Troy-Built Wood Decks

Troy's team are really friendly and professional. I was able to hang around some and visit while they worked. They take extra care in sanding and finishing boards to perfection. After our extreme rain, cold, then hot again; there were a couple of boards that started the aging process early. Troy has even offered to replace those few boards to make sure that I am satisfied. I would recommend Troy Built Decks to anyone that is needing professional work.

Troy and his crew did an excellent job. The craftsmanship and materials were all to notch. He was very pleasant to work with and did exactly what he said he would do. I give him my highest recommendation.

The project went ideally. We were called into consultation anytime something came up that was unusual, and everything was explained perfectly. We had no deadline for a finish time, so when the complications of weather and other unknowns exteneded the finish time, it was no big deal. We were always informed ahead of time. The finished product is truely a work of art, and we plan to have this company be the people who maintain this deck as long as we are in this house.

Troy built us the most beautiful deck. When I called I just asked for a deck off the back of the house. What he designed and built is amazing. It’s been the envy of the neighborhood since they completed it. I work from home and they respected that and maintained a professional and non-intrusive work environment. They picked up and kept the area clean each night and the project was done in less than 5 days. I would recommend Troy and his crew to anyone!

The project was completed on time. The site was left neat and organized each evening. The crew was supervised by a veteran who made sure things were done correctly and in an orderly fashion. Of the companies we priced, they were in the middle of the pack. However, they gave superior value. We are very happy with the finished product. Our yard looks like it was never a construction site. We will use them again for future projects.

It only took him six days to do the project. Things did get a little delayed due to all of the rain, but that's a reasonable delay. He even called to see if we wanted him to start the project a week earlier than the delayed date due to another customer being on vacation and wanted to push their project back a week. Worked out great for us.

Responded promptly to enquiry. Came to home and on-site developed detailed proposal and cost. Scheduled for the end of the year. Very professional and excellent execution. Kept you informed all the way. Did not attempt to take any shortcuts, even though the old decking was harder to take up than had been anticipated.I would without question recommend Troy and his team.

They came out in September to give us an estimate, but with delays from our Homeowner's Association, the actual project wasn't started until April. The original plan was to use the existing foundation, but when they removed the old foundation they discovered that it hadn't been anchored to the house, and there was a severe slope so they replaced the foundation (w/o increasing their charges). It took them approximately a week to complete the project. Troy (the owner) was in contact with us throughout the project, and had also taken the time to follow up with us during the winter months while we were waiting for the HOA's approval, and then for weather to clear. The deck looks beautiful. I would definitely recommend the company in the future!!

I have only good things to say about Troy and his crew. The whole process went very smoothly. His bid wasn?t the cheapest ? but in the end I think it provided the best value. He was a great help in the design process and I?m very satisfied with the product!

The job went really well, The finished deck is beautiful and really makes the back yard a great place to entertain family and friends. We would use Troy again in a heart beat....GREAT JOB!!!!

After a tree took out part of our old deck this past late summer, it was time to replace it, especially because the old deck was not built well. I got a number of quotes, including one from Troy Rhoton. His was the highest quote, but after our lousy experience with the deck that came with our house, I wanted top quality. We also wanted to rework the deck from the old format. Troy gave us several drawings, and he patiently worked with us until we got the design we wanted and could afford. I will also say that Troy worked with us on the payment: we were refinancing and the closing was delayed, but Troy went ahead and started anyway, trusting that we were telling him the truth. About a week after he started, we closed and got him the initial payment. Work started the week after Thanksgiving, and finished a few days before Christmas. The workers were top notch. They were professional, courteous, good-natured, and hard working. This December was cold and snowy, but they only missed two weather related days of work. They were out in snow and cold, and throughout it all worked hard. The quality and finishing on this deck is as good as it comes--they even took back wood that was subpar, and got replacement wood. I do not mind spending a little more for excellent workmanship, and this is what we got. The old addage is true: you get what you pay for, and for a few hundred more, we got the best. We will use him again for a small add on project that will connect out driveway with the deck. We can't wait to start using it this summer.

Despite the terrible weather this year (snow, snow, snow, and more snow) the work was completed in a very timely manner. The work looks great and we are very eager for spring so that we can fully enjoy this addition to our home. Troy was great from the planning stages to the work completion. We would very highly recommend him to anyone in need of this type of work.

Troy was wonderful to work with and had some great ideas to compliment what we wanted done. He came up with a design we loved and worked with us to make sure we had all of the elements we were looking for. The crew did start a couple of weeks later than anticipated, but once they did start they got it all done in quick order - all whilst being patient with me, my kids and our over helpful, barking dog. Troy even hung a swing for me to save us doing it ourselves and moved some large and heavy rocks that we planned to use in our garden. We were very impressed with the quality of Troy's work and his friendly, helpful attitude and that of his crew. Thanks Troy! We love our new space.

Responsive with estimate and completion of the work. Deck is well detailed and constructed. They were very flexible working with the homeowners desires and needs.

Positive experience. After tear out, started additional repair needs were identified and fairly addressed.

We encountered a rainy period which held up our start date a couple of times. We did have a complication with our dogs needing to be kenneled and communication was key. Due to the delays, we encountered the 4th of July holiday and were not able to get the necessary kennel reservation, which complicated the process. Jeff built our deck and was also very pleasant and professional to work with. He was very meticulous about his work and built a lovely final product. We like the finished product very much.

Troy worked with us on the design and had great ideas. He was transparent with the pricing components of the estimate and extremely responsive and professional. We schedule the build and started within a week of when we planned to (due to rain that delayed them on last job which he told us could happen). All work was done extremely well and included a few construction adjustments that we pointed out that he readily accepted and changed. Since the build has been completed, Troy continues to follow up with us on our satisfaction and helped us locate some specialty cleaner for the eze-breeze windows.

Perfect. Great craftmanship and excellent service. Great job and no hassles. The crew cleaned up after each visit and all were friendly. We received many estimates from various deck contractors. Troy's was on the lower side of the estimates. When people see our new deck and railings and stairs, they marvel at the craftmanship. We took our time deciding who to pick and we are super glad we picked Troy. We would use them again in a heartbeat.

Troy was very responsive, listened to my needs, and wants. He is very knowledgeable and detailed oriented. Prepared a detailed proposal, made recommendations, and kept in touch until start of the project date. I was so impressed with Troy, his reputation, and his ability, that I did not shop around for others to do the work. Once the work started, Troy and his workers have been working each day to complete the job. They even waited out a storm that came through instead of leaving for the day. All workers that have been at the project have been personable and friendly. I was hoping the price was a little lower, but I guess you get what you pay for, and the quality of the porch is well worth the price!

In the design process, Troy took into account what we envisioned, offered helpful suggestions, and was able to show us ideas from an extensive collection of online photos of previously completed projects. Troy and his 2-3 builders were prompt, tidy, were extremely organized and diligent craftsmen, and appeared to work very well together. The entire project came together exactly as was promised, in about 2 1/2 weeks. Upon completion, Troy gave instructions on Azek deck care, and information was given regarding porch electrical work done. The result is a beautiful deck and screen porch, a wonderful addition to our home and yard; well worth waiting for to get the best.

Troy came out and gave us an estimate on the building and erecting of a pergola on our patio. He gave us an approximate date that it would be started. The estimate was approximately in June and the work was scheduled at that time for mid July or around there. Troy kept us updated as to the exact start time and the crew arrived on schedule and the pergola was built exactly like our neighbors......painted and completed. The men were very professional and neat. A slight oversight on a small area that was missed in the painting and it was taken care of quickly. Didn't look forward to having a project started as I don't always find construction companies that have integrity in their work. Troy and his crew does. Very much satisfied with the work done.

I was very pleased and would recommend this company to anyone, the work that was done was better than I had hoped for.

We are quite pleased with our experience in dealing with both individuals we came in contact with. First Troy came and discussed the project with us and arranged for samples of the decking to be given to us so that we could match as well as possible the decking of the stairs, which was no longer available. With his input and other research, we chose cellular PVC decking (with cedar railing and treated pine frame), and are very happy with it. It was more than a month before they could do the work, but it was worth the wait. Given the small job, a single carpenter (I believe his name was Jeff) did the whole job, and I can't say enough about the excellent work he did. We needed to have the deck fit next to an existing stairway down a hill, and it does so very well both mechanically and aesthetically. This is a man who takes pride in his work, and it definitely shows. We've had a number of compliments about both the deck itself and how well it fits with our existing deck/stairway.
