitate to use them again. My wife and I are happy with the results.

Doug came to my home approximately 3 weeks ago to do an estimate. He scheduled the work and explained to me that if the ground was still frozen it would have to be rescheduled. He and his crew came and performed the work according to plan and the job turned out beautifully! The patio and driveway are exactly what I asked for and the quality is exceptional. D&M was courteous, prompt and went above and beyond in helping me. They even removed a couple of extra bushes in my landscaping that were not part of the original plan for no extra charge. It is extremely important that when I get a service provided for my home that I can trust the company performing the service and that it is done correctly as I am a single female with limited income so there is no room for error.

They did an excellent job. We also wrote a check for $100 too much, and they were the ones who called us to let us know and sent us a refund. We will use them in the future as we replace more of our aging concrete.

They were very good in communicating when they could come out. We had to reschedule due to rain, but they always called to confirm. When they did come out for the job, they quickly went to work and finished within a few hours. The patio looks great and we are getting lots of use out of it. I would definitely hire them again.

Job went reasonably well - some delay, but only because of rain. They dug out the grass and dirt, formed, and installed gravel one evening, and poured the slab the next morning. D&M performed professionally and did a very good job.

It went well. I have used them twice now. The first time went really well, so I used them again. I really have no complaints. They gave us an estimate, which is exactly what I paid. The owner and his wife were terrific to deal with.

We wanted at 20x17 concrete patio behind our patio door. The owner and his wife came to provide the estimate. They were both very friendly and seemed knowledgeable about the type of work needed. They asked lots of questions to make sure we were getting what we wanted. The owner explained how they would enter the property and minimize any damage to the yard with the equipment that would be used. The estimate provided all the information and a drawing of the patio location. When we hired them we were given the schedule for completion. The day before the scheduled date we got a call asking if they could come that day as they had finished a job earlier than expected. We were excited that we were getting it poured even quicker! The crew was professional and worked very hard and quickly. The finished product was just what I wanted. I would definitely hire them again for any other projects that may come up.

Doug Rees and his men showed up late one afternoon, immediately tore out the old driveway, had it hauled away, leveled the ground and put up forms in just two hours. He even removed a basketball goal and its big concrete base for free. The next morning they came back, leveled some pea gravel and were ready for the concrete truck. They laid it, worked it, sealed it and were gone by noon. In less than 24 hours I had a new driveway. The only snafu was that my driveway and garage floor were originally laid in one section, so in lifting the driveway slab, my garage floor crack became more uneven until it broke away. He also didn't leave enough dirt to fill in around the new concrete, and we had to buy about 15 bags of soil. He doesn't do landscaping.

IT went wonderfully. He mentioned that redoing the walk from the driveway to the porch would make it look nicer, so we took his advice and are very happy with the outcome. We decided the porch needed to be wider than the original and they were very quick with a new price that I felt was quite fair. The crew came out and all were very friendly. As soon as I can afford it, they will be getting my driveway business as it is in a bad state.

They came when promised, removed the old concrete quickly and finished the new concrete within three days of starting. They cleaned up each evening and did a very nice job on the concrete. Many passers by have commented on the professionalism of the job.
