Our 34-year-old house had a hodge-podge of flooring on the main level - vinyl (utility room), original hardwood (breakfast room & kitchen), ceramic tile (entryway) and parquet (study). The upper level hallway & bath were carpeted. Brian removed all of the old flooring and installed new hardwood floors throughout. The removal of the entryway flooring proved particularly difficult since the ceramic tile had been installed VERY WELL by Ostuni Tile many years ago. He also had to deal with moving furniture around, particularly in the study. The floor looks GREAT - it has been a huge improvement. He also removed the old stairway and banisters to the upper level and replaced them with new oak steps and wrought iron spindles. This was another major improvement.Brian removed a "view-obstructing" cabinet between the kitchen and the breakfast room and then had to build & stain a custom "end-piece" to complete the work.It looks great. The kitchen had an old built-in "planning desk" which was pretty useless. Brian tore out the old desk and built/stained a custom enclosure for a two-door wine refrigerator which is far more useful and a lot more attractive. He also installed and painted crown molding in the living room & dining room. Definite upgrade.Overall we have had Brian do a lot of work at our house and we have been very pleased with his workmanship, responsiveness and attention to detail. We will definitely use him in the future - in fact the project for next spring will be to replace all the wood in our deck.We recommend him very highly. He has the "3-C's" - he is conscientous, courteous and competent.
