Randall & Sons Plumbing

After another plumber said he could not fix the problem I paid another service fee through American Home Shield to have another plumber come out. Randall and Sons were assigned. He came out said it wasn't the problem the other plumber said. He said he would replace the toilet. He did not put in the request, did not contact me, did not contact me when I repeatedly reached out to resolve the issue. After contacting AHS several times, he told them to close the assignment. Nothing was wrong. He kept my service fee and I still have toilet issues. Do not use Randall and sons.

He gave us a name of a company to do the work.

He tried to fix it first, and it was beyond repair. I looked up how much replacement water spigots normally cost, and this price was within the range. While it wasn't super inexpensive considering the service provided, he worked extremely hard and did a great job. He communicated well with what the problem was and what he was doing, but wasn't overly chatty. He was running ahead of schedule so he called and asked if he could come early, and it worked out great.

I contacted the provider to repair a leaking shower pipe in a tenant's home. They coordinated with the tenant on or about 11/19, a site visit was apparently made, but after repeated phone calls and messages as of 12/4/15 they had not notified me of the proposed repair or scheduled a follow-up visit with the tenant. On 12/3 and 12/4 four phone calls were made to the provider that went unanswered and/or unreturned (1 message was left).

We were able to find a great plumber who provided the service we needed and was not overpriced. The company was very professional and we decided to hire them for our bathroom remodels. We really like to support local businesses and family owned operations, but unprofessional and unreliable business practices are inexcusable. If we use Angies List for a service next time we will pay more attention to the negative reviews. This company has multiple bad grades and some members have already experienced the bad service that we did. As one angies list member said, all they had to say was we are unable to assist you at this time, versus saying they will do something and never doing it. Angies list should revaluate the overall grading formula.

'Spike' made a call to my house after business hours, even though this was not an emergency. the problem was that water was pooling in the area of the water heater and so i suspected we had a leak in that old thing. he arrived before i could make it home from work and waited while i was delayed in traffic. he got down and carefully inspected around the yucky area around the pooled water. Ran the water softener and got a little additional water to accumulate. That enabled him to diagnose that the sump pump was not working and so the water was backing up all the way to the drain. He started the pump, made an adjustment, tested things and we're good. he just charged me a $50 service call. He could have suggested that i buy a new heater, and i asked questions all around that idea but he said wait a year since i've got a lot more expense this year with this money pit of a house. Great guy. He's been in business a long time. I will work with him as long as he stays in business!!!

To begin, I was very happy this 24-hour service plumber responded to my calls last night. I had a sump pump that wasn't working when I got home, and it had partially flooded the basement. Not knowing what to do, I called several plumbers in the area that I found on Angie's List, and only two responded. The plumber with whom I talked from Randall & Sons was polite and knowledgeable. They also offered a better price and immediate scheduling. Today, he came on time, diagnosed the problem as a failed sump pump, left to get the supplies he needed, and replaced it, all in less than an hour. The only complaint I have is that he dirtied it up a little bit down there; however, it's not a big issue, as I was planning to clean all the floors after the partial flooding. I would definitely call these guys again.

Very fair in pricing. Was very courteous, efficient and answered all my questions.

There was no work done from this duo, father and son.

I called Randall & Sons on Monday evening because I had a leaking pipe in the basement. I figured out how to turn off the water, so I didn't need an emergency visit, but I definitely needed to schedule a plumber for the next day. The person I spoke with told me he had a meeting at 9:30, and wasn't sure how long that would go--maybe 2 hours--but that he would call me as soon as it was done. I would have appreciated if he would have told me that he couldn't schedule an appointment with me instead of leaving me hanging. I got the impression that he would have been happy to come out in an emergency and charge me emergency rates, and seemed reluctant to schedule a time during regular business hours.

I called spike to schedule an appointment to install a new garbage disposal ( ours had stopped working the day before ) instead of just scheduling it in, and charging me for a new one he asked if I had pushed the reset button. I wasn't even aware that there was a reset button. I pushed the button, and it did in fact start working again. Its so nice to know that there are nice, HONEST contractors out there like Randall and sons! thank you so very much and I will certainly call for any future plumbing work I need done.

There was a problem with a bathtub spout. We were highly pleased and now are glad that we have a plumber!

The whole process was very smooth, and efficient. I would recommend their services.

Spike also provided a quote for replacing the water heater in the future. He also reviewed several other jobs we might want done in the future. I will definitely call him back when I need these types of services.

Called them 3 times and left messages and again this morning. They don't even return phone messages. Is anyone ever in the office to answer the phone? I do not understand how the heck these people got an "A" rating. Shoot they never answer the phone or return calls. Talk about unprofessional.

After some initial difficulty with securing an appointment the tech arrived on time. They were, as many such companies these days very careful with tracking dirt into the house (they wore disposable overshoes when getting into the house) and with cleaning up after themselves. The tech immediately saw that the sump pump was defective and gave us the cost for replacement. He also explained why the sump pump had malfunctioned,what he was doing, and how the pump he was putting in was more powerful and would therefore probably last longer than the one in the rain-water reservoir in the basement. They had some difficulty in getting the new pump to fit onto the existing fittings but eventually were able to get it done in about 1.5 hours from the time that they had first arrived. The new sump pump is silent and has been working well for the last several months and we are therefore happy with the service and Randall & Sons professionalism.

They were great. We will use them again!

I have had work done before by other companies and was very disappointed both in the work and the cost. For a great job done and done fast, I was originally quoted $250, but I only paid $200. I would recommend Randall & Sons to anyone needing plumbing done, especially with emergency needs.

We had a clogged kitchen sink about 8 months before this one. We called this same company and they came out to fix it. I had to call them right after though because our sink started to leak into the cabinet and the floor of the kitchen. They were prompt in coming back and the sink leak was fixed. Our clogged sink came back. He came to unclog the sink and was pretty much on time. He seemed nice but the entire time he was unclogging the sink he was muttering (none too quietly) how much he hated his job. I did not like that as I found it very unprofessional. In the end, the clog was cleared and he mopped up the floor for me (it was snowy outside). However, I then had to wipe out the bottom cabinet of the sink where a lot of mucky water went while cleaning out the clog. Also, where the pipes go into our basement, there was a bit of a mess from where that was also messed with. After cleaning it though, I was sure the job was done. The next day, it clogged again and it started to leak into the bottom cabinet again. I called once more to see if they could come out and fix it - I was told he would call me back and schedule another appointment. That was the day after the service and I have yet to hear from him, nearly two weeks later. Now a pipe in our basement is dripping. I understand that sometimes a clog is more complicated that it seems at first and I would have no problem having them come back to look at the problem again. However, I did not appreciate the messes that were left behind, the sink that wasn't tightened, and the unprofessional manner. We will not be using them again.

He was prompt. He gets in and he gets the job done. He is just very no-nonsense. He knows his job. I would not hesitate to use Randall Plumbing again if need be.

Did not come on time scheduled for first appt. Called again and Randall's did come out. Said they would provide estimate. Never heard from them again

He came when couldn't get ahold of anyone else. with 2 hrs he was at our door took about 20 mins to fix. ill use him again no problem.

Friendly, professional, did the job quickly & thoroughly, cleaned up any mess he made, reasonable price.

The person was very prompt and polite. He offered options to repair or replace (it is an older water heater). I decided to just repair based on his information and it's been working well. The price was great! He even sent a Christmas card - who does that anymore? Awesome company!!!!!
