Bates Mechanical’s team (Larry, Greg, Matt & Kain) did a WONDERFUL JOB!!! I was incredibly impressed! Very efficient and the work quality was top notch!!

During install the installers discovered that my ducts in my crawlspace were not hooked up. They did this at cost since they missed it, and I only had to pay for materials, which was very nice of them.

Very nice company to work with, local and family owned. Thorough assessment of my house. I consulted with several companies; this was the only company that assessed the role of my existing duct work (oversized, un-insulated, 1950 vintage) as a function of the end result of heating/cooling my Cape Cod style home. Rec was to downsize and insulate the duct work and slightly increase the tonnage of the furnace. Job was able to be scheduled within a week, crew arrived on time and completed the job within the day. The house is much more comfortable, the middle quality (96% efficiency) has resulted in lower utility costs, and the total cost of the job, including the duct work, was substantially less than other companies' estimates for similar system replacement alone. I will also have them maintain the system twice a year. Highly recommend Bates Mechanical!

These guys are awesome! Gregg. the owner, came out and gave us the estimate. He was very thorough and would explain everything he was looking at and doing, which I appreciated. More importantly he was very nice and very professional. The guys that came out, Matt, Tom, and Kane, were equally as nice and professional. They were quick, courteous, clean, and quite. The equipment looks great as well, they did an awesome job installing everything!! I’m really glad that I went with these guys because I can’t imagine there’s too many company’s out there like this one. A+

The team of 2 installers did a great job. Very professional, on time, removed very old unit and installed new heat pump. Cleaned up completely when done. A great team of everyone involved and very happy with the service. Would hire again!

They did a great job all in one whole day. They stayed until dusk until the worked was done and offered to bring heaters to keep us warmed.

They came when scheduled. One of our team members was a member of the Bates family, and they were both very professional, kind and considerate. They worked through lunch and the system was removed and installed all in the same day. Would highly recommend this team.

They arrived exactly when they said they would and immediately started working. All workers were courteous and took care to lay down rugs to keep flour clean. Work was completed in one day with the exception of replacing a regulator (which was an unexpected issue). The regulator was replaced on the next work day as was promised. They are an exceptional company!

They did a wonderful job and got it done quickly. They took the old furnace out and cleaned up afterwards. They were honest with me about everything as well. Overall, I just had a really pleasant experience.

The guy who came out was very knowledgable, courteous, and professional. He spent plenty of time explaining the options for my new HVAC system. They were slightly more expensive than the other company I had quote. I wouldn't hesitate to use this company in the future, especially if I was installing a geothermal system.

They could not fix my problem; they did not come up with a solution and I had to get another organization to get the issue resolved. I will definitely not use them again in the future.

AC shut down in the heatwave. I called on Saturday morning and Ed was out by early afternoon. He diagnosed a couple of problems, fixed them quickly, explained what he was doing, and was on his way. He was very helpful and answered all my questions. It was a great service visit.

They are very highly rated on Angie's List, and every bit of that is correct. They were very professional, efficient and very accurate on their estimate. I was very pleased with the entire experience.

The guy that comes out is great! He offered advice on other projects I need to tackle as well. They respond very quickly in an emergency. I’ve had nothing but good luck with them!

They did a good job. They were cheaper than the other estimates that I got. They confused me with selling the furnace but they finally got the right guy here. They ordered the parts and got it in. They had overcharged me and as soon as I called it to their attention, they fixed it. They refunded me the difference. Everything is still working well. I would use them in the future.

I have been using this company for about eighteen years. They are terrific! My furnace stopped working during some very cold weather a few years ago. The technician that came to fix the furnace spent all day cleaning it. He did the best he could to make it work properly. It went out again two days later and they came back again. I couldn’t believe the price they charged me. It was such a small amount for the work they did getting my furnace working again. I used them to purchase and install my new furnace two years later. I have them come out twice a year to perform routine maintenance on the unit. If you sign the three year contract they lock your price in for three years on regular services so that it doesn’t go up. If there is a part that needs to be replaced then they will charge for the part only. They call me to remind me it is time for service. I feel blessed with this company. The owners are usually the ones that come to my home.

I thought it was time to replace the filter but couldn't remember where it was located. I stopped by the local Bates Mechanical company office to get a new filter and find out where it was supposed to go. I talked with Brian, a member of the Bates family. He agreed it was time for a filter change and told me not to worry; he would come to my home and inspect the currently used filter and add a new filter. He came to my home 55 minutes later, we changed the old, dirty filter, had a nice talk and the problem was fixed. Plus, they did not charge for installing the filter! This company is the best I have seen in the Bloomington area. They have been in business for decades; the entire family is involved and the results of their work is impressive. We will not use anyone else for our heating and air conditioning needs.

I was pleased with their workmanship and quality. I am very pleased with the product. I will use them again in the future.

Everything’s holding up wonderful. They charged additional fees as they came after hours. I did not have any dislikes about them. I liked that they were able to come out and service the situation because it was pretty hot on Thursday. He was punctual. He told us that he would be here within a given time period and he was here. He explained everything that occurred as far as the capacitor issue and gave us some additional information as well. The worker who came out was fine, very nice and professional. I would use their services again in the future.
