Joe was referred to us from a good friend of mine who was pleased with his work. I called over the weekend, he called me right back and came over for an estimate that Saturday. When they tore the old shower out he realized the plumbing behind the wall was corroded and replaced it. And when I showed him the shower in the other bathroom and how it was old and wasn't working, he also replaced those faucets. He also helped us get our vent fans working again, they were broken in both bathrooms. In addition to that, we had a leak that he also fixed and replaced the ceiling in garage (from the shower he was fixing). We decided to completely strip and replace exactly what we had in shower (it was outdated and plain white) because we were on a budget and we were trying to match tile that we had around the garden tub. He knew I would be unhappy with plain white tile and talked me into a modern tile pattern, which we picked out together. So glad he did because it is absolutely beautiful. He made the tile stand out by taking it all the way to the ceiling, added a nook with a really cool pattern and placed some decorative strips. It was so much more impressive than I could have imagined it. And we already bought more tile to place around the tub at a later date to match. It did take a lot longer than was estimated, some of the time spent waiting on ordered materials, but I am so glad that we did it. Anytime he had questions he would call me, if I was at work. All the staff was very friendly and professional. He gave me a good price and did not overcharge me for the extra's. And gave me a break on the price of the tile too.

Jim came for an estimate on remodeling our master bathroom. He was very knowledgeable and pointed out some design flaws when we discussed ideas that we had heard from other companies. We definitely would have gone with them, but we could never get a response on our estimate. (other companies had estimates to us within a few days of their appointment) We were promised an estimate by the end of the week, then by the end of the following week. We finally gave up and went with one of the other companies.

Joe is professional, knowledgeable and very accommodating and easy to work with. I am very pleased with the end result. Excellent job! I would definitely recommend Bathrooms by Design and would use them again.

I called Bathrooms by Design to schedule a meet to get an estimate for remodeling my master bathroom. Joe showed up at appointment date & time. He was very professional and voiced new ideas for certain areas. Work to be performed consisted of new mud pan for custom shower, floor & wall ceramic tile for shower and hall entry, built-in shower seat, fixtures, rough-in, faucets, lighting, new jacuzzi, and ceramic tile surrounding tub. I was very impressed with his enthusiasm and ideas. He told me he would have an estimate for me within the week. After one week, he called with a couple of questions which I answered, he then said he would get back with me shortly with an estimate. I've not heard from him since (this is the reason I've graded an F for responsiveness). This was very disappointing to me because after receiving estimates from two other companies, I was leaning a bit towards Bathrooms by Design (even without their estimate) simply because of Angie's List reviews, recommendation by a friend and Joe's professionalism and enthusiasm when I met with him. Hopefully his lack of response means his business is thriving and there are simply not enough hours in a day to commit to large projects. Although my experience with Bathrooms by Design was disappointing, the Angie's List company that is currently doing the work is fantastic. I'm looking at it as a blessing in disguise!

i called bathrooms by design and talked to joe about getting our master bath tiled-joe was out to measure within a couple of days and had the estimate ready for us within a couple more days..we ran into a plumbing problem with our tub-so joe gave us the time to get that fixed then had the tiler at our door ready to do the job within 3 days-the job was done in 2 days and turned out beautiful-i love it !! and will recommend bathrooms by design to others...

It didn't...we never received a response.

I called Joe to come give me an estimate. He suggested the next day but I asked him if there was any way he could come that same day. He made it happen. He came out and really listened to what my husband and I wanted rather than telling me what I needed like some of the other contractors. Because of our first impression, we felt strongly about hiring Joe for our projects. Once he was hired for the projects, he came to the house a couple of different times to help me pick tile and deco for the first project. He always answered his phone to discuss my questions (and I had a lot of them).The first project was completed while we were out of town. Joe is trustworthy and I felt comfortable with him and his crew in my home. The second project was very detailed and took more time. Joe is very flexible and good about touching base throughout the day and in the process we were able to add things to the bathroom during the remodel to make it exactly what we wanted. Joe and his employees are very pleasant to have in your home. They were very nice to my 4 year old son who had a lot of questions. Joe's personal touch and flexibility went a long way to make my vision of the project a reality. He is very meticulous and strives for the best. If you are not happy, Joe will do whatever it takes to make you happy. I called him one evening after the tile guys left and told him I did not like the way the deco was put in the wall of the tub. I wanted it on an angle and they put it in straight. He said if I didn't like it, he would tear it out and put it in the way I wanted. The next morning, he did just that. We did not just hire a contractor, we hired someone willing to partner with us to make our project perfect. The end result was amazing.

Joe came out to give us an estimate. He was very nice, took the time to understand what we wanted and offered excellent suggestions and left us several tile samples to consider. He also directed us to the tile shop to consider other samples. His price was so reasonable in comparison to two other estimates that I would never have used him if he was not recommended by Angie's List. If fact, we did more than we originally planned because his price was so reasonable. The quality of the work was excellent. The bathroom looks great! The only issue was punctuality. Joe was apparently balancing several jobs at the same time and his men were single fathers with children issues. They did not show at all several times and were frequently late. Nevertheless, we are very pleased with the results.

Overall the experience was excellent. We had a small bathroom dated from 1940 that had never been renovated. But we wanted to maintain the 1940's look. But the shower was no longer being used. Wanted to convert to a half bath with more room. Joe was able to come in and help with the design ideas to achieve the look we wanted. We could not find replacement glass tiles for the wall. But needed to repair cracked tiles. Joe was able to do this by moving tiles around to replace cracked tiles. Then put in a beveled mirror in place of the tile used for repair. Never would have though of this! New tile floor put in. New light fixture for old dated fixture. Repair and painting of plaster walls. Plumbing was also done to old plumbing line. The overall effect was a new bathroom that still fit in with the age of the house. Which is what we wanted.

Joe did a fantastic job from start to finish. He helped us decide on the type and color of the stone and on the layout/design. Was very patient when we were having trouble making a decision. The installation itself went off without a problem----showed up every day on time, very clean, etc. We are very happy with the final product and we get compliments all the time from neighbors and friends. We'd recommend Joe and his team to anyone and will not hesitate to use them again.

I received three estimates (a fourth Angie's List company did not respond with an estimate as promised) from Angie's List companies. Joe's estimate was only $40 higher than one estimate and $1500 less than another. The day he came to see my bathroom I was telling him the sad tale of a utility room remodel (not an Angie's List company). He told me he could fix the sliding doors. I told him I didn't want to pay for it twice; he said I wouldn't have to, that it would be part of the remodel. So, in addition to his professionalism, that was the reason I gave BDD the job. We scheduled a start date and the job started on that date. All three of the gentlemen who worked in my bathroom, as well as Joe, were very professional and courteous. There was damage to an original art work that was on the wall on the other side of the shower being removed (vibrations). Joe took it to an art shop to have the canvas repaired (it is not yet back in my home) and adjusted the price of the renovation. I had a very good idea of what I wanted done to the bathroom. Joe suggested the texture on the walls and ceiling; because I did not know how it would look he arranged for me to visit another bathroom he was doing so I could see it. The crew worked two different weekends and finished a couple of days after the estimated finish date (it went over because the texture dried more slowly than it sometimes does). The baseboard needs to be painted and has been scheduled for sometime this week. Joe has always shown up when he says he will so I have no reason to think this time will be any different. He also said he will return in about 90 days to be sure everything is okay. I would certainly recommend this company to friends or family without reservation. If I had more bathrooms I would use them again!!

Joe and his workmen worked laying each travertine tile one by one in a "specific pattern" each day x 3 days and even built a step to match leading up to the jacuzzi. The workmen worked long hours, were professional and cleaned up after they completed the project. We will be having the expertise of Bathrooms By Design in the near future and have also recommended them to many friends and family.

I was looking to remodel a hall bathroom in my place and was wavering between trying to tackle the project myself and going with a sub-contractor. I had a total of 6 subs come out to give me an estimate and the prices I received varied almost as much as the professionalism I witnessed. Joe stood out from the get go with his comprehensive approach to his profession. He took the myriad of ideas floating through my head and filtered them into a design which not only met my budget, but satisfied the vast majority of my wants. Instead of forming my ideas into something he wanted to do, he aided my decision making with suggestions, which was certainly in the minority of my estimate experiences. Joe came out to my place at least three times prior to the initial start date to ensure that we were both on the same page. We communicated daily throughout the duration of the project on progress, problems, explanations, and expectations. Although I had to work the entire time they were working, I felt as though I was a part of the process. The project took at least twice as long as expected, but this was due to waiting on the delivery of materials, not a lack of work ethic on Joe or his team. Joe even filled the extra time by re-caulking the tub in my other bathroom at no extra cost. My bathroom went from an average run of the mill full hall bathroom to one the likes of which I have never seen. I have no doubt that the "wow factor" of this room will more than cover the amount of my investment upon resale. If you're considering a bathroom remodel, do yourself a favor and at least get an estimate from Joe. He will not disappoint. As I'm sure you can tell, he will be the one individual I reach out to for whatever remodeling needs I may have going forward.

BBD was very helpful in assisting in selecting tile that look terrific in my kitchen and bathroom. Once scheduled, they were prompt and finished the job in the exact time period that they had estimated. Additionally, and without additional labor cost, BBD offered to craft and install new baseboard/trim in a couple areas that didn't have it before - all they charged was the cost of the materials. The install job was great. Everything looks terrific. Additionally, Joe when the extra mile and would let my dogs out during the day since they are normally permitted run of the house and yard, but had to be penned while the install was going on. Great experience. One additional note - between their great labor costs and discount on tile (they don't upcharge at all), the total cost of the project was pretty close to what it would have been just to purchase the materials at retail. Great value!

We had been talking about having these renovations done for the four years we've been in our house. Over the years, we had at least four people come out to quote the work. I was given BBD's contact information by a personal referral, saw that it was well-rated on Angie's List, and Joe came out the very next day. The quote he provided, and his level of knowledge about the project, won him the work, which he started later that week (December 17)! Our original goal was to have it done before Christmas, but once you start tearing up a bathroom, you usually find surprises :) Plus, once he tore the tile out of the shower & bathtub, we realized that it would be logical to make the shower stall larger. So the project grew as it developed. Everything looks GREAT! Joe is great to work with, and provided many suggestions when we weren't sure exactly what we wanted.

The owner and his associate arrived on time and were very professional. They completed the work on time and it turned out beautifully. I was very happy with their knowledge and expertise. If there was a problem that came up during the installations, it was resolved quickly and satisfactorily. When the bathroom updates and the kitchen updates were completed, they were perfectionists at the cleanup and disposal of all the boxes, former bathroom and kitchen sinks, toilet, vanity, etc. Also, the owner was adament that if there were any problems, to please call him immediately and he would be back promptly to the resolve the issue. There have been no problems. I am very pleased with the results.

The job was excellent from the ceramic tile to the granite counter tops everything was outstanding quality. They were extremely knowledgeable, helpful and efficient. I would highly recommend them and will use them again!

We love the results. It took a long time to replace an entire kitchen but it was well worth the wait.

Both jobs took about a week each. They were very good at explaining how they would perform each job and the associated timeline. Their prices were very good and the finished product was excellent in both cases.

Perfect. BBD met with me to go over plans, talked about ideas, made decisions on colors, obtained an estimate and chose to go with BBD. Mike and Joe, owners/operators were fabulous. They were quick to start the job in the masterbath and kids' bath along with quick to finish. They prepped the shower/bath areas for tile, made the shower seat, layed the ledgers and layed the tile. We discussed tile options for a mudroom and went them for that design as well. They completed the job thoroughly and professionally. They came at a later date to complete the backsplash are in the kitchen. Wonderful ideas they had!!
