I like the most, their perfectionism. The quality was very good. They were punctual. They worked hard. They strived to do good quality work. I don't want to pay for anything.
Description of Work: I used MG Landscape & Irrigation. They relandscaped around my new pool. They installed a new stone wall and pavers. They landscaped. They put in natural stone steps.

Matt comes off as a nice individual. But he has a tendency to blow off committments and make excuses as to why he has not come out for a service call. He would do himself a world of good if he was more prompt and notify his customers when he was going to show up. That has definitely been the frustrating part in dealing with Matt. I'm not sure who else helps him run his business but he could certainly use some help in customer service skills.
Description of Work: I asked Matt to install an irrigation system in my yard which is fairly small last year. I asked for a quote in late April 2010. I decided I go with him since he offered a fairly good rate compared to the other people I had estimates from. He told me he would be out in a couple of weeks in early May. Middle of May comes and no call from him. So I call him up and he tells me they are running behind due to the rain. In his defense, it was a fairly rainy May. So he said he would be out by the end of next week. Next week comes and goes and no call. I call him again. We do this for several months until he finally randomly comes out of the woodwork on the weekend before 4th of July after my wife semi-threatens to go with someone else. He installs the system in about 2 and half days work. The yard was a little banged up which is expected a bit. Then he leaves me with the intructions of the wrong Rain Bird System to read over before he explains the system the next day. I told him afterwards that this in not the correct intructions to the system he installed and he then grabs me the right manual out of his truck. He briefly goes over the settings with me as I am in a rush to leave for an appointment that day. I then had a problem with the system not turning on. He was finishing up putting in the rain sensor as I was leaving and looked like he nicked up the wires. He then was telling me how to fix it. I told him I didn't have wire strippers or anything and asked him that he have someone come out to fix it as I did not feel comfortable doing this especially since it was just installed. He finished up the job a couple days later and since has been difficult to get a hold of to winterize my system as well as turn it on in the spring. He didn't leave me a notice that he had winterized my system. He later sent me something in the mail in February that said he did winterize it after he told me he'd send me the notice in December. I called him to report a problem recently about my rain sensor not correctly detecting the appropriate amount of rainfall. He told me he'd be out by the end of the week or next week. About 3 weeks later, he has not notified me one way or the other.

Poor follow through and extremely rude customer service from owner My wife and I had MG landscaping and irrigation come to our home for a quote on a backyard patio and irrigation system. While we were getting quotes from other sources, we decided to order two trees from MG to be delivered and installed. We verbally ordered the trees in late February 2011. After they did not come for two weeks, I called and placed a formal order in March. I was told that it would be ?a couple of weeks? but when the trees did not come for one month, I called multiple times and was told each time that they had gotten behind due to rain. Over a matter of the next two months, I received rude responses from Matt, the owner. The last week of May I was again told that it would be one week for my trees. After another week of waiting, we cancelled our order after I called to see why the trees were not delivered. This time we again received a rude response, without any sort of apology from Matt, stating that they oversold this year and were extremely behind and overwhelmed with their work. In fact, he actually told me that they cannot keep people like me happy. I informed him that I simply wanted my trees delivered and installed. If they cannot keep people like me happy, how are they keeping their business open? Without hesitation, they certainly are not going to get our business regarding the patio and I would encourage others to look at the other numerous options available.

Beyond expectation. After schedule issues were resolved, work proceeded very quickly and with remarkable workmanship. Matt's artistic design and landscaping direction coupled with Chris' meticulous attention to detail in the hardscape site prep, wall/grill/firepit paver construction was very reassuring. MG brings the right equipment to the job site, which I felt was key to making good progress. We love our new patio and landscaping and our neighbors can't believe the beauty it has added to our home.
Description of Work: 1. Hardscape and Landscape Design. 2. Removed old wooden deck. 3. Built approx 850 SF slate-like engineered concrete paver product. 4. Built approx 35 LF of tumbled paver seating wall and built in grill/bar enclosure. 5. Installation of 6 Low Voltage Lighting fixtures. 6. Built approx. 6 FT dia gas fire pit using tumbled pavers. 7. Installed gas line extension and service runs to grill and firepit. 8. Movement/Replacement of existing hot tub and associated electrical. 9. Extensive grading and landscaping around hardscape. 10. Significant site restoration of work areas including sod placement.
