home inspection
+ -1 moreHe spent about an hour going through the house and didn't really find anything except for cosmetics. His report was unprofessional, sloppy, and contained errors. Apparently he uses a canned report program (which is fine), but he checked the wrong boxes so the written report he sent me didn't make sense and had a lot of errors. Furthermore, after less than a week in the house, I found several problems he should have caught. Good thing the new home came with a warranty or he would have cost me a lot of money. 1. One of the bathroom vents was disconnected in the attic which means I had a gaping hole from my attic to the outside. This was found by the insulation people. 2. The water was disconnected to the dishwasher. He turned it on during the inspection but never bother to see if it actually got wet. 3. The front door isn't hung right. It doesn't just leak, it lets snow in the house. I'm getting it replaced under warranty, but it should have been found before closing.
Description of Work: Inspected new previously unoccupied home and performed radon testing before closing.
