Two Men And A Truck

Description of Work: "There Ft. Wayne In. operation quoted me 3 Trucks 6 men & $2,800. |When they showed up there were 4 men & 1 truck. When questioned, they said 2 trucks was 2 trips, not 2 motorized vechiles. When we arrived at our new home with the 2nd ""trip""the moving team informed me that they were told that they had to get a check from me & I had to sign waivers & contracts, before they could unload anything on the ""2nd trip"". The team leader, suggested that I call their office in the morning & he was sure they would make an adjustment, because although they had seen problems with quotes from there office with customers before, he had never seen his company treat a customer as poorly as we had been treated today. |The move team did an excellent job, but they were told they had to leave our home by midnight. Consequently: |They didn't complete the move, Left the house a mess, left furniture they took apart to get in the house in a pile in the basement, we are still looking for the parts, & shelves for bookcases they took apart. 3 Antiques were damaged, some other furniture also. |I called their office the next morning & was told that this was all my fault!!! & they weren't going to do anything about it. |I contacted their corporate office & after 2 weeks of ""run around"", I was told that each franchise was independently owned & operated & they had no control over how they operated or treated their customers. |Both Corp. & the local office told me I could sue if I'd like to, but they have a large legal team & I would just be wasting my time. |This happened June 30,2016 & we are still digging out & trying to put our furniture back together. |I rec'd a quote from ""Hoover the Mover"" very reputable Company, they said it would take 5 men 2 days & a semi to move our belongings, at an estimate of $3,800.00. |I rented U-Hauls & moved about 10 loads of boxes to storage before ""2 Men's"" estimator came out to give us a price, He said 6 men 3 trucks & $2,800 to do the move. He also told my wife that they would take apart some exercise equip., move it & reassemble. I pulled another 10-15 loads of boxes out prior to them showing up on the 30th. I called them & asked if they wanted to send their estimator back out to see if wanted to only send 2 trucks & 4 men, since I moved so many boxes out of the house. They never sent anyone back to do a recheck, but they sent 4 men & ONE TRUCK. The men said they were all that was coming. |Luckily, I had another Uhaul rented moving day & took an additional 2 loads out of the house myself with the help of my wife, daughter & 2 Grand kids |STAY AWAY FROM TWO MEN & A TRUCK... SINCE THEIR CORPORATE OFFICE ALLOWS THERE FRANCHISES OPERATE IN THIS MANNER........Hard to Believe, But True. |Before retiring, I owned & operated 2 Large Marathon Service stations. Corp. sent out ""mystery shoppers"" to make certain their locations met their standards. If an owner rec'd 3 scores less than 90%, they were fined & put on ""probation"", a 4th score less than 90% & Marathon removed their signage. |PERHAPS ""TWO MEN'S"" CORP OFFICE SHOULD ADAPT SIMILAR GUIDELINES, & FORCE THEIR FRANCHISES TO TREAT THEIR CUSTOMERS WITH PROPER SERVICE. |$2,800 Quote to move our furnishings completely, $3,495 bill & they didn't finish the job....& it was ""all my fault"". | Evidently this company does not follow the ""Customer is always right"" or even, ""Sometimes, even if they are not Completely right, Our philosophy is Make it right."" |There Company philosophy is ""Give a Quote to get the business, Then do anything & charge anything we want"". | |"

Description of Work: Moved our office and a few months later moved our home.

Description of Work: They provided in-town moving services for us. We did not need them to pack anything up and we had moved a lot of small things ourselves.
