Great work, fast, courteous. We will continue to use him for any masonry that needs done in the future.
Description of Work: A few years ago, Ken Masoner did a brick sidewalk in our back yard. Last year he repaired the stone work at the bottom of our porch and the base of our pillars. This year we had a new railing put in and his sons came and did patch work in the stone where the old railing had been removed.

Ken is one of the most knowledgable people I've ever met. We're new homeowners, and when we had water seeping into a room from a chimney, we weren't sure who to call. Ken was able to address the problem immediately, and he set the job out in stages. I learned a lot about our house through his explanations of how and why the problems we had were happening. And then they did a fantastic job making the repairs. He was very responsive through texts. He charges a fair price for his work. The work is completed with high quality, and he has an interest in making sure his work lasts for a long time. I would definitely recommend giving him a call.
Description of Work: Ken did two jobs for us, one in January and one in September. He replaced the liner in our boiler chimney and then repaired and replace brick on that chimney.

Ken worked with me on scheduling so that he could finish on a Saturday while I was there to let him in the house. He recommended stucco restoration vs. a complete teardown of the chimney which would have been much more costly, and he did a nice job installing a fireplace insert with liner and termination cap. He accepted the shipment of my very heavy insert and brought it with him on a Saturday. Ken and his sons also traveled about 50 miles to get to my house. Overall a very good experience and very satisfied with the work.
Description of Work: Ken restored a somewhat large chimney with a stucco exterior and installed a woodburning fireplace insert.

It went well - Ken built the scaffolding one afternoon, and completed the work the next day, I think. He seemed very knowledgeable and wanting to do things correctly - even if it was more work. THis is what we wanted. We didn't want a fix quick that might hold up for a year or two, we wanted a job well done that would last 30 years, and that's what we got.
Description of Work: We had a huge leak from the flashing around our chimney. He removed the old flashing and put in new flashing and repaired the mortar in the chimney and relaid the shingles properly.

While receiving estimates from several contractors for new roofing, it was pointed out that the chimney was in need of repairs. Since I had contracted Masoner & Sons for masonry repairs several years ago, I contacted Ken Masoner to see if he would be available for this job, as well as some work on the brickwork above the foundation. He was very prompt in coming by and providing an estimate, and was able to complete the work shortly afterward. I will definitely call him anytime I need masonry work or repairs.

Work went very well. Ken had two helpers and the total work time was four hours each. Due to a very busy work schedule it took appoximately six weeks before the job was started. That was okay with me, as I was not in much of a hurry. Once the work was started, they didn't stop until everything was completed to my satisfaction. Clean up was excellent.

I left a voice mail call back very quickly made an appointment for two days later. He showed up early looked at my problem and discussed and said no need to replace which he could have but was very honest and told me how to fix. He would not tke any money for his time. I would use him if needed this is the type of contactor who would give you the price not pad it and do great work.

Ken and his wife came out to the house to look at the work that needed to be done. We had just had the house painted and the painter noticed that the exterior of the chimney needed some work. Ken looked it over, wrote up an estimate and we approved of the service. Due to the extremely harsh winter, Ken was not able to complete the work until April 2014, which was fine with us.He called us frequently to keep us informed. Ken and his son repaired the chimney and painted it to match the house. We are very happy with his service and I will use him again.

The masonry work was $900 and the interior painting which included ceilings was $750. The masonry work was impeccable. You can't even tell where it was. We will be using them again in the future to do some ceramic floors. They were great and the price was very competitive.

We could not have been happier with the service, promptness, professionalism and final job. The owner who did the job himself along with his sons, made sure I knew everything that would be done and even double checked with me several times to make sure that everything was looking as I wanted it to. The job was done efficiently and thoroughly and I appreciated their promptness and a confirmation the night before that they would be coming the next morning. We love our brick wall and will refer anyone to use Masoner & Sons!

This is the 3rd property we've used Masoner and Sons for. Our 1st one, he came out, inspected our chimney and diagnosed our problem. He was able to get it fixed for 1/3 the cost of another competitor and didn't charge me extra for coming out, like his competitor did. He fixed the leak and we haven't had an issue again. We then had him do a recommended chimney inspection (not a hugely involved one - more of a sight inspection), and he didn't charge us for it since he was able to help us in a few minutes. He's been a great addition to our go to rental call list for repairs/inspections. On our most recent one he inspected our home chimney for using it for fires on cold nights. It had never been used by us. He gave us the green light and also some helpful pointers that we will be using in the future.

Ken and his crew did a remarkable job matching the color of the existing mortar, which was my main priority. The work they performed was outstanding. They took the time to prep the cracks and filled them in so the work is barely noticeable. A few bricks needed to be replaced and Ken took the time to find some bricks nearly matched. They also repaired some concrete steps leading up to my front porch and it looks great. I recommend them for any brick or concrete work.

The job went smoothly, and Ken said he will return in the Spring to check to make sure the cracks are not reforming. The job was very professional as they even put up scaffolding. In addition, they cleaned the driveway of all debris when the job was complete.
Description of Work: They filled the cracks that were present between the bricks of our garage. Ken said that the cracks probably developed after the initial settling of the house, and then the presence of water(rain) which widened them.

I hired Ken to partially brick up a kitchen window in my brick home in order to install a smaller window in that wall. He did an excellent job matching the new brick to the outside brick. He gave me many suggestions on care and on restoring the exposed brick in my kitchen. He completed the project in one morning. I am very happy with the work he and his brother did. I would highly recommend him to others.

I called Masoner & Sons to repair my brick home's chimney, and the building's exterior walls were they were cracking below and around windows and doors. They worked with my schedule and the appointment was set quickly. The owner, Ken, arrived early with two assistants (his son and brother), with a plan of action for the day's work - taking into account the precarious weather situation we faced. Ken explained what he was doing as he was working. He was very professional, and answered all my questions cheerfully. The crew worked quickly and meticulously to repair many cracks in the home's brickwork. The finished chimney looks fantastic, as do the walls. The repairs blend seamlessly with the existing mortar and brick, and I'm confident they will last a very long time. I am very happy with the work he performed, and will definitely refer him to family and friends. His final bill was exactly the amount quoted, even though the crew repaired more items than originally agreed upon. In the future, he will be the person I call when I am ready to add a paver pathway to the landscaping, or if I need any other concrete, stone or brick projects done right!

It was a good experience all the way around. They came out to quote with an $80 fee for the long distance, which was later applied against the bill, so it was only a fee if they didn't get the job. There was a lack of professionalism on the phone - answered with "Hello", etc., but I would not hold that against them. They were very professional when doing the job. They estimated it at a 12 hour day and were done in 8. They even did additional tuck pointing on an exterior wall that looked good from what we saw when quoting at no additional cost. We will definitely be calling them out next time we have brickwork maintenance to do.

Super Happy with Ken Masoner and the job done replacing my chimney caps. He had the caps made out of stainless by a local shop and it took much longer than anticipated, (but really no big deal to me as I wasn't on a pressing timeframe) He also underestimated the cost somewhat from the shop but didn't pass that cost on to me. He also repaired a couple of other items on my roof at no charge. Masoner and Sons are very professional and come highly recommended by me!
