Buyer Beware!!! We have been very happy with our Everdry project. The installers were very polite and completed the work in the expected time. The biggest selling point to us was that there was a life time warranty and it could be made transferrable. That was several years ago. Long story short, we are needing foundation work done in a crawl space due to sagging. I called Everdry to let them know and to see who our concrete company would contact if they had to replace the wall. Surprise, the Fort Wayne, IN company was closed two years ago and that due to that we now have NO WARRANTY!!! We received no notice that they were closing or that it would void our "lifetime" warranty. The Southbend office is looking to see if our records are with them or at the Indianapolis office. I believe that Mr. Brent Oribello will be hearing from my lawyer. Can anyone say "Class Action Suit?"

My husband’s closet is in the basement, he’s a shoe collector…they told us that it would be “virtually dustless” and that we should just cover everything and move it to the middle of the room so that they could get around the perimeter of the basement. On the first day, they were late. When they got there they said, “you’re going to want to cover this stuff better than this, it’ll be ruined if you don’t”. We told them about the “virtually dustless” comment and they simply laughed. That delayed the project by a whole day. They were very unprofessional and loud at all times. We never had problems with the system except the EZ breathe. Now 6 years later, we are having issues with it again, running loudly and the basement smells wet like an old basement. I called to get serviced and it turns out, this company has been disenfranchised by Everdry for poor quality. As a customer, we never got any communication about this closure and assumption of service by another company which is unprofessional. Now I willhave to pay the South Bend Everdry to come assess whether the install was done correctly, dig up a portion of my yard again, and give me an quote on how much it will cost ME to get it up to par. Not to mention I still have 20% of the loan to pay off. I’m definitely calling my lawyer over this one, it just doesn’t seem right. Hopefully our system was installed correctly and the South Bend Everdry will warranty out property…

See above--the work was done correctly.
Description of Work: It has been several years now since we had Ever Dry waterproof our basement. In addition to their initial service we are very satisfied with their follow up help. On the couple of occasions we have called them, they have been very professional in dealing with us. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to dry up any basement or foundation water issues. We did a little bit of research before hand. I think it was a little bit more expensive, but what they had to offer encompassed more than some that was less expensive.
Description of Work: They waterproofed our basement. They did stuff on the interior and on the exterior.

I was solicited by a door to door cold call in my neighborhood. Since this was on my list of things to do, I agreed to have a representative come and evaluate my basement situation. The person who made the cold call probably works on commission, so I wasn't surprised that it required a confirmation phone call. However, they called more than once to confirm and each time wanted to review everything I filled out on the form initially and then do it again when they arrived in person. My time is worth something too. I didn't want to repeat it at each point in the process. The estimator for the basement waterproofing arrived on time. He was friendly and generally seemed knowledgeable on basements and problems with water. His evaluation was thorough too. The entire process is definitely a sales pitch with the end goal to get you to sign a contract that day. They want to sell an entire package, not just what might be needed. For example, the man said my sump pump and pit were in good shape although there were no holes in the sump pit. Their proposal was to remove the pit, insert a new one with holes and new sump pump. Since the existing pit and pump are not causing any problems that need to be corrected, this is just padding the bill. The price for the server was very expensive and although it might be a reasonable price for the work being done, it is unreasonable to ask or expect someone to sign a contract after a hour presentation. Whenever I hear this type of sales approach, I know to be weary. Their BBB rating is not worth anything to me compared to what I read on Angie's List. I wasn't overly pressured, but I was very firm in my stance that I would not sign anything that day.

The project went well. It took about 3 days. My basement walls were bowing and leaking. Not anymore. The basement drainage system and transferable warranty also increased the value of my home and protected my investment. -WH Elkhart, IN

Everdry first came to our home in mid-February to install the system. The were to install the multi-step system which includes a sub floor drainage system, adding a sump, add an e-z breathe ventilation system as well as repairing cracks to the walls and waterproofing the exterior of the basement walls. This requires them to dig down around the perimeter of the home to inspect the walls and apply a waterproofing agent as well as adding drain tiles in gravel. This was all completed according to the project manager, Nic Staak. This is a lake home in northern Indiana and we live 2 hours south. Mid March I received a call from our landscaper who was very upset to find the following when he came to the home: -front door was left ajar(presumably for about 4 weeks) -piles of debris and gravel were left in driveway and around the house -trash(pop bottles etc) and shovels were left in the yard -the landscaping that I was assured would suffer minimal damage was destroyed -stones and retaining walls were not replaced after dismantled and siding was damaged -a sprinkler head from the irrigation was snapped off -the interior of the home was covered in dust and grime from them carrying buckets of broken cement up from the basemen -new drainage pvc pipe exiting from home was not buried adequately and was sticking out about 2 feet over our neighbor's yard to discharge on their property -water was in the basement because it was still leaking I contacted Everdry on March 20 to report on the situation discovered and to send them photographs that I had the landscaper take of the damage and condition of my home. They seemed very concerned at first and I immediately heard back from Nic Staak, the project manager. The next day when I did not hear back from them, I contacted them again to inquire about what the solution would be. I was told that I would hear from the project manager and I also requested to leave a message for the owner, Brent Oribello, to call me back. Nic called me and informed me he would not get a chance to get to my house until 3/24. On 3/24, Nic called to tell me that he cleaned up what he could and also met my landscaper at the property to discuss what all had been damaged. Nic informed me of the following: -they would return to waterproof the wall that was still leaking, it hadn't been waterproofed because we didn't have the water heater and other equipment moved out of one corner although no one informed us that we were responsible for moving this equipment prior to the job. -I should inform them in the spring when plants come up of what I have lost -damaged siding would be repaired -the exterior of the home still needed waterproofing on the same wall as the one leaking on the interior but this would not occur until mid June because they were booked out. This is in spite of the fact that it is an incomplete job, not a new job or a warranty call. On 4/11, Shawn(a different project manager) came to the house to finish waterproofing the rest of the basement on the interior. Upon completion, he contacted me to inform me that the wall was in pretty bad shape and would probably need to be replaced because it was crumbling. I voiced my frustration at being told that they were not able to make my basement waterproof. After all, the reason I contacted them in the first place is because we could stand and watch water pour down this particular wall whenever it rained or the irrigation ran. It was our sole reason for contacting them to begin with. I was also notified by the landscaper that they had broken off a sprinkler head to the irrigation system while working on the waterproofing and he is now concerned that they may have cut the irrigation lines as well. This will not surface until we start up the irrigation system later this spring. I was told by Shawn that he would relay my concerns to Nic and that I should wait to hear from him. That was 4/11. On 4/21, I had still not heard from Nic so I attempted to contact Everdry. I called at 8am and left a message that I wanted to speak with Nic and I also called Nic and left a voicemail message. At noon I contacted Everdry again and when I explained the situation, the person answering the phone was short with me but agreed to relay the message and I asked to again leave a message on the owner's voicemail. She again was short and frankly, impolite but transferred me and I left my third message asking for the owner, Brent Oribello, to contact me to discuss the situation. To this date, I have never had any communication with the owner of the company. Also, I attempted to find a corporate headquarters for the company because it is a franchise. I called several different numbers including one given to my by Ft. Wayne Everdry and was told each was not corporate and they couldn't help me find that. I then called Everdry Ft. Wayne back and was told that the owner was in Ohio at the headquarters doing training and I should call Ohio State Waterproofing because that was their corporate company. I had already contacted them earlier and told they were not associated with Everdry. I called again Ohio State Waterproofing and was told that there was no one there doing training and they were not associated with Everdry, they do not franchise and 'I'm sorry ma'am but it appears that someone in Fort. Wayne is trying to give you the run around'. To date, I have never been able to find a corporate headquarters to voice my frustration and to get help with a resolution. When I did hear from Nic on 4/21, he told me that I must have misunderstood Shawn about the wall because it does not need to be replaced. This is in spite of a detailed conversation with Shawn about how upset I was that we weren't told this from the beginning because we would not have hired them to waterproof our basement if it wasn't possible to do. I even discussed with Shawn that I should probably call a contractor to look at the wall. The same conversation was relayed to me by Brandon, the landscaper who was told the same thing by Shawn. I am not sure who to believe about the integrity of my wall now. I've had two people in charge give me different stories about the condition of the wall. Nic plans to return at another date to spray a concrete hardener on the wall and apply durashield to it. I'm concerned with the solution because I'm questioning the true condition of the wall at this point. Nic has stated that they will reimburse us for damage to the sprinkler system when we find out it's status. He has also said that he will pay for a professional cleaning to the interior due to the amount of dust and dirt. I have found this to be an extremely upsetting and disappointing process. I feel that we were taken advantage of because we were not able to be at the lake during the work. I'm not even sure anymore if they did all they said they were going to do and properly after the way my personal property was treated and the way it was left. Needless to say, this is not the experience I expected from the company and the end result at this point is a leaking basement with a questionable wall and incomplete work on the part of Everdry with really no date for completion. At this point I fear I will have to start commuting two hours each way just to supervise the work myself and will need to get at least a second opinion from someone who knows about properly water proofing a basement.

,The management was not easy to work with. It was a constant battle.
Description of Work: The entire basement was to be waterproofed. Work was to be 1 week. A foreman was to show on the 1st day to go over any concerns with us. No foreman, only 2 guys in a car with a jackhmmer in the trunk. They needed to borrow an extension cord. I should have sent them away. The jack hammer broke within 2 hrs. The jackhammer was to be a noise-reducing, dust-reducing model. The workman said they don't have them. Nothing I was told by the salesman was understood by the workers. The men worked hard, but had no directions. I have hot-water heat, they had no idea how to deal with the pipes. I had my HVAC company out several times. The project seemed to be progressing, but at the end of the week I find that the waffle sheeting was not correctly installed. They returned several weeks later to re-dig inside and re-do. Within a month water was once again coming into the basement. I was given the run-around. They did finally come and look at it and then proceeded to come up with mutliple plans. None of these plans worked. The repairs, re-working, re-digging continued until SEPTEMBER of 2012. This projected started AUGUST of 2011. My patio, sidewalks, yard and lanscape were a mess. If I had to do it over again, I would search long and hard for another company.

The company was hired to waterproof my basement. I had landscaping around the exterior of the home. They said I would need to hire a landscaper to remove the bushes. They said the job would take 2 days. I hired the landscaper, and Everdry took 2 WEEKS to complete the job!! By that time, the bushes had died. I had watered them daily, as instructed from the landscapere, but he said there was no way they could have lived this long out of the ground. The company ruined my landscaping around the perimiter of the house. Instead taking the money off of the bill to pay me for the landscaping, they agreed to release me from the yearly warranty fees for 15 years.( This would only have amounted to $600, and my bushes cost over $2000 to replace. ( and then the bushes were just puny, little ones, instead of the beautiful ones that had been carefully removed and bagged.)Then when I had a warranty issue in 2010, they said I did not have a warranty as I had not paid a warranty fee!!! I explained the situation, but they said that the company had changed hands, and since I had not paid them, specifically, they would not honor any warranty. At first, they agreed to honor the warranty, but it was going to be 6 months until they could do the work. What kind of a warranty is that? They do not cover the ruined carpet and walls to the finished basement... My basement is leaking!! Now they refuse to accept or return my calls. I want them to honor the warranty and fix my basement.

The service with Everdry went very well. They were very professional. It's a national company, but we used the one in Fort Wayne. They have a very good rating through the Better Business Bureau.I would give them an A for service.
Description of Work: We used Everdry out of Fort Wayne. The service went very well. Everything is done. It has been about 60 days. Everdry is going to come back out and undo what they call a re-grade. They did some of the work outside so they will comeback to make sure all the dirt is level. They will do a follow-up service. They were here for three days and they hand-dug everything. They dug down outside - hand dug and checked out the walls to see if there were any cracks. They would have filled them in if there were any. They put in a footer system on the outside and inside on the basement floor.
