ARMITAGE FENCE

Took a week to respond to my voicemail to set up a time to come out to give me an estimate. We agreed on a day and approximate time (within a few hours). He no call no showed. I left a message on his cell and the company line to re-schedule, never heard back.

When I contacted prospective contractors, Ben was the first to respond and come out to give an estimate. Ben was always prompt in answering questions or in communicating anything else that was needed. The pricing and quality for both the aluminum and wood fencing was awesome, the work was started earlier than originally planned, and finished on schedule...even with all the recent rain! My install also had some interesting twists and the Armitage team managed the issues and delivered. I highly recommend Armitage Fence for all your fence needs.

Very down-to-earth. Estimates were timely. Price quotes across the board were good. The timing of installing it was really quick. After making the decision to go with Armitage, the owner was willing to return to finalize the location of the fence after the stake survey was completed. The fence was put in quickly (exactly the timing he promised), straight and sturdy and it looks good for a black vinyl chain link fence. I would definitely recommend Ben Armitage. My only comment is that the gate latch is not as secure as I would like it and the mechanism seems cheap. We have 5 dogs (thus the reason we needed it so quickly after purchasing the house) and one of the dogs was able to get out immediately by gently lifting up the handle and pushing the gate open. So, we need to install a separate latch.

Ben was very responsive. I left a message about wanting an estimate and he called me back within three hours. He came out a couple days later and gave me a quote, which was at least $1,000+ less than three of his competitors. Installation took place about a week later. Ben and his crew showed up at 8 AM, as promised. They worked through out the whole entire day, even during intermittent thunderstorms. What a great group of guys, and very hard workers! Rain was not stopping them from getting the job done LOL They cleaned up after themselves and left no traces of trash. I am beyond thrilled with my fence and will recommend them to everyone I know.

The son came out, and was pleasant to speak to. However, he didn’t write anything down. He said he would have the quote back in a couple days. A week went by and I had emailed about the quote. The father said he had been sick and would get it to me in a couple of days. Another week went by and they lost the measurements. By this point I had already contacted another fence installer. This company was recommended by a friend that received wonderful service so I was hopeful. Maybe just my luck but I was looking forward to working with them.

Everything was completed when promised. Price was very reasonable. Would definitely recommend.

They were quite a bit cheaper than everybody else. I couldn't imagine anyone doing a better job. They came and gave me a quote quick, and when I called them they did just what they said, took out the new fence and put the new one in at the exact time frame. I couldn't have been happier. They were nice. I've recommended them to several people already. They did a quality job.

I sent an email on Oct 3rd. I called and left a vmx. I was called back and explained my need. An appointment was set for October 27 at 6:00PM. Nobody showed up. No call, no email. Nothing. Then i got a vmx on Friday afternoon saying that they forgot about my appointment because they were busy and were not going to be competitive on price for the fence i was looking for. Would not have been easier to just say NO from the beginning? I wasted time that i could have used with another vendor. I felt almost like they didn't want to offer me the service. Quite disrespectful.

I left a voicemail and received a return call 2 days later. The price was great, but 2 follow-up call received no response. Not sure if they went out of business, or went out of business. Left 2 voicemails regarding the quote over a 3 week period.

Zach Armitage came within a couple of days of our request to provide a quote. He provided several options as we could not decide exactly how much we were going to fence, as it would depend on the cost. When we were ready to proceed with the project they had the yard marked for underground cables/power, etc. When Zach and Ben came out to see the markings, they were more than a little concerned because where we wanted the fence on the far side of the property was a mix of underground utility and cable wires. I was afraid they were going to say we couldn't put the fence where we wanted it, or they wouldn't do the job. Instead, they said they would hand dig the posts where the underground wires were, for an additional fee of $100. I thought that was a very good option. They sat the fence posts on a Tuesday and the the fence was up and complete on Thursday. They did a great job, we love the fence.

Horrible, horrible horrible. I contacted this company toward the end of April, 2016. I had to contact them at least twice before they would even call me back. Finally I made an appointment with Zach to come out on 5/4/16 for a measure and estimate. Zach called on 5/4/16 and asked if he could come on 5/5/16 instead. I said yes. Then I sent a couple of texts and/or email asking for the status of the quote. Finally on 5/16/16 i received the written estimate by email. After about 2 days I sent the signed quote back to them with a few changes. We set up an install date of June 23 & 24. I told them I would be taking vacation from work those 2 days because I wanted to be home during the install. On June 23 at 8 a.m. Zach called to say they would not be coming to begin the work. He said he was at their supplier's location and the boards were not the usual quality that they expected. He said that in good conscience they could not use inferior materials. He said he did not know when they would be able to get the materials that they had been used to in the past. He said they are a small company and do not have a warehouse, so they pick up their materials the day of the scheduled installation. I called him the day after and acknowledged that there was no point in continuing my work order with them. I asked him to return my uncashed deposit check, which he did. On 6/28/2016 I sent Zach a text message asking how they could stay in business if they could not find quality materials. He replied that they were temporarily freezing wood installations and only doing chain link orders, and that recently he had been told about 4 weeks. On 7/7/16 I sent a final text asking if he could install for me later in the month. I did not receive a reply, which to me speaks volumes. Why no response?? Had they been honest and up front with me all along??? I will let you decide, but I do not believe them. Really-they don't order their supplies even 1 day prior to install? Really-you call your customer to cancel on the day you are supposed to show up?? When I called their office I never spoke to a person. I always had to leave a message. FFFFF rating

Ben was exceptional! he showed up promptly to give us an estimate and started the work when he said he would. After tearing down the existing old fence, there was a tree in our yard that was dying and it would have been difficult for us to get it removed once the new fence was built around it. Fearing that we may get the new fence damaged, we asked Ben for some more time to get the tree removed before he started installing the new fence. Not only was Ben flexible, he also suggested an awesome tree company who took care of getting the Ash tree out of our yard. We are extremely pleased with the service Ben offered and his level of professionalism. If you need a new fence then this is the place to go. I shopped around with at least 7 other companies on Angie's List and decided to go with Armitage based on the excellent feedback other reviewers gave this company and the great estimate that was provided to us.

His estimate was lower than others but he also impressed me because he didn't object to digging post holes in one particular area that other vendors had complained would be too hard (or impossible!) to do because of lots of underground roots. The start date was delayed due to family illness but his office kept me informed daily of the situation. He works with his son so it's not like they can send another crew out. Their work was excellent and they came and went with no mess, no blaring music, no problems. I had a 6' wooden fence build on either side of my backyard and a chain link across the back. I think they will last a century or so.

I spoke with the owner Ben, who was incredibly responsive pleasant to work with. His son came out to do the estimate. In just a couple of days I had the estimate in my mailbox.

We have been needing a fence for some time and were apprehensive due to some obstacles in our yard. Ben came out and knew exactly what we wanted and needed. His estimates on price and time of completion were precise. When job was completed it looks as if my yard was custom fitted for the fence. Great experience all the way through.

Ben quoted a terrific price and answered all my questions. I now cannot imagine life without the fence. I?ve also had many comment on how great it has enhanced the yard.

I am just thrilled with my new fence and also thrilled with the price. Compared to other quotes the one from Armitage Fence company was by far the best. It is a small private company that really takes pride in their work. He came out promptly when I requested an estimate and the price was so much better than expected that I knew right away that I wanted to go ahead with this. I had originally checked out his reviews on Angie's list and they were all exceptional. My old fence was not easy to remove, but they did a wonderful job being careful not to hurt the bushes or flowers that were right along the fence line. They even called me to make sure that it was okay to leave the old fence on the concrete slab beside the garage until they could come back with truck to haul it away. They didn't want to hurt the grass. The new fence is just beautiful! I would recommend this company to anyone.

Ben provided a timely quote. He estimated it would be three weeks before he could start the work. He was on target. It took him and his crew two days to complete the job. The fence looks great. They cleaned up after themselves and took great care to take care of the lawn while installing the fence.

Ben & helper were always prompt and on time (and even a little ahead of schedule as for today's work) and finished everything over a three day period. Ben painted both rails (including the old one) so that they would match. The new fence will prevent vehicles from driving into the back yard area, so it's a job well done. Thanks, Ben!

Very responsive and great communication. Came out very quickly to help us mark out the yard and give us an estimate. Also gave me a ball park estimate over the phone which was helpful. Great price for the fence and not much more than buying the supplies on their own. Was much lower than other large companies. Fence went up quickly and looks fantastic. They even took some of the extra dirt and filled in the ditches under our gutters where the water had created a ditch. Was a great extra perk! Very professional, got right to work when they showed up and didn't stop until it was finished. My dogs and I are very happy-thank you!

Ben was a pleasure to work with. He knew his profession and gave me advice that I found to be helpful. He priced out a fence that was much cheaper than others had quoted. There was a delay in getting my fence started on the day we had expected, but he kept me informed about the delay and updated about the new start date. The fence looks good, is solid, and the gate opens easily. We are very happy with it.

Great, would definitely recommend and use again if we decide on additional fencing.

We called for a quote...Company came out right away. Work done when we requested...fair price...no mess left. We have referred numerous times.
