Jake does a great job, without mess and tells us what is going on so we aren't suprised. Price was reasonable.

We were aware that our sewer was clogged. We called several other companies and they could not get to us for several days. Our sewer line was completely clogged and we could not use our facilities at all. Another plumbing company gave us Jake Miller's phone number. When we phoned him, he was on a job close by and said that he'd be over when finished. In a short while, he arrived (about 15 minutes) and did the work. He was professional, competent and personable. The recommendation came from Powers Septic and Sewer Company as Powers was unavailable at the time.

I have been a customer of Jake Miller Plumbing since fall of 2000. We literally picked him out of a phone book back then, and I will never use another plumbing company. He has done every large plumbing job in my house including installing two new hot water heaters, a soft water system, a whole house water filter, installing 2 bathroom Corian countertops, and various other cosmetic changes throughout 11+ years and about 8 service calls. For this recent experience he arrived on time with an assistant. They wore bootsies over their shoes to protect my floors. We discussed the list of items to be worked on, and he offered great advice on one of those issues which I followed. They did not leave a mess under the kitchen sink or anywhere, and they did not waste any time during the "on the clock" 1 1/2 hours spent here, and at the end Jake always takes the time to socialize and get to know his customers.

Great experience. I have had Jake tot he house two, maybe three times. I would hire him again if needed.

Jake helped us recover from a breach in our water softener tank that sent resin into our lines. Jake made room for us in his schedule and encouraged us in doing some of the simple work ourselves to save $$. We know that this type of event can cause major problems, so we feel that Jake's prompt response really helped save our systems, appliances and $$.

He did good work for us. He's an intelligent, respectful plumber who is promt and reliable.

Jake responded very quickly to our call, even though we said it was not a rush. He showed up in the window of time he estimated, and finished the work very quickly.

We have used him for a number of years, and we've always been very pleased. He is a good family man. He backs up his work if we have a problem with anything. He is reliable, and he comes when he says he will come. His prices are probably a little above average, but I'm not sure.

Mr. Miller installed a new more modern spigot and piping system for my exterior faucets. He also fixed a leaky faucet in the MBA. The fix he did to the exterior faucet cost a little more but was the right fix to do based on my crawl space foundation. He was honest and punctual. I had a water leak in my downstairs living room. Another company determined the leak was due to a water leak at the elbow behind an upstairs sink (and directly above the ceiling where damage occurred). The other company wanted to charge me $500 to fix this leak. Within 5 minutes and a handful of questions, Jake Miller Plumbing determined the leak was due to damaged roof flashing around the plumbing vent pipe. It took Jake 45 minutes to complete the repair ... and I saved $340 ... not to mention a correct diagnosis.

We have used Jake Miller Plumbing for several years now. Jake is usually punctual and professional. Historically, I have spent thousands of dollars with him on several large projects. We called him around the second week in May because there was an intermittent problem with our sewage pump in the utility room. On May 14th he came out, diagnosed the problem, removed some toilet paper that was lodged at the top of the pump, and charged us $138 and said it was fixed. We rarely use our basement bathroom but did have guests for the Memorial Day weekend. On Saturday morning the 23rd (9 days later) we had a flooded utility room. I was gone so my wife called Jake's cell phone and told him that that we were still having the issue and that we were having a graduation party in 2 days. He said "I can't come unless you pay me a $350 emergency trip charge!" If not, he said he would not help us. Needless to say, my wife felt the pressure of the pending party and said to come out. She proceeded to write a check for $350 and leave it an envelope for Jake in the utility room. I got home as my wife was running out the door and she simply said, "hey, the basement pump had issues again, Jake is coming and I had to leave him a $350 check. I decided to stick around to oversee the hours worth of work and to question him about the charges. I thought we were on friendly terms considering the amount of work we had given him in the past. He and his family has fished on our lake, they used our boats, I know where the kids go to school, and I know that he just built a brand new home. Needless to say I was shocked when he handed me a bill for $788.70 for the job. He put up his guard right away and said "hey, I told your wife $350 for the trip charge. I thought I could say 'hey Jake, how about cutting us a little slack considering this didn't get fixed the first time?" Not only did he NOT admit the fact that he didn't fix the problem the first time, he gouged us on the price of the pump and of course was not bending on the emergency trip charge. Ironically, when I questioned him, he had the nerve to say, we always complained when he gives us the bill. Granted my wife did question his charge on the last trip because it was so quick. She actually asked him to look at an upstairs bathroom toilet that keeps clogging up... he actually complained about the fact that she asked him to look at a couple other things since we were paying for an hour minimum anyway. By the way, the upstairs toilet that he looked at still has a problem. The bottom line is we paid about $930 to replace a $300 part. There are three things that really bothered me with this issue. #1. Jake Miller didn't stand behind his first visit. #2. The tactics to strong-arm my wife into the emergency service charge. #3. He had the ironic nerve to comment on us questioning his invoices and called us complainers when all he did was complain about being there instead of being at home to get ready for a vacation.

We are repeat customers of Jake's. He does a great job and is very professional. He indicated that the water heater that had failed was a brand that did not last as long as a good quality water heater (we had already replaced it once with the same model that the builder installed since it had been under warranty). He actually charged us less than the company who had replaced the other heater when it was under warranty - their "labor only" costs were higher than the entire job that he did - what a pleasant surprise. They were able to quickly get us on Jake's schedule, but even in the two days that we waited we encountered the sink problem (clogged drain). I put a call in the afternoon before he was to come and they quickly added that job to our service call as well. This was more costly than I expect (about $100), but having a kitchen sink that drains is priceless when you have kids! I will continue to recommend him - it is always great to be able to use a family business.

They were on time and in fact, the only plumbing company that gave me a very reasonable estimate. They finished their work without disruptions and were very fast. They even had the time to play with our dog afterward.

Jake Miller called before he was scheduled to arrive to explain the supply store where he had intended to buy the battery back-up did not have it, so he would be late because he had to go to another supply store. Once he arrived, he installed the battery back-up for the sump pump and investigated the problem with the sewer ejector pump. The switch was faulty and the shut off mechanism was old, so the pump kept pumping when there was nothing left to pump and made a terrible noise. Jake suggested it be replaced, and quoted a price to do it that day, or return another day (and pay for another service call). We decided to have him replace it that day, which he did. We were very happy with the service.

He has demonstrated integrity in all my dealings with him. He said he'd be more than happy to come out, but he said he would like to help save us the money and was very fair when he did the original install. He really worked with me on price, and disposed of an old sink that would have been hard for me to get rid of. You can tell he's a nice person and cares about making the customer happy.

Jake did a great job, was very knowledgeable and personable. He took the time to clean up the area after his work was through. I called in the morning, and they were able to work me in later the same day. I plan on using Jake for some more plumbing work in the near future.

Jake did a great job. He had to remove a portion of the wall to diagnose the problem. The leak was fixed quickly. He gave me his thoughts on what another plumber had recommended (at a much higher price) and also gave me his opinion on what had caused the problem.

WHAT A JOY - AN HONEST PLUMBER! JAKE WAS SPEEDY, CLEAN, COURTEOUS AND DIDN'T TREAT ME LIKE I WAS STUPID BECAUSE I AM A WOMAN! A COMPETITOR HAD COME TO MY HOME TO PROVIDE AN ESTIMATE AND WANTED TO CHARGE ME BETWEEN $400 AND $600 TO DO THE JOB. I FOUND JAKE THROUGH A REFERRAL OF A GENERAL CONTRACTOR WHO LIVES IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD. WOULD USE AGAIN!

THEY ARE VERY RESPONSIVE AND PROFESSIONAL. EVERYTHING WAS DONE EXACTLY AS THEY HAD SPECIFIED. WE'VE RECOMMENDED THEM TO FRIENDS WHO HAVE USED THEM AND ALSO HAD GREAT RESULTS.

THEY RETURNED PHONE CALLS IMMEDIATELY, WERE OUT THE NEXT DAY FOR THE ESTIMATE. THE COST WAS THE SAME AS THE ESTIMATE. HE WAS VERY NEAT AND ON TIME. ALL AROUND EXCELLENT SERVICE.
