Jasper Painting

My intention was to paint our house myself. I had bought the paint and started, but I began to run out of time to finish it before the weather turned cold, so I found Jasper Painting on Angie's List and left a message requesting a quote. A couple days later MikeSullivan talked to my wife, and by the time I came home from work there was his quote. I nformed him I had already bought the paint, so he requoted at a lower price, and we hired him just to do three sides. He assured us they would stay on our job until it was fnished before moving on to another job I intended to finish the front myself, but when I saw what a great job they were doing and how fast they were getting it done, I asked them to quote the front as well. We hired Michael and Dan to finish the job. On final inspection after they had moved their equipment, I noted they missed a small corner. I let Mike know and he came by within hours and finished it. My wife was thrilled to have it done before family came for the weekend. I was happy I did not have to rent a 32-foot extension ladder to paint the highest peak and had time to get my other work done. Michael Sullivan was a delight to work with. He was personable and professional and obviously takes pride in his work and pleasing his customer. I would hire them again. We thank the reviewers on Angie's List for pointing us to a great contractor. We are happy to return the favor by submitting this review. The reason I gave them a B on price and not an A is because we did not get other quotes, so we have no way of knowing if it was better than others'. We were obviously pleased with the price or we would have obtained other quotes. Even if they were a little higher, we are more than happy to pay more for higher quality work and the care they took of our property.

They did a great job until they got paid! Except they missed the side garage door and two very high eves that I can not reach and I paid them in full. I have left several messages and they have told me on two dates they would come and paint the areas. They failed to show up each time. I had the work done end of May and now we are almost mid - September and I have to hire another painter to come out and finish the job! Very sad!!!!! I will give you this advice if you plan to use them. do not pay them all the money until you have had a few days to look at the paint in all the light and then when you see the areas that have been missed (which is normal) have them come back out and finish the job and then finish paying them. Make sure you hold back enough pay another painter to come and finish. Again, I am very disappointed. Also makes me wonder how the paint job will hold up when they won't even come back when they have promised they would. I would like to update, after the review they did come out and finish. They do wonderful work, but do need to work on the follow up and returning phone calls

We had worked on the exterior of our house a few times, sanding, scraping, painting, but were overwhelmed with the amount of work that needed to be done. Jasper painting had a deal on Angie's list for a specific square footage for a specific price, so we decided to give them a try. They called us quickly and said they would come out to give us a quote in a couple of weeks when they were available. We weren't home for their initial walk around but Mike Sullivan and his wife stopped by the next day to talk with us. We felt comfortable with them right away so we asked Mike to give us a quote on the house, garage door, gutters, and some trim work as well. After our meeting, things started moving very quickly and our house was power washed by Jeremy the next day. He did a great job and it looked better just having all that peeling paint removed, but more bare spots were now showing. Jeremy said the house was going to soak up a lot of paint and he would make sure Mike picked up more paint if it was needed. The following day, Dan Jasper stopped by to do a walk around before they came to paint. He had some good ideas on colors and what it would look like if all of the trim was painted. We loved the idea. Dan, Mike and Jeremy showed up to paint around 8:30am and we talked to Mike about giving us a quote to do the extra work on the trim. They were polite and hard workers. Each morning Mike would ask if we saw anything that we wanted them to do differently or that they missed and each evening before they left they cleaned up. Mike told us that while he was working on a house it was "his house" and he treated it the way he would want his house to be treated and painted - and he actually did. On the last day they asked us to walk around the house for a final inspection. We loved it! We were surprised that they had trimmed out areas we hadn't even thought about. They also painted the gas meter and the other boxes against the house to blend in. We will call them when it's time to paint our house again.

Dan Jasper has painted our house three times since we moved here. Each time the quality of the work is exceptional. This time was even better. The house and trim look fantastic. Dan has great ideas on the work to be done. Listen to him. He will probably be absolutely correct. His crew is excellent. The board replacements were great and only where really needed. They were on time, fast, and very neat. You can't get better quality or a better price than with Jasper Painting.

Called provider three times and left my number each time on voicemail. Provider never returned calls.

Mike Sullivan was great to work with. He gave me an honest estimate and went above and beyond the quoted work and painted a side door and flower boxes at no additional charge. Mike is a perfectionist and I am extremely pleased with the work he and his co-workers performed. I would definitely recommend Jasper Painting and ask for Mike to do the work.

I paid for a Groupon for $199 for $350 worth of exterior painting. I emailed Jasper Painting several times and they never responded. After 3 weeks or so, I asked Groupon for a refund, which they processed. About 3 days after I asked for a refund, Jasper Painting called me on the phone to set up a time to come out. I said NO, I have already cancelled the deal. They apologized for not contacting me sooner. I do expect to be contacted within 3 business days after I purchase the Groupon. In my experience, contractors are generally bad about getting back to you, so I was not surprised. But 3-4 weeks is too long.

Talked to Mike on what service i wanted to have done on my deck. He checked condition of deck before agreeing to power wash and stain the deck. Since work is outside, he was given permission to be on property at any time.

Bottom line (moved to the top for reader convenience): Jasper Painting did a great job and at a fantastic price, including work not within the original scope of the project. We have already recommended them to others. During the visit to create an estimate, I told estimator Michael that we planned to sell the house about a year later. Having heard that, he suggested a way to save us money by using on the aluminum areas paint Jasper had on hand, left over from previous jobs. Michael said he could custom mix a color that would coordinate well with the colors we were using on the wood siding and windows, saving us a couple hundred bucks on paint. We accepted his suggestion. Jasper thoroughly power-washed the house the evening before painting. Unfortunately, I didn't know exactly when to expect the power washing and therefore had not removed the window screens (more on that later). I arrived just as Dan was finishing and he pointed out two issues. The spray from the pressure washer had damaged a plastic attic vent. This was an original vent from when the house was built in the mid 1970s. I pointed out that the plastic was probably brittle with age and that it wasn't Dan's fault. I agreed to pay for a replacement if he would install it before painting. On painting day, Dan picked up the replacement vent and installed it at no extra charge (except for the price of the material). Also, during power washing, Dan discovered that some of the fascia had pulled away from the soffit. On painting day, Dan re-nailed the fascia at no extra charge. On painting day, we learned that Jasper's estimator had not included in his estimate the painting of window frames but instead had included only the window moldings. Dan suggested they also paint the window frames, because the job would look better. After I unlatched the screens, Dan removed the screens and power-washed the windows that morning. He later painted the window frames at no extra charge. Painting the steel front door and aluminum screen door were not part of the original estimate, but Dan painted them at no extra charge. Before painting the side of the house on which the electric meter, etc. are mounted, Dan carefully masked them, even masking the manufacturer label on the telephone company's terminal box. As a result, all those utility boxes are now the same color as the house. The guys finished the entire job in a day. We are very pleased with the finished job. The color they custom-mixed from on-hand paint is perfect. The house looks brand new and we haven't seen a single mistake (i.e., no drips, no over-spray problems, etc.

I have used Dan before. He does quality work at very reasonable prices. He always is prompt and punctual. He communicates very well to avoid any misunderstandings. Jasper Painting is a quality company that we will use again and also recommend.

Painting the house went very well. I have used Dan many times to paint my house dating back as far as 1992. His price has been a good value....his work excellent...and compared to other paint services I tried (when I lost Dan's contact number) the job lasted much longer. My current house is cedar and it weather's quite a bit....needing attention every 5 or 6 years with Dan...with two other sources I used I got only two years out of the paint coverage. Jasper was timely in responding to my RFQ....showed up on time...showed up to paint on time and completed the cleaning of my house in a timely fashion as well as the painting...one day for the paint job....I did not have Jasper do my trim...but did have him paint my front door....I was impressed with his work so I also contracted with him to paint my son's home including the trim.... While he was here painting my home he asked if he could do the deck....it needed it and I am getting old and it is about 1000 square feet.....he did a very nice job...very reasonably as I am finding out now....however it was done while I was on vacation and the deck was treated with a solid stain....looked great but I did not ask for a solid and preferred a semi transparent....however, can't complain about the work or price...just wish the communication had been a little better on the deck project as we never discussed the stain treatment...Both at fault for this. For house painting i would highly recommend Jasper....High Quality and Good Value....will probably use again before we move to smaller digs. well. The price is for painting

It was excellent! They were very prompt in coming out and giving us an estimate, Mike Sullivan was very professional and friendly! Within 10 days the work was finished from when we first talked to him. Dan Jasper also did the work, they were wonderful!

RiI recently had my house exterior painted by Jasper Painting. I was very impressed with the job that they did. They were very good about getting back to me from the very beginning and scheduling a time to come give an estimate. The estimate was reasonable and included all the work to be done. I had some other estimates done and then found out they did not include everything like power washing and painting the gutters, whereas Jasper was clear and appeared to cover everything in the quote. Mike and Dan did a great job! Mike made several suggestions about the paint trimming and doors which were very good and now that the job is done it feels more complete. Also they took the time to ensure that after everything was done, the entire exterior was clean, even the parts that they did not paint. They cleaned up the job completely and it only took 2 days. They obviously took a lot of time going over the house after it was complete to ensure that all of the job looked perfect. I will definitely use them again.

Excellent job. We are very happy with Jasper. They were very professional, personable and our deck looks great. We are very critical of service providers and have written several critical reviews in Angie's. We are difficult to please and we even surprise ourselves with how happy we are with Jasper. It was very refreshing to have someone provide superior service with a smile, a customer first attitude, and fair price. We would recommend them without a second thought.

The best way to describe the over all effort is to say "extremely good". Their contact man with us, Mike Sullivan, was friendly, helpful, and most important very knowledgable about his craft. He spent several hours with us discussing various options (paint verses stain, paint grades verses cost and life of paint), potential color mixes and where trim should be considered. He offered his opinions when we asked and did not try to impose his ideas on us. In these discussions, he was both honest in his thoughts and frank about the issues. He knew the timing was critical for us and he managed to get the work done within our time constraints. He and his helper worked as professionals. They were both good and experienced at their craft and paid enormous attention to details - details which I might have missed. Once they started, they did not stop until the work was finished. None of this start the project, then go off and do something else for a week or two before finishing. They started and they worked continously until it was done. At the completion of the project, he took us on a detailed inspection of the painting to be sure all was completed as it should be. During this inspection, he found the only two small spots that needed a quick touch up - spots I would have missed. It was very clear that he took great pride in his work and that he wanted his name to be attached only to work that was very good. Two other things. First, he was not the cheapest quote we got and he was not the most expensive. He was in the middle of the 5 quotes we got. I have found that that is a good place to use - all other things being equal. Second, our house is wood - cedar siding. Some of the siding was in very much need of repair.He knew a contractor that does this type of repair and got us in contact with him - a man named Jeremiah Burdick, of "Burdick Brothers". Mike guaanteed the man's work. I got two other quotes and again, Jeremiah was in the middle. I used him and, like Mike, he was very good, very professional and did an excellent job. We have since used him on other home repair jobs.Over all, we aere very happy with the entire project.

Dan and Mike Sullivan (Dan's business manager) came over within two hours (I was not home) and Mike called me with an estimate that evening and explained what needed to be done in regards to process, materials and labor and put a written quote under my front door mat. I was very impressed for such a quick and professional response! I told him I had called a few other businesses and I would wait to hear back from them too before I made my decision. After hearing back from two I chose Jasper Painting because of their good reports on Angie's List, and Mike was quite persuasive that they would do an excellent job and that I'd be very pleased with the final results. He was right! One week later on Friday afternoon Dan and Jeremy power washed the exterior and early on Monday morning with good weather I had painters at my house. My wife and I had already picked colors for the body of the house and the trim. The job took three and half days. Each day they were there early and left late in the afternoon. I switched up some of the trim color that they had painted on the stucco foundation and they repainted what I wanted without a single question or comment. Dan and Mike wanted me to be happy, and told me so They cleaned everything up when they were finished and offered to come back if I saw an area that I thought needed touched up. I paid them in full when the job was done (theydid not ask for one penny upfront). The house looks great! My wife and I are really happy with how it turned out, we have had many compliments on it. We will definitely use Jasper Painting for any future painting projects we may have. Dan and Mike are a great team, Thank you for a great job!

I had painters at my house early on Monday morning ready to paint. The job took three days. Each day they were there on time. The weather was very hot but they did not complain at all or leave early any of the days. They wanted me to be happy, and told me so. I paid them in full when the job was done (they did not ask for one penny upfront). My house looks great and I've had many compliments on it. I contacted Jasper Painting and two other vendors based upon the reviews on Angie's List. I heard back from Jasper's manager/estimator about a week after leaving a message (ironically they were the quickest to respond as this is the painting busy season). I had an estimate a few days later, and after accepting the estimate, work started the following week. The crew arrived on Friday 6/8 to power wash the house and assess the work to be done. Painting started the following Monday and with the exception of a windy day on Tuesday (no work), the team started early each morning and finished by about 4:30PM. Each day they cleaned up their mess and left everything in good order. They finished on mid-day Friday (one week on site) and it is clear that they are very self-critical as the final walkthrough did not reveal any problems. In fact, the fresh paint revealed some aluminum facing that was coming loose and they fixed that at no extra charge. The house looks outstanding and this team is top-notch! We'll be using them again in the near future for some challenging indoor painting.

I received an unsolicited quote one evening on a business card left on the garage door. I was in the process of getting other quotes to perform the painting this summer and Jasper's quote was lower than the others I had received. I called and spoke with Mike Sullivan and he came out to the house to make an official estimate of material as well as obtain a partial can of strain in order to color match. The house was pressure washed that day and they completed the painting/repair a couple of days later due to the long holiday weekend. We did not have to put down a deposit or sign a contract - a handshake sufficed. They were very professional and pleasant to work with. Mike returned the next day to check to see if anything needed to be touched up and to pick up our payment. Overall the experience was second to none. I would recommend them Jasper Painting to anyone.

I really enjoyed working with Mike Sullivan at Jasper painting. He was professional and very polite. The great thing about the job was the tremendous communication. Mike always called to let me know what was going on and he wasn't happy until I was happy. He even came back later in the evening to see where touch ups were needed. My experience with Jasper was really great. Thanks guys!

I had called around for several estimates. Dan (painter) came out on the initial visit and was in a bit of a rush so he gave the price and left. Mike (business manager) called back a few days later and apologized profusely for being in a hurry and knocked $100 off the original estimate. I researched Jasper on Angie's List and was pleased with what I read so we decided to go for it. I spoke with Mike on Monday to set everything up and by Tuesday the house was powerwashed. They completed the painting Wednesday morning. Dan came by on Thursday to check and see how we liked it. I pointed out just a couple small touch up areas and Dan was back Friday and fixed them up. The house looks great! My husband and I are really happy with how it turned out. I will definitely use them for any future painting projects we may have.
