Pavan All Masonry

I had part of a brick wall collapse. The bricks I had were no longer in production which meant that it was going to be difficult to match. David was able to make it look like the damage never happened. The result is much better than I had expected (see the picture to see if you can tell where the repair is). If you didn't know that the wall was repaired, you wouldn't know. I was very impressed with David's skill and experience. He came up a good plan to recover as much of the existing brick work as he could, and he found ways to hide the fact that newer bricks had been added. Fixing an existing wall in which replacement bricks are unavailable is as much of an art as it is a science and he has it down. He was very professional and conscientious, and he left my patio as clean as he found it. I'm extremely happy with the result.

Repair eroded concrete block in foundation and tuck point mortar joints

Dave was wonderful. He was very helpful and repaired with excellent skill what others wanted far more to tear down and replace. Our chimney was repaired quickly and most important it was done right. no more leaks. Excellent communication. Honest. easy to work with. No BS. I'd Hire him again in an instant. Very fair price. Highly recommend. He also was very conscientious about mud and keeping my yard and house clean. He is a skilled Craftsman who knows what he's doing.

Dave Pavan was great to work with. He gave me a very reasonable estimate to repair eroded concrete block on my foundation and to tuck point numerous mortar joints. Dave did a very professional job on the repair. It was quite a bit more involved than it looked to be on the surface and Dave did the extra work without charging extra although I voluntarily increased the payment amount. I would definitely hire Dave again. Thanks Dave.

After receiving and discussing the job with several different stone masons, it quickly became apparent that Dave Pavan was by far the most knowledgeable and experienced of those I requested an estimated from. Dave performed an outstanding job on repairing the corner which has continually failed over the years. Instead of just slapping in mortar, he removed all the mortar joints and stone and relaid it. He ensured that the stone was stabilized with strapping that didn't exist before and took great care in matching the mortar color. It's rare to find a true craftsman like Dave, who takes great pride in doing the work correctly. Dave made sure that the entire area was spotlessly cleaned during and after the work was completed. If you need quality, reliable, and honest workmanship by an experienced craftsman, then Dave is the person to call - and he's just a really nice person too.

Perfect!! Mr. Pavan was professional, on time, cleaned up area each day and did an excellent job. I highly recommend him for any job you need done. I will use him again without question. Our chimney looks brand new!! He is an artist with stone.

Two of those three contractors were not "A" rated in my opinion, one due to a much higher price than the others, and the other due to failure to respond back to questions on the quote despite repeated attempts to connect with that contractor. Pavan All Masonry was selected to do this work and displayed all the attributes of an "A++" contractor in my estimation. He responded promptly to my RFQ, explained exactly what it covered, was very willing to split the job into two time frames to allow other repair in the middle. He was excellent in communicating through out all the work - he was here when he said he would be, and called to explain if he was delayed for some reason. David Pavan, the owner, is almost compulsive about doing the work to the highest levels of quality and earning the customer's satisfaction with his work. I believe he is involved in all the jobs he undertakes in order to ensure they are completed to his high standards. He indicated that he could stain the new bricks to match the old ones if needed, but he was able to locate essentially exact matches to the old bricks by using two different sources. Based on my limited quote experience I believe his prices are very reasonable for the quality of work performed. I plan to use him on some chimney repair work later this year and most likely will not even bother to contact anyone else about doing this work. I highly recommend him without reservation.

The work is very nice and neat. Looks so much better. All mess completely gone! We would definitely hire Dave again.

David's work just makes the front of my house so much more appealing and beautiful. He's a very considerate and easy guy to work with, and always explained to me any delays or what I should expect in terms of dust, clean up, etc. which ended up being VERY important considering I was painting my house at the same time, too! Avoided getting brick/mortar dust all over a freshly painted house thanks to his foresight. I can't thank him enough for helping make my house look so well put together.

Pagan All masonry was quick to respond and get out to my house and he saved me a bunch of money. He said that the fireplace did not need to be rebuilt like I was told by another company and it just needed some caulk in a couple of areas. He even offered to do it himself at no charge but we couldn't find our caulk gun. My husband's filled in the spots and no leaks today even though it has been raining all morning. I appreciate the simple address of the problem and letting us know there was no need to rebuild the whole thing.

Dave Pavan's repair work was excellent. He put much effort towards doing a "perfect" job. The results show it. The new chimney is wonderful and the repair work on the fireplace chimney blended some new bricks with the old bricks beautifully. Also, he cleaned up afterwards. I would definitely call Dave again, if I needed more masonry work!

Great! The project was completed in stages, and took several days working around some inclement weather, but the progress was easy to follow, and Dave had provided excellent details up front, that stepped us through everything. Watching someone build a stone structure is pretty awe inspiring in itself, when you consider the quantity and weight of the concrete mix bags, concrete blocks and large stone slabs! We were impressed by the long days put in and the great work ethic, of Dave and his crew. It's rare to feel like you got more than your monies worth, but Jeff and I definitely feel that way with this particular job and we wonuldn't hesitate to call Dave again when we need any kind of masonry type work done.

David Pavan does outstanding work. He is meticulous, professional and a great communicator. He continuously updated us on the timeline and where we were in the process. Dave did the work he said he would and then went above and beyond to ensure that we were completely happy with the end result. I will definitely work with Dave again in the future. David did a fine job. He is an expert with masonry including stone walls. He does not cut corners and I benefited from his many years of experience, knowing just how to preserve the porous native stone found here in Indiana. The walkway looks great as well. Punctual and a pleasure to do business with.

Dave did a high quality job on my brick pillars and at a very reasonable price. When the stone pieces he needed weren't available at his supplier in Indianapolis, he went to the quarry near Bloomington to special order them. He came when he said would come and got the job done in half a day. I will call Dave again if I have any additional masonry or tile related work that needs to be done in the future..

Dave did an excellent job. He was very meticulous both in the brick laying and the cleanup of the area. He analyzed why the old design failed (cracked mortar joints and crumbling bricks) and suggested a new design. Dave's estimate was lower than another estimate from a different Angies List provider.

Dave was punctual, professional, and responsive. Best of all, he did first rate job. It became obvious that this guy is an expert, who knows about everything related to masonry, and all the things others might not think of. The repair was a success. On the back side of the retaining wall he went down three blocks deep, but found only the top course needed to be filled due to the the way the wall moved. On the visible side he reset one capstone on the crack he quoted on, and noticed another one, so he went ahead and took care of it at no additional cost. It looked fine to me after the first trip, but He made a second trip back (in the pouring rain) to scrub to remove what he considered cloudiness left in the mortar. I am very pleased with his work and will use him for any other masonry work.

Did a nice job. Price was reasonable and he was very prompt.

Dave is a pro. He came in, told me what he thought needed to happen. The patio was left in rough shape, lots of mortar on the stone, sloppy joints, sloppy cuts, missing stones. He spent several days cleaning up the joint lines and acid washing the entire patio several times. He even went back to the stone yard to get an extra piece and cut it to give one corner a more finished look! Overall grade of B because the acid washing did cause some rust spots, which Dave said could happen. But given what he started with, he did a tremendous job.
