Services we offer
For nearly 25 years (operating as Cultured Gardens since 2006), we have paired the best in residential landscape design with meticulous workmanship in construction and installation. From simple curb appeal projects to paver patios, firepits, gazebos and more; we offer full landscape design & installion services.
Everything went very well. The wait for installation was not excessive, and the job was done quickly and neatly. It looks great! Just what we needed! I thought the price was fair, too.
Description of Work: We had one side of our house excavated in the winter and needed to replace landscaping. It's a very shady and difficult area. Mo came over to discuss what could be done, provided me with a drawing and estimate, and her crew installed the new plant material, mulch and boulders.

Prior to establishing Cultured Gardens, owner Mo Palmer, was the landscape designer for our home. She has exceptional skills for visualizing landscape for a given property. Cultured Gardens has performed two landscape additions to our property within the last several years. Mo will provide excellent advice to whatever landscape ideas you may have (trees, plants, mounds, rock, etc.) or you can leave it all to her with confidence. For all jobs the crew arrived promptly. The were courteous and professional. Cleanup was good. If you have something absolutely in mind, don't be vague, be specific. Don't just say "I want a large rock over there." Show the exact location and give the rock size desired (3' wide and 1' high). No landscape designer can clearly see what you may be visualizing in your mind.
Description of Work: Rock stairway from lower back yard to house level area. Flagstone walkway. Boulder placement and shrub plantings in landscape. mounds. Mulching.

She seemed really good and my neighbors had used her. I could not use her because she did not do the job I wanted her to. I wanted her to dispose something that was in the yard, and she was honest in telling me that she did not know where she could put it. She seemed very credible and ethical. Her prices were fine. I may still use her for the other jobs she quoted me for. She was prompt to answer my questions, and she was prompt to come over and have a detailed discussion with me.
Description of Work: I got an estimate from Cultured Gardens.

The work went very, very smoothly. The installers did an exceptional job with the wall. They paid very close attention to detail, ensuring the wall was absolutely level in relation to the sloped sidewalk, and cleaning up thoroughly when they were finished. We were extremely happy with the end result, and we will be using Cultured Gardens again as we move on to different areas in our yard. The only reservation we had when we got the quote was the price. Much of the total $3100 cost was for the stone material and for the installation. It was more than we wanted to pay, but it ended up being less expensive than the initial quote, and the end result was well worth it. The workmanship was of extremely high quality, and the wall substantially improved our "curb appeal."
Description of Work: Mo came out and gave us some great ideas for cleaning up our jungle of a garden, and she designed a retaining wall to help minimize erosion along the sidewalk in front of our house. She took care of contacting the historic preservation office (we live in a historic district), and made sure the stone material and design were in character with our house and the neighborhood. Her crew came out and installed the wall in a day, planting a couple of hydrangea bushes, and then filling the area inside the wall with dirt and covering with mulch.
