I had a water damage at my condo on the Southside about 5 years ago. I lived on the 2nd story of and water softener burst and caused a rather large water loss in my unit, the unit below and also the common area's. I called Brian, one of the managers, and there were 3 employees within about 45 minutes. The job was done flawlessly. The unit below could have been a huge loss but thanks to their speedy response they were to save all the drywall in the ceiling for the unit below. The unit below was for sale and was suppose to close 3 days after the damage but Amerestore's top notch had it ready for closing. I have had them back for 3 carpet cleanings since then.
Description of Work: Major water loss as well as carpet cleaning 3 different times.

See above. I would add that they returned to be sure everyone was done properly and to address any further concerns I might have. I have recommended the company to others.
Description of Work: Wonderful service in every way. We had water leadkage from a hotwater heater in our basement. I had been running for some time == at least overnight. The men not only dealt with the water, but moved many antiques and painting stored in the basement with great care. They removed one large hand braided carptet and had it cleaned and dried/ After the basement was dried out, they returned and painted and moved furniture again. They also carried away items that were too damaged to keep. We were so impressed with the service that we hired them later to do some painting upstairs and to clean carpets in the living and dining rooms. Dorothy Webb Our insurance covered most of the damage and work, thus the low figure cited above.

It was all handled through the insurance and we had a lot of contractors through here as a result of the accident. Amerestore was kind of the gatekeeper for the entire project. They did well; it was good. They were very thorough and were always on time. They were quick and came out right away. They were very professional and responsive.

The service people came out everyday to check and they were conscientious and polite. The only thing I didn't like was it was on their time schedule, which I understand, but it was inconvenient for me to be around most of the days they had to be there. I understand because they are on the other side of town and they were trying to clump customers together to save on gas and time. But they did a good job and I would rate them overall an A. They were professional and I would use them again if needed.
Description of Work: We used Amerestore the first part of August. We had a manufacturer's defect in our commode and they came out to remove the water damage and clean the carpets. They also perform a mold check-up.

The company was good at explaining the water remediation procedure when they first arrived. (The did not explain the payment procedures and did not have me signed were customer's initials were supposed to be on the contract.) I was prepared for the possibility of a major demo. Some of the crews were very polite and thorough; Sean was especially thoughtful--going so far as checking my recently moved computer and shoveling a snow-free pathway to the garage. He also did an excellent job of cleaning after he did some work. Other crews left messes and one even tracked snow through my house. My main issue came over lead-based paint abatement procedures. Even though the damage and restoration involved less than 6 square feet (the amount that EPA mandates abatement procedures), I signed the forms and requested that lead-based procedures be used. Nonetheless, NOTHING was done. The heating vents were not covered; the HVAC was not turned off while the work was being done; the technicans did not wear protective covering over their faces; nothing was covered with plastic. It might be understandable that a plastic barrier to the entire area need not be created, but simple compliance to limit the spread of lead-based paint would have made me much happier. I was disappointed that the last official crew that came by only removed the equipment and did not clean up. Only when I had restoration professionals come to give an estimate about the next stage did I realize how careless these men had been. (Both contractors told me to call AmeRestore because I would not want to put the lead based mess into my own vacuum cleaner; both alerted me to what they thought were violations of safe procedures.) Because they operate in emergency mode, they will not commit to any specific time to come to check the progress. I found this frustrating but understandable. AmeRestore came out to clean up and eventually agreed to pay to have the supply and nearby return duct professionally cleaned. In general, I think they are an adequate company for a house that does not have lead-based paint.
Description of Work: Main floor study and bathroom were damaged by a broken pipe on the second floor. AmeRestore came out within an hour of my call and placed multiple machines to dry the water damage and cleaned up the water in the basement. They checked the progressed on many days. After a few days, the walls were tested for lead paint, and a new procedure was recommended (removing the baseboards and putting heaters between the wall cavity). Within ten days the walls were dry and the machines were removed. After a phone call from me, they returned and cleaned up the plaster dust that the machines had dislodged and the mess in the basement that had been overlooked.

Very well. As stated above, I had a coupon to use, otherwise I most likely would not have had the carpets cleaned in the middle of the winter season leaving the doors open for their hoses. They were offering this deal as this is obviously the slower season for them. They accomodated for the colder weather by having an air blocking barrier at the door frame so all my heat wouldn't go out! Otherwise, I most llikely wouldn't have them cleaned and waste alll my heat just to get a 30% deal.
Description of Work: I have used theis company before as they have sent mailer coupons out in my area and have found them to be most professional and respectful to taking care of my particular requests and needs. They do send out coupons with a quarterly newsletter w/ tips on carpet care as well as other info for the reading pleasue. They supply you w/ a "spot" treatment bottle and instructions for use and alot of carpet cleaning tips and information that the "usual" carpet cleaning fellas just don't offer. They are well schooled and educated in their field for sure. The price may be a bit more, but the quality is definately obvious. This go around, I had (with a special coupon, a 30% off deal) family room, dinning room, and stairs with landing cleaned with carpet protection applied.

The punctuality and inspection went fine, but the person who came just went on overdrive about all that would be needed -- a big maximumizing, so to speak, of everything that might or would likely happen. The leak wasn't a really bad one, and while there was some stuff in basement that needed to be hauled out, then drying needed, the work described as almost certainly necessary was simply over the top. We were promised a call the next day to advise that an estimate was ready, but the call never came. Next day, we called to get the estimate, and the customer service lady had it and offered to send it right away -- she was v. polite and prompt. The estimate of work was astounding -- line item after line item of work deemed necessary and'/or recommended, at over $4000 !! It was also a job that was estimated to take from 3 to 5 days or more. The Ameristore guy kept mentioning that they would work with our insurance company, and all we had to do was pay deductible. Well, our deductible is pretty high, which we'd advised, so after the third time that was mentioned, it had to be mentioned that going over that aspect wasn't really worth discussing in depth. Instead, we went the route of just having a plumber come for the easy repair -- job very well done, btw -- and used another company, called 1-800-Got-Junk? -- to do the clearout, cleanout, and hauling away of wet and damaged carpet and old stuff from the basement, after we put in about 90 minutes of sorting out stuff not damaged that was worth keeping. This was just not a 3-day or longer job, which was obvious to even us, who are not professionals in this area, but can recognize a hype job pretty easily. The 1-800-Got-Junk guys were terrific -- fast, efficent, thorough, cleaned the affected area beautifully -- that's another review, but the point is that after they left, and we set fans for about 5 hours, eveything was clean, dry, and in great shape. Total time of plumber, us, and the cleaner/haulers was about 4 hours. Total money to plumber and the 1-800-Got-Junk fellows was about $550. A LOT different than $4K estimated by Amerestore. A comment made by two people we told this story to -- both said, "Looks like it was a small job somebody wanted to make into a big job." We understand that such services need to warn of unknown aspects at time of estimate, but the whole approach seemed to be to stress maximum work needed, instead of being more realistic, and we never heard that things might be less dire than presented.
Description of Work: Asked for a visit and an estimate for drying out basement, applying fungicide, and discovering if the kitchen, where burst pipe for sink had happened, needed work. Irrigation pipe was damaged and water was leaking into basement bathroom/basement closet. Amerestore came out the day damage was identified and began the clean up process. Dried carpet and assessed damage in bathroom. They quarterbacked the entire process along side my insurance company (the 1000$ price was my deductible) and coordinated all of the remaining repairs (vanity fix, dry out process, carpet cleaning). Very professional and they kept things moving to ensure a speedy fix.

They were suggested by our plumber and paid for by the insurance company, so I don’t have a great idea about the cost. They had to rip up carpet and drywall then put in dryers and air purifiers. They might have been a little expensive but they did the job. It took five to seven days and it was a reasonably good experience. They came in on a weekend to get stuff done, and they did what they were supposed to do. I think they are one of the few people that comprehensively do what they do. They have the equipment, they come in an emergency, and they work well with the insurance company.

They coordinated the work with the company for the subcontractors that came in for the final replumbing as well as installation of the drywall and carpeting. They were really good project managers.

Our plumber from Ben Franklin called in Amerestore once he discovered there was a leak in a water supply line leading to one of the toilets. This had created a fair amount of water damage between the walls, the bathroom floor, and a bulkhead in the kitchen below. It was a homeowners claim for sure. Seth from Amerestore came out to do the initial estimation and clean up. The intitial work consisted of pulling up bathroom flooring and drywall, then bringing in enormous fans and dehumidifiers to dry out the place. These very noisy machines had to run 24/7 for three days. It was like living in a Boeing plant. Seth seemed competent and explained that Amerestore had many dealings with our homeowners insurance company and that they worked in tight tandem on estimates, and all would get done on time within budget. This was hardly the case. Amerestore seem to be more of a general contractor than a one-stop service shop, so there were many mouths to feed and markups involved--a flooring company, a drywall company, carpet cleaning, etc.. The coordination effort to bring all the services together to get a fairly reasonable conclusion to our problem was a nightmare. Seth's smooth talk of making this a worry-free experience was just that -- all talk. As a result, it took nearly a month before all was completed. Progress was made only when we called Amerestore several times to move things along. At the end, there was a $1,000 difference between Amerestore's estimate and that of our insurance company. So much for working in "tight tandem". Kudos to Sherry at the Amerestore office for at least assisting in getting contractors coordinated and returning our calls. Other than that, this was not a great experience.
Description of Work: Our need was for water restoration services from a burst toilet supply line in second floor bathroom.

Amerestore had a crew of 2 people come out within ~4 hours of calling to give me a quote. I received another quote from a second company, who was slightly more expensive, but quoted an extra dehumidifier for a few extra days. After working with my insurance company (Amica) and local adjuster (Holloway and Associates) I decided to go forward with Amerestore for the dry-out portion as described above. The crew showed up on time to set the fans up, and came every few days to check on progress. I ended up giving them my key to my house so they could go in and check themselves without me needing to be home. The cutout of the drywall was done within several hours, and they cleaned up after themselves, which was terrific. Their office apparently wasn't super-responsive with my insurance adjuster, which is why I graded them a "B" in communication. All in all, this was a smooth experience. I've seen a few other good reviews on Angie's list for Ameristore's dry out, but not-so-good reviews about using their subcontractor for the re-build, so I decided not to get them to quote.
Description of Work: Cut out of drywall on ceiling and baseboards of affected areas from water damage. Sectioned off wet area and placed fans and dehumidifiers in the area for around 2 weeks (took abnormally long as my A/C was out at the same time, so the house was more humid than normal). Tested flooring for dampness to make sure this was completely dry prior to removing equipment.

We discovered the flood late at night the day before we were suppoesd to leave for vacation. Amerestore came out with several high powered blowers and dehumidifiers. They carried a lot of stuff upstairs to our garage, and removed any ruined items that we did not want to try to save. All of this, and we still got to leave for vacation. They were in and out of our house while we were gone, and did a great job!
Description of Work: Dried out an unfinished basement that had 3-4 inches of flooding.
They did a good job. I had allergies and they had machines to get all that stuff out and they did a very good job. I would rate them high overall. I would use them again in the future if needed.
Description of Work: I used Amerestore three years ago. They did carpet cleaning, wall paper removal, interior painting and carpet installation. Something broke down one day and the water was spilling in and we didn’t notice it. The bath room was divided in two, shower and toilet in one area and then there was a partial wall and then we have a double sink and closet in the other. The water went into the carpet, into the wall, went into our bedroom and ruined our carpet there. They had to dry that out. The water also went into the car space and they had to even dry that out. The water had gone even into the drywall and there was wall paper installed and we had to take off the wall paper and then have the wall painted. They painted our bathroom, bedroom and faucet. They also put in ceramic tile in the bathroom.

The overall job went really well. We called them and they were here at our house within an hour. They were very professional from beginning to end. They have a contractor who went through with us completely, and told us everything. They left the equipment in our place for three days. They called before they came to pick it up. They have their contractor make a bid for the inside services and for the cleaning. We decided to go elsewhere for that, until the office manager contacted us via email. She was excellent. She was very responsive. Overall it was a very good experience, and they did a great job. Their price came around or below what was estimated.

On Jan. 5 I discovered a leak from our master bathroom, which also involved the ceiling of our office. Seth from Amerestore came within several hours of my initial call to Amerestore and started the water extraction process the same day. He was very professional as were the other service techs that came to our house once a day to check on the water extraction equipment (Jan. 5-14) and progress. On the first day, Seth explained the process and the details in the contract to me thoroughly. During this initial meeting, I also explained to him my concerns about making sure none of our cats (or dogs) got out since they would be coming to our house daily when we were not home. Seth was an animal lover and was extra careful about making sure our animals did not get out. Seth also worked with my insurance agent on my behalf. In the end the insurance agent stated the costs for the water extraction were more reasonable than what other water extraction companies charge. I chose Amerestore because it was recommended to me by the plumber that I was using and I reviewed the ratings before calling them. I was very satisfied with the work done by Seth / Amerestore, but I did not use Amerestore to project manage replacing my bathroom floor or fixing my office ceiling due to the ratings I read on Angie?s list for work subcontracted out by Amerestore.

It?s unbelievable all the things they have to do to make sure everything is dry and safe.
Description of Work: They were here from about 1 in the afternoon until 11 at night. Our sewer line backed up into my carpeting, linoleum and dining room. They were able to get all the water up and test where it came from. They moved everything out that needed out, removed all the linoleum, carpeting and brought in huge dehumidifiers. They had to treat everything and remove baseboards. This was Saturday. They came back on Monday and did some more work in my mother’s closet. They were also able to take 1 dehumidifier out.

The team led by Brandon was excellent. The contractors were slow to get estimates to insurance company, therefore, we will be using other contractors.
Description of Work: Cleaned up water damage from lift pipe failure in basement. They came on Memorial Day and cleaned out the water damage, carpeting, and miscellaneous items. They set up fans to dry the basement, prepared the basement for restoration, sprayed the basement for bacterial contamination, and set up an air flow system to clean the air in the house. It took approximately a week. They also sent flooring and general contractor to prepare estimates for restorations.

This overall experience was not good. Following a flood in my kitchen, Amerestore came in and ripped out my kitchen and dried the area. I was told that a contractor would be contacting me to restore the kitchen. Days passed and I heard nothing so I called them to inquire. After several phone calls to Amerestore and my insurance company I was finally contacted by sub contractors to pick out new cabinets and flooring to be used in the restoration. I chose the items I wanted within a day of being shown choices from the sub contractors, but was told that Amerestore would be handling the scheduling of work. After nearly a month of having no insulation or dry wall on the outside wall of my kitchen, Amerestore finally brought in some one to put the wall back in, but only after my husband and I (our insurance adjuster also) made numerous calls to Amerestore. I also waited weeks (and was never given) pricing on the items I had chosen or a schedule of work to be done toward the completion of the job. Each time I called I was given a new excuse as to why Jeff (the Amerestore representative) could not provide me with this information-- He blamed the insurance adjuster and sub contractors for not providing him with paperwork and information he needed. When I contacted the insurance company and sub contractors myself I was given answers to my questions and was able to schedule to have the work done with them myself. Jeff then called me and angrily told me I should not have scheduled with the sub contractors myself. At that point I stopped working with Amerestore and hired a handyman service to install the items I had chosen through the sub contractors. I had my kitchen back within a week. The lack of communication and customer service provided by Amerestore prompted me to take over scheduling myself. I can not rate the quality of their work as no work on the remodel was completed with the exception of the insulation and dry wall although the new handymen considered even that to be of inferior workmanship. Overall this was a frustrating and disappointing experience that left me feeling taken advantage of by Amerestore. I never was given a straight answer from this company and would never use them again or recommend them to any one.
Description of Work: Amerestore ripped out my kitchen following a kitchen flood, dried the area and began (arguably) to restore the kitchen.

They left dryers and fans for about 5 or 6 days and came back and checked it several times during that time. They came back and cleaned and shampooed part of the basement that was carpeted and made sure there was no mold. They took away the things that were damaged and it was done very efficiently. They also removed a hand braided rug and cleaned it, dried it and brought it back. They also painted the other side of the basement as advised by our insurance company. They were recommended to us by our plumber. We were looking for someone to come out immediately and they were able to do so. Jeff was the project manager.
