+ -1 moreWe moved the water heather location in addition to having all new appliances installed. At first, it seemed as if everything was fine. But after a year and a half, we had a $580 repair because the flue on the water heater had stopped working and was venting dangerous hot gases back into the house damaging the water heater and requiring the flue to be redone. Ridgway said it was not blocked and he saw no reason that it stopped working. Nothing else had changed in that time. After researching this particular issue, I found that it is usually caused by improper installation, so we reviewed the photos from the original installation. The contractor insists that it was fine. From our photos, it appears it did not have enough rise, but I am not a professional to determine for certain. Now I do not have confidence in my son there without paying for someone else to inspect to verify that it is up to code and working correctly. I am just thankful that it was caught before there was serious injury or property damage.
Description of Work: new furnace, air conditioner, and water heater.
