They did a fairly good job on the Spanish Lace, but there was a place in the ceiling in the hallway where the wallboard had separated and needed to be fixed. They just painted over it. When I pointed it out, he said that it was just where the house settled. I'm not sure about that because it is the only crack in the ceiling. When I asked them to fix it, he said that they had already put Spanish Lace over it and they would have to bring the machine back. It looks pretty good, but there is still a big crack there. Thank goodness it is in the back of the house by the laundry room and invisible. Also I had them paint my living room and parts of the Spanish Lace are not covered well. I think it needed two coats. The tape between the ceiling and wallboard was split and they painted over that and left it. They didn't fix anything; they just painted over it. There were some lumps coming out of the wall and I thought they would fix those, but they didn't. He should have told me ahead of time, so I could have had someone fix it before they started painting. They wanted paid before they were done. I thought their price was high because my house is small. I felt they just wanted to buzz in, paint and get paid. He said he would come back and fix things. They were here on time when they painted. I would not use them again because I actually got mad at him and told him what I thought.
Description of Work: I used Quality Painting in 2001 to Spanish Lace all of my ceilings.

Then I came home after work one day and found the house to be fuming with the smell of paint. I had covered some of the furniture near to the patio the night before, but never thought they were going to use a sprayer to paint my steel patio door. I had to clean up this mess and that was bad. Then lastly, in my bathroom, they scraped off the wall paper by hand and had to take off the toilet bowl cover in order to get behind to do further work. I asked the man to put the cover back on the toilet when he had finished, and after a long discussion, he finally agreed and did so. Two days after they had left, the entire plumbing upstairs backed up. It turns out that wall paper debris was backed up inside my plumbing from their job.
Description of Work: They painted the bathroom, kitchen, and steel patio door of our home, taking about 2 weeks to complete the job. They used oil based paint and a sprayer for the steel door, 1 coat of eggshell colored paint for the kitchen, and latex paint for the bathroom. They needed to prepare for the painting, so they stripped wallpaper by hand in the bathroom, and did fine sanding and drywall patching throughout. To say that we were completely dissatisfied with the job these people did would be an understatement. At first, they needed money to get paint and told us they would be applying two coats of eggshell paint on our kitchen. I walked in the room while they were about to paint and they informed me that only one coat would be necessary. The outcome of the kitchen looked good but I was told later by some other professional painters that 2 coats should have been applied.

Quality Painting's two painters arrived on time and did a very neat job. It took two to three days, especially given multiple coats, but they were extremely clean and very neat in their work. Dick would often leave their equipment outside my home very early in the morning so that it was there for them first thing when they arrived. Dick was always very customer-focused and wanted to make sure that I was happy with the work. The two painters (both women) were very pleasant to have around, although I felt bad that one was allergic to my cats, so she had to wear a special mask.
Description of Work: I asked Quality Painting to estimate the cost of painting my living room/dining room area and entrance hallway. The living room/dining room in particular has a very high vaulted ceiling, so this was far beyond my means to paint. There were a number of areas involving detail trim work, too.
