I wish to share an experience I had exactly one hour ago with employees of this company. I was at a gas station getting gas when a white van with the Top Quality Painting & Home signage on the side pulled up to the pump in front of mine. A young man in his 20s got out of the passenger side and made a rude, snarky, and mildly homophobic remark about my vehicle. I waved him off as he snickered at his own bad joke and walked inside. The older gentleman who was driving the vehicle said nothing and walked inside as if this was normal behavior. I cannot speak to the quality of their painting work, but I thought this experience reflected very poorly on the company. If I were the owner, I would be ashamed to have people like this representing my company. If they are this rude to a complete random stranger in public, then how do they treat their customers?
Description of Work: No services performed.

We hired Top Quality Painting for painting, staining, door and trim work, on July 26, 2012. We were told they would begin August 3, 2012 and the job would take a week. Its now August 31st and the job is not completed nor are they even bothering to show up when scheduled. On August 3rd I waited for the contractors and no one showed. I contacted the company the morning they were suppose to start to find out what time they would be arriving and was told they couldn't begin the job August 8th. On August 8th, no one showed or called. I finally called was told that they had a delay and was planning on calling me some time that day to see if they could begin the job August 13th. I stated that was not acceptable, the job had already been delayed once. They finally showed up later that day to begin working. The second day they were at my house working, one of the painters unplugged the transformer outlet to my security system which is hardwired to my security panel. Instead of letting me know so it could be properly disconnected, the painter literally ripped the wires out of the plug. I had to have my security company come to my home on a service call to fix the problem, which cost me a service call. The next day, the painter that had ripped the wires out asked the security service technician to lie about the cause of the problem so his boss wouldn?t take the cost of the service call out of his paycheck. The security service technician told him no .I made very clear that while I had a sample of the paint color to give them, I wanted everything painted in an eggshell finish so it could be easily wiped down. They painted all walls in flat paint. The owner stated that it was his error, but if I wanted it repainted, he could give me a really good deal. They failed to fulfill all the jobs on the contract. They contracted to change all of my outlets, which was not done. I had to call in an electrician to complete that portion of the job. They have made no mention of paying that bill or deducting the cost from their estimate.Almost every day during this process, I was told "we'll be there first thing in the morning" or given a specific time and I have taken time off of work to wait for them only to have no one show and no one call. I almost always had to call to find out if they were coming.Top Quality Painting started having one of their workers come in his "off" time with his brother. They sporadically show up if at all. Below has been my experience with them just since August 17th and unfortunately, has been the norm during this process: Friday 8/17 - I was told that they would be back Monday to continue working. Monday 8/20 ? No one showed to work. I called and was informed that the workers would be there later that afternoon and also first thing Tuesday morning. Approximately 4:00PM, they arrived and began applying the finishing coats on the doors and trim. Contrary to what I had been told earlier that day, the worker stated he would be back Wednesday. Tuesday 8/21 ? No one showed to work. Wednesday 8/22 - No one showed to work as I had been told Monday night they would. I called them and was told they weren?t sure what was going on and they put the owner on the phone who handed the phone off to one of his workers. I asked him if and when they would be coming out to work on my job, and he informed me that they were all in Ohio to do another job. I asked to talk to the owner again who stated that he didn?t know what the big deal was and that they had other jobs to do. The owner stated that he would send a worker out later that afternoon, and promised to have my job totally completed by the end of the weekend. He finally showed around 6:00PM, worked for a short time and that they would be back on Thursday. Thursday 8/23 ? No one showed to work. I called and talked to the worker who told me that he would be out later the next day in the afternoon sometime between 3:00 - 4:00PM. Friday 8/24 - No one showed to work. At approximately 6:45 PM I called and left a message with the person that answered the phone. About 6:55PM, the worker called me back and informed me that they wouldn?t be coming out at all. He stated they would be out Saturday and work all day and would get about 70% of it ?knocked out? and finish the rest of the job Sunday. Saturday 8/25 ? No one showed to work. I called and spoke with the worker. He and his brother finally showed around 6:00 PM and stayed long enough to hang one door and put casing around that door and a window. He stated that they were ?taking off?. I asked him about the 70% they were going to get finished and he assured me that he and two other men would be out on Sunday and with the three of them working, they would have it finished on Sunday. Sunday 8/26 ? One worker arrived with 1:30 PM and began working. After a couple of hours when I saw that not much progress had been made I asked when the other two workers would be coming. I was told that they were working on another job for someone else. I called one of the workers who told me that he had no way to get to my house. About 6:30 PM he finally showed. Monday 8/27 ? One of the workers called me around 10:00 AM to tell me that he and another guy would be out between 1:00 ? 3:00PM. No one showed or called. Around 3:45PM, My husband and I called and spoke with the owner who was yelling, was very rude and insulting. After a few minutes, his attitude suddenly changed. He blamed his workers and said he was about to fire all of them. He ranted for a while about unreliable employees. I told him that while I understand what he is saying, he has never once shown up to my site to see how it was progressing and when I try to call him, he never returns the calls or has someone else call me back. He said that his workers would be at my place around 5:00 PM and said that he, personally, was coming out that night to see what progress they had made and address our concerns. He never showed nor called. In fact, to this day I haven?t heard from him since that conversation. Around 6:15PM no one had shown or called. I called and spoke with someone from Top Quality Painting, who said he would call the owner right away and let him know that no one had shown up. After I hung up, I also called the owner?s cell number but it went to voice mail and I never got to speak with him. Shortly before 6:30 PM, a worker arrived. Around 7:10PM he told me and my husband that the other worker had just gotten off of another job and would be here in a half an hour. He never showed and never called. Over an hour later, the worker told us that he couldn?t get a hold of the other guy that there really wasn?t anything he could do by himself, then he left. Tuesday, 8/28 ? A worker called around 10:00AM and stated that they will be at my house between 2:00-3:00PM. One showed and began hanging one set of the bi-fold doors and baseboard. I left for a short time to run some errands. When I returned, the bi-fold doors were hung, but had been severely over cut, leaving a 2 inch gap between the floor and the bottom of the doors at one end, and about a 2 1/4 inch gap at the other end. This set of bi-fold doors sits side by side with another set of bi-fold doors of the same size. The mistake was huge and extremely noticeable, even if they were not sitting next to each other, it was still immediately noticeable. Another worker that was there agreed with me that they had been overcut and would need to be replaced. I tried to talk with the worker that had cut the doors about it but he became angry and immediately stopped working, packed up his tools and left without saying another word. To Date - I have not received one call from anyone, including the owner, from that company since that night. My job remains unfinished and now. The bi-folds are not only overcut but also unevenly cut. None of the doors are completely nor properly sanded and now not only do I have to pay an electrician?s bill and a security service technician?s bill because of them, I also have to replace a set of poplar bi-fold doors that cost me $273.00 and it appears as though I also have to pay someone else to come finish the job.

UPDATE: Stormed out of arbitration, judgement entered against them requiring payment by January 3rd....never paid! Complaint being filed with the State Attorney General's Office and CBBB.
