LEVENSTEIN'S/ABBEY CARPETS

On both occasions, someone came out to take measurements and discuss what we were looking to have done on both projects. My wife contacted them about the flooring since we wanted it done prior to moving into our new residence in Decembe 2017. She phoned them around the first week of November 2017 and she didn't hear anything back from them until she called for the third time. She was told that whomever they sent out (I'm guessing a sub-contractor) had the quote and someone would call her back. She did hear back from someone at Levenstein's/Abby Carpets and was provided a "verbal quote" over the phone. We received nothing in writing regarding the scope of work to be performed. I contacted them regarding the tiled shower install around the middle of August 2017 and have yet to hear back from anyone. This was over 4 weeks ago, and I won't be calling them to ask about their quote. I understand there are limited resources when it comes to getting anything done by a professional contractor or handyman in smaller communites, but if you take the time to send someone out to look at something, common courtesy dictates that you follow-up with the customer, even if you don't or won't do the work. The lesson I've learned when trying to find someone to do "anything" in smaller metropolitan areas is to try to find someone by word of mouth, because none of the contractors in the larger metropolitan areas want to travel more than 20 miles outside of their area to do smaller projects. That is of course unless it is a big dollar contract/project. We did get the flooring project completed at a cost $3,000.00 less than Levenstein's verbal quote, but we settled for a company and flooring we're really not happy with, and the company was out of Indianapolis. That being said, we wil more than likely have the flooring that was installed, replaced in about 5 years. We also found someone to do the tiled batroom shower install by asking around the community, but that was after a month of searching, and there's a 2 1/2 month wait before the project will be started. We had several folks look at the work we needed done, only to tell us that "I don't do tile, or "I can do the tile, but I don't do framing". Total for both projects will cost us right at $15,000.00, once the tiled bathroom shower install is completed. "If you're a professional handyman/handywoman and good at what you do, and you don't mind driving to do the work, the world is your oyster!"

They did real good.

Installation went great. Installer was on time and friendly and answered all our questions.

I am very pleased with the quality of the product itself, however, this installation team was not satisfactory. One of the employees cracked one of my corner cabinets and tried to cover it up with puddy. I also had two other installations that were not satisfactory and had a poor experience.
