Unreponsive when floor started to come undone. VERY rude. Blamed the floor coming undone on the quality of flooring. Big talker, no results. Refused to look at floor that came undone. Became belligerent! Could go on and on about this person. Do not recommend!!!!!!!!!!!

Terry Arter from Arter Builders installed laminate flooring in my house in June. It looked okay when he was initially done with it. Upon further inspection, I found a small piece of flooring that did not lay flat, it was the last piece and it looked as though he just shoved it in there. It was raised up and not flat. A couple of weeks later, my floor began to buckle in approximately 6 to 8 places. It was raised 1 to 4 inches in various spots. I emailed Terry Arter, the owner. He did not respond to my email. I emailed a second time, and his reply was that he "intended for me to call him". Finally, I get Terry to come out to look at his work. He said he spaced everything correctly and would get a humidity tester and would also go to Menard's to inquire (I bought the flooring from Menard's) about the product and call me back later that day. I have not heard from Terry, nor do I expect that I will. He has not been responsive in any way. I found another "floor person" who took the base boards off (which Terry did not do) to look. There was no space between the laminate flooring and wall. Without room to expand, the floor buckled. In addition, Terry left spacers between the wall and flooring. Why he did that, we cannot figure out. Needless to say, my floor is still not laying flat in one area because it is warped from the buckling. Terry was unresponsive and I am not impressed with his work and even less impressed with his business ethics. He is not a man of his word and I cannot recommend him to anyone. His pricing was okay, however, he refused to leave a bill for me, but asked for payment. He did not do all the work that he originally quoted me and I assumed that he would take it off the bill. He did not, and insisted that I pay the amount from the original quote. Again, after emails back and forth, he agreed that I did not owe him for work he did not do. The final bill was fine, he just "accidentally" added $10 (in his favor of course) to the amount. He seemed to either have a difficult time adding numbers or he meant to get paid for work he did not do. My guess is that it was intentional since he is also a school teacher.
