CertaPro Painters® of Fort Wayne

We recently had Certa Pro do an exterior painting project and were very happy with the results. Everyone from the salesperson doing the estimate to the painters and office staff were great to deal with. This I’d the third time we have had them paint for us and will hire them again for our next painting project.

They did not lay tarps on the roof and had paint all over they tried to presser wash it off and put holes in my roof. they used the wrong type of paint, not the paint that was on my contract that I approved, I had to get a new roof costing me 12,000 out of pocket, there insurance would only cover the damaged area 4,000, and still wanted me to pay for the paint job of 1,200.

1 day late. Paint splatters all over. Roller lint in wall paint. Old color bleeding through all ready. I have cleaned up most of splatters but it was not what I was led to expect by reading the reviews. I really dislike posting this but I expected some one from the local company to have contacted me by now.

Individual providing the quote was VERY professional and explained everything. Got a complete write-up of what to expect and what was covered. After that, there were some communication issues with the supervisor scheduling the work. Then the person doing the actual painting would tell me he wouldn't be there on a certain day, but then he would show up. He constantly boasted about being the best worker for the company and at the end of the job made it clear he expected a very large tip, which I did NOT provide. He did a really good job with the painting, but I was uncomfortable with him.

Not great. The contractor Certapro hired broke off branches of shrubs next to the house and left them lying on the sidewalk. He said gelcoat wouldn't hide faded areas on the front door, but that he would strip it at an extra cost. He screwed up the stripping so he used a much darker gelcoat to hide his errors. Now that door doesn't match any other woodwork in the house. They stored their supplies and equipment on an herb garden killing all the plants. They left the inside of one of the service doors unpainted. Certapro failed to acknowledge an email I sent listing the problems we had.

Painter was prompt and did a good job covering red walls in dining room and oak cabinet kitchen cabinets.

I am a bit finicky when it comes to color, and they met me the whole way. I must have changed my color choice at least 3 times before they helped me find the one that worked perfectly! They actually finished the job 1 day ahead of schedule, and their clean up was amazing! If there were any problems, and other than my overly picky nature on the color, David Dahl and Wes Maier were always available for me to call!

Badly. Paint was spilled and my bricks were painted because the painters could not hold a line. The painters they sent were terrible and tried to hit me up for help because they were getting kicked out of their hotel. After all the problems they still billed me full price. They did come back (twice) to clean up the problems. NEVER AGAIN!

The job looks great. The painters were neat and courteous.

It did not go as this company did not respond to my request.The work is being done by another company.Needless to say I am disappointed, as I have used CertaPro for painting the exterior of my house several times.I may not consider using them in the future.

They were good. Personally I have done a lot of painting, plumbing, music and I can analyze work. I felt like they rushed through the work and did not do somethings as I expected it for the price and time frame. They have a 2 year warranty and they sent me a post card that the 2 year warranty was about to expire and I was impressed with that.

The gentleman was supposed to come and take down the popcorn ceiling in our kitchen and put the Spanish lace ceiling and then paint the ceiling and the walls. He was supposed to come probably around 9:00 AM, but he didn’t get there until after 1:00 PM. He was supposed to completely cover the doorways in the kitchen leading to other rooms floor to ceiling because when they take down a popcorn ceiling, it creates a fine white dust that will go everywhere if you don’t have the right things done to stop it and he said that he forgot to bring the 10-foot length, so he used 4-foot so we ended up with white powdery dust all over the house. He complained that this wasn’t the job he thought he was coming to do. He forgot to bring his air compressor that he needed to below the stuff on the ceiling to do the Spanish lace. He went across the street to our neighbor and asked to borrow his air compressor, which was completely unprofessional and we didn’t even know he was doing that. The ceiling when it was done looked absolutely atrocious. The owner sent another guy out to paint the ceiling. The next Monday he arrived, he said he was doing a family room, he didn’t have the keels to block a stain on the ceiling and just kept painting over it and the stain kept coming back through. When CertaPro called back to schedule a time to come back and finish the painting, I told them they were not coming back to my house ever for any reason and that I was not paying them for the disaster that they created. They understood, apologized, and offered to send a cleaning crew to my house and I told them no, I will clean my own house; I don’t want to have anything to do with you people.

They did get the wallpaper off but they left an uneven job at the bottom. It was all raggedy down at the bottom and then they painted it. I didn't catch it until after they left. I should have called them back. It was a couple that did the interior work. I knew it was going to be expensive. I probably wouldn't use them if I got the same people but if I got the guy that did the exterior work, I would use him in a heartbeat.

I was very pleased with the exterior. I have cedar on the front on the house and a small covered front porch with posts that they painted. He did an absolutely superb and wonderful job. I wish I would have had him for the inside.

Nice face to face salesman . No follow through. See others had same problem. Customers beware.

Lack of communications. From the start it was over a month to get scheduled and then many calls by me to get details of times. One week of paint turned to two. Painters were good at their job but office communication lacking..... I never knew when they were going to be here, when they were actually here or when they were done. TV commercial gate locked..... nope. Bill changed from beginning to end. I was not shown paint sample before it was applied.

Wes Maier is the CertaPro franchisee and he did the estimate and helped us with color selection. I had a very tight timeline which I didn't really think could be met, but Wes got me on the schedule. Bob was there to prep and paint by the end of the week. There was considerable prep as the house is 25 years old and we had taken off a popcorn ceiling in the room previously. While Wes had cautioned me that the ceiling would never be perfect, Bob did a fantastic job! In two days, the job was done and I did think the color was off, but didn't have the color strip so I thought my memory was off. However, when I was picking out curtains, I did get the color strip and when I returned home, saw the color was wrong. With some trepidation, I emailed Wes and within 3 minutes, he responded that they would make it right. Again, Bob returned and after we tested paint together, applied two coats of the correct colors. The room now glows. The wall edges are crisp. We were changing the room colors because my daughter will be recovering from surgery in that room and she is very happy with the results. With Wes' help, we picked upbeat colors. I have to say that I've only hired painters a few times since my husband insists he can do it himself. But after this experience, I will always budget for CertaPro. Bob worked quietly, quickly and still was friendly. My husband swears and plays rock music at high volume. And the results were two hundred times better. And no marital spats. What a concept!

Met CertaPro at the Home and Garden Show. They came out and gave a reasonable estimate for painting the trim on the house and arrived promptly as they promised. Finished in a reasonable amount of time and did fine work. Much quicker then I could do myself. Would use them again in future.

The rep was very professional and provided me the quote that was detailed and well written. I have no doubt that the services would have ben top notch but I selected the service from a painter whose price was more reasonable.

they never showed up or even gave me a courtsy call to let me know what was going on. TOTALY unprofessional!!!!!! I fired them, got my house painted. I wouldn't recomend them to anyone at all !!!!!!!!! WORK WAS NEVER DONE!!!!!!!!!!!! My address below is where it sould have been on. Don't know that I can trust Angie's List again.

very well. Shane and his crew were very professional, were careful around the plants and vegetation, cleaned up nicely. were done in two days. I noticed a couple of places after they finished that were not up to my expectations and called CertaPro. A crew member came out that very day and corrected those areas plus something else that he noticed but I did not.

Happy with the work. They showed up on time, did the required work and met all the requirements and the job as specified. I thought the price was a little too much for the size of the house but I never really knew how much quotes go for that size of the house or the work involved. But the job was beautifully done. I love how they met the walls and ceiling to be even. It didn't carry over to notice a poor job. They came back the following week to follow on the job and patch up any missed spots. There was a few missed spots that we pointed out and did them right away. No one's perfect for a job like, it happens to everyone, that's why they follow up with the services. Am I happy with them? absolutely, and I would make recommendations if anyone asks.

They showed up on time - cleaned up at the end of each day - checked their work and fix any problems. They did a good job and finished on schedule.

The project went very well. The painter arrived as promised, went over the details of the job with me answered any questions I had and began the job. Jessie, the painter assigned to do the work was extremely good at his job. The job took two days to complete and at the end of each day everything was cleaned and left in an orderly fashion. I would recommend Jessie's work to anyone needing interior painting done.

The quote was for $4500. They were on time. They were courteous and professional.
