The owner and 3 painters arrived EXACTLY on time and proceeded to work almost immediately. We were elsewhere in the house while they worked, so we know they were actively working. Their preparation was impeccable. They kept working all day (8-4:30). Their prep area in our garage was immaculate as was the house when they finished. We found absolutely no errors. It totally exceeded our expectations for painting expertise, cleanliness, and speed. We will definitely use them again.
Description of Work: We asked for a quote from Grabill Painting for two very complicated, high ceilings. The owner visited and gave us a quote promptly. He worked with to find a date to do the work, and he flexed around our calendar, giving us a convenient day and clear instructions about preparation.

Not good. Too many issues to list, but I ended up having to do a considerable amount of work after their drywall people were done just to make sure the painting would look halfway decent. Had to have them come back a second time to repair multiple areas (about 25) that were of very poor workmanship, and the person that was sent out must not have been informed of what needed done. There was severe bubbling and pitting in the drywall mud, but he had no idea what needed fixed so just threw some mud on the walls in the areas marked for repair, but only actually hit the correct spots on about 5-7 out of the 25. I ended up spending another 4-5 hours late that night fixing all of the bad areas because the second painting crew was coming the next day and I wanted to make sure the pitting was filled in. The painting "crew" ended up being one person, and what was supposed to be a 2 day job (coat of primer, and two top coats) ended up getting all done in the same day, because his boss just wanted the job done fast. The painter put an extremely heavy primer coat on the walls that were repaired (I believe to try and hide the imperfections in the drywall repairs) which caused all of the repaired wall to now look like they have a stippled texture finish, and do not match the walls that were worked on the first time that did not need any repair work. Most of the areas that were skimmed coated over the plaster look awful, and you can still see the swirl marks from the plaster and a lot of ridges. I had done a lot of the drywall work originally, but just got to the point of wanting to be done, so we hired Grabill Painting and Drywall to finish what we started, plus do the skim coating. It was discussed in detail, and they were supposed to finish the areas I had started but did not complete. Instead of finishing the new drywall areas, they just skim coated the joints and painted. On corners where there is metal bead, they did not fill in the low areas as is common, so now we have several walls that have extreme dips where the corner beads protrude much more than the wall. Overall we are extremely disappointed with the workmanship we received, especially for the money we spent. There were a couple other options that were much less than Grabill, but they seemed professional and said all the right things to convince us they would perform at a much higher level. I am willing to discuss our experience, or even let people into our home to show you exactly what our walls now look like. If you see what we have to look at every day, I am sure you will decide to choose another company. It's too bad, because the people we worked with were very nice and seemingly accommodating, just not very good at what they did for us.

We had custom cabinets made and the cabinet maker did not have the means by which to paint the cabinets. After consulting a few providers we arranged to go with Grabill Painting and Drywall. We requested an estimate and timeline and they were rsponsive to our request and at a fair proce. We delivered the cabinets to their location via a box truck and they off loaded the cabinets in their warehouse. We also informed them of the color and type of paint to use. They use their commerical grade booth sprayer and dryer to complete the project and contacted us upon completion. We arrived to load and pick up the cabinets for installation. The cabinets look great with a few minor areas needing retouched after a few years of expansion and contraction.

They were absolutely wonderful. They did such a beautiful job on the power washing and did a perfect job on the painting. There was not one spot of paint anywhere that didn't belong. They spray painted the vinyl siding. Joel, Miquel, Al were the workers that did such a great job. Chris provided me the quote and oversaw the work to make sure it started on time and kept on track. I feel like it was money well spent. They were always on time, polite, and I felt very safe with them there. I was in and out while the work was performed and never once worried. They were neat and cleaned up very well.
Description of Work: They power washed and painted the front of my vinyl home, shutters, and trim and caulked around the windows.

I was told over the phone that there would be a $45.00 trip charge plus material and labor. They would not give me a solid quote over the phone, which is understandable. I was the first stop scheduled for the day. From their office, Mapquest estimates 12.44 miles and 16 minutes total. They arrived promptly and the gentleman was friendly. He explained taht there would be no need for the cornerbead as it was a simple process of hammering the the nails back in and applying some quick set mud. He was there for a total of 15 minutes. (It would have been even less but the mud had to set.) I called the office after he left so I could get a total and mail a check. The receptionist said to wait for an invoice. I received the invoice and not only did they charge me for material that was not used (cornerbead), they also charged me for a full hour of labor. I called and spoke with Chris and he was unwilling to change the bill as he stated that they had to go off the work order which states that he was there for an hour. I explained I had called in after he left and spoke with the receptionist. He then stated it was probably the drive time that contributed to the hour. I explained where I live in regards to their office. It was then that he stated that the trip charge is $70.00. Which clearly does not add up considering the original invoice was for trip, labor and material that was never used. Also, my husband had to resand the area as it was very sloppy work. I have hired many contractors in the past as I have experience in interior design. I found this company to be very unprofessional in the way that they handled the explaination of this invoice. I felt taken advantage of and I would not receommend this company to anyone. It may not be alot as far as the dollar amount but it was not honest business. I am just glad that I did not hire them for a large job.
Description of Work: I had some drywall tape and nails that were coming through on a 45 degree angle by my fireplace. Prior to having tile applied, I called to get an estimate for repair.
