The contractors were told not to build or put anything on the South part of the Home. The Engineer on the first day, planned the finger system on the south end of the home, call the builder to correct this issue. We were charged $1700.00 for this, the allowance was set by the builder at $650.00. The framers that were used, could not read blueprints, and flipped the house, the north was south and the east side was the west. When we ask them to fix it, the framers took 2 days to do the job, and didn't move any walls, just studs, the walls butted up together with no studs, They fixed this, but with alot of arguement. The electrician, installed all electrical receptcales behind combustible material which is against national Code, Then installed a non-compliant meter box, which the electric company would not hook up, it took 10 days to get this resolved. He also Install light a switch behind a door, so when you go into a room you have to close the door to turn the light on. The plumber they used installed a outside water specket that was one inch above the pouch, and it could not be use. They also switched hot/cold water lines through out the home. The lift station in the basement didn't work at all. I had to insist that a shower door/rod be installed prior to signing off on the occupancy. All contractors left trash in my yard every day, when I ask about this, they would only say they could not burn it because it was too dry. So they just let it in my yard. We were told that the builders were going to use the company that were associated with the framers they used to do the ceilings/walls and inside trim (doors, ect), so we negotiated to do this work for an amount off of the final draw. The amount was consumed by invoices that the builders created for work that was performed. The $2000.00 credit for vinyl windows instead of wood window sills, became 1200+. The $3700, floor allowance that was set by the builder, and selected by them initially, hardwood floor (oak #2), This cost was increased by $2500 for the ceramic tile subsitute for the kitchen, two small bathrooms, (200 sq ft.), which the contractors said would be a wash. The gutters were installed in front of the drip edge, so the first rain washed out on my pouch. I ask them to fix this, so the builders sent the workers out to repair, their ideal was to cut 3 foot pieces of flashing and tuck it up under the drip edge. I called the contractor and told him to fix it right, with reluctantancy they did fix it the right way. The contractors acted unprofessional, and anything that needed to be fixed or motified, would be questioned or cost us extra through-out the whole build. We felt like the builder treated us as if we were stupid and didn't know what we were talking about most of the time. I was told that all invoices for the allowances would be at the signing of the occupancy, however the only invoices that were offered to me were their own invoices. After I signed the contact with them, they were not professional, Their overall proformance was poor

One door doesn't fit properly. He came out and looked it then agreed to order a new door. I received a phone call 30 days later to say the door was on order, this was last summer mind you, and he hasn't returned my calls since. An ice dam issue has since developed and he won't return my calls on this either. He used to be great about returning calls but since the job he doesn't seem to want to return calls at all.
Description of Work: I hired him for door replacement in addition to some odds and ends.
