Services we don't offer

Please do not consider us for a one hour service call on if your speakers crackle or another company installed them or if you went to BestBuy to get your TV. We will be happy to quote you on a new system to replace your old one. We cannot be held responsible if other customers have higher priority. We prefer to give our time and effort to individuals who deserve not to hold us accountable for a one hour service call.

The quote for the services was not the most expensive or the cheapest. Their staff was professional, helped educate me to what I now have and how to use. The installation required several visits and although it was not the same staff each time all of their representatives were top notch.

The installation went amazing. I wasn't even home. These are the type of guys that you feel comfortable letting work on your house when you are not even home. When I came home it was all set up. Not only did I have a more advanced sound system for outside, but I could also now stream music and tv to any speaker system within my home because of the system they put on it. I have utilized this company before and each time I basically tell them what I am wanting to do and they take it from there.
Description of Work: Technology Interiors came out today to install my outdoor tv for the season (previously purchased through them) and add an additional outdoor speaker system to it which could connect to the rest of the sound systems in my home. They got everything working above my expectations.

2 week prior to needing the service, I called to schedule the set-up of a security system that Technology Interiors installed during the build of my new home. The day of the service I called an hour before the service time to confirm that someone would be out to set up my system and potentially hang 2 televisions on the wall. When I called I was told that the security install technician was out and wouldn't be back for a week. They weren't even going to come out to hang the televisions, when I was told that the install technicians would bring television mounts in case I wanted them installed. Really, this is the case and no one thought it appropriate to call me? I asked that the owner call me back but after several hours I never received a call. So, I called back and the owner was again not available. It was at this point that I told them I would no longer need their service. How disappointing. Thankfully, I found a different company who could use the system that was installed and was far more responsive and professional.

The whole project went incredibly well. Rick was very responsive and helpful throughout the process to ensure we were getting the right technology bundle for our home/needs. He guided us and educated us without pushing unnecessary products. The quality of work was impeccable and we could not be happier with the final result. The team went above and beyond to ensure my wife and I were happy with the system and how it was installed. Extremely professional and good people.
Description of Work: Technology Interiors put in a brand new Entertainment and Connected Security System. The Entertainment System was put in our newly finished basement with a 108" projection screen, Sony Projector, Full Surround Sound and the Component Rack built into the wall to be hidden by a picture for easy access in the main room. It's fully connected with an easy-to-use Mobile App for controlling all inputs (DirecTV, Apple TV, Blu-Ray, etc.). The security system allows for Thermostat control, Garage Door control, Front Door control and sensors at all doors and window-breaks for the basement. Again, fully connected and easy-to-use.

We were very worried about the holes being cut in the ceiling and the walls to run wires and power, but Rick put our mind at ease and after they were finished you could not even tell it was cut. This saved us from having the paint the ceiling. Rick's guys were very professional and courteous, but I appreciated most that they were problem solvers. We had a tricky install of a subwoofer and they were able to get it installed where we wanted it and did some custom work to make sure it sounded the best it could.
Description of Work: Technology Interiors installed our home theater in our basement. It included installing speakers, a projector, a projector screen and all the equipment. We first chatted with Rick in early December and had them scheduled to do the install on 12/29. It took his guys 2 days to get it all done and configured.

Hands down, this is one of the best companies I?ve worked with. I recently bought a new home and have had a lot done in the past few months. Without question, this was the cleanest and best experience I?ve had from start to finish. It started with a consultation with Josh. The worked around my schedule at met at a convenient time for me. We discussed my goals for the room and he made some great recommendations on how to best utilize the space. Josh followed up quickly with a quote which seemed like a fair price. I actually priced out some of the products on commercial sites and their prices were comparable or better. We worked through details on what would be best to fit my budget and they ended up helping come to a great solution and final prep. We set the instillation a week later. The morning of the instillation, they showed up on time, professionally, and prepared. The crew got right to work and was extremely careful working around the house. The entire instillation took two days and everything went about as well as I expected. Everything worked seamlessly and the remote they set up was easy to use. The only issue is the remote having trouble connecting to the sensor in one of the seats but Josh is coming back out to help reset it. Overall, the finish product was extremely well done, fairly priced within my budget, and done exactly as I wanted. I?ve already recommended this company to a few friends and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a home theater or any audio/video needs.
Description of Work: Technology Interiors installed a home theater in my basement. This included building a riser (stage), laying carpet over the riser, painting the entire room, installing all of the components, and setting the entire place up.

Since the provider did not show, please see details of my experience above.
Description of Work: I have used this company for several years, primarily because of 1 tech, Josh. I have overlooked poor customer service by several other employees to have access to Josh when needed. Most recently, I contacted Ben to schedule service. Ben indicated that it would not be scheduled the week that I contacted him but rather this week and they would be in touch to schedule. I have not been contacted this week so I left 2 voicemail's checking on the scheduling. These voicemails were not returned. Today I called again to see if my voicemail's were received and Ben indicated that the messages were received, that he spoke to Rick the owner and Rick said the service will not be scheduled for this week but maybe next week. I am now over a week into this, I have initiated all contact and I still do not have a commitment. If the provider is this busy that's fine but a simple returned call to inform of the schedule is only common courtesy. I will contact another service and see if I receive better customer service.

From start to finish this was exemplary service. Rick Goren, the owner, responded within hours to my calls and emails. He reassured me about the commonality of the problem, and the solution. His technician arrived at the appointed time, and completed the installation within twenty minutes. The technician was not only efficient, but extremely pleasant as well. We have been Angie's List members for over ten years and have rated over 40 providers. Of course it is difficult to remember the details of companies that I reviewed ten years ago, but my impression as of this moment is that Technology Interiors may be the best service provider we have used to date.

Rick and his team did a fantastic job. Rick came out for an initial appointment within a day and they were installing the system within a week. Rick had the idea of the LED lights and etc and I couldn't imagine the home theater without it now (definitely pay a little more and get all the color changing LED lights, well worth it!). The projector is 3D and movies in 3D are awesome!! The screen is 100 inches and we actually had a picture issue with the first screen, but within 2 weeks Rick had it changed out for a new screen at no additional charge. The 7.1 surround sound system is amazing with the Klipsch speakers......the whole thing is also hooked up to the PS3, Sonos, Netflix, Blu-Ray, etc. It's dummy proof and very easy to work the new universal remote control. We've wanted a system like this in our basement for the last 5 years..........I'm not sure why I waited so long. It is well worth the $8,500. If you are thinking about doing something like this, do not call anyone but Rick! Amazing job well done! We are so happy.
Description of Work: Install of 100 inch projection screen and EPSON 3D Projector. Work also included the installation of the entire Klipsch Home Theater System with speakers built into the ceiling and behind the screen. All wires ran in ceiling to a back room where the equipment is held. In addition, they did the color changing LED lights around the screen and throughout the room....topped off with crown molding. Price also included new universal remote control and a Sonos system.

The installers were great and got the job done in one day no problem. They showed up when the said they would and could not have been nicer. We feel like we found a provider we can really count on and will definitely be working with them again in the future.
Description of Work: Technology Interiors installed our existing home theater equipment in a new home. This included suggesting the layout, hanging a 110 inch screen, hanging the projector, and running all cables for speakers, projector, etc. via the crawl space and drop ceiling in our basement. They wired all components together and tested the system thoroughly. They also sold us a new URC remote for a different room and programed it to work with equipment in that room.

We absolutely LOVE our new digital system! Crime has gotten pretty crazy around Indianapolis over the past couple of years, so last year we knew it was time to upgrade. We were referred to these guys by one of my co-workers at Roche, so after doing my own research, I called and made an appointment. Rick Goren (the owner) came out and did the custom quote for us. He was very thorough, and made lots of suggestions as to where would be good to put the glass break detector, etc. A couple days later, Ike came out and did the installation. Both were very prompt, professional and courteous. On top of the above mentioned items installed, we also wanted motion sensor lights on the outside of our 2 story house...even though that's not something they offer standard, they let us buy our own, and just pay the installers to climb up and change them out. We recently referred our friends to Technology Interiors, and they too decided to use their services. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who wants a solid, stable alarm/house protection system, with reliable monitoring services by alarm.com. I even get an email confirmation as a receipt for my monthly monitoring charges. Even though we locked our rate in for 3 years, it's still a nice reminder to write it in our checkbook. Ps...I don't usually write reviews, but having just passed our 1 year anniversary with them, and being BEYOND PLEASED, I felt it was time to write this one. Thanks to everyone at Technology Interiors for helping to keep our family safe and sound!!
Description of Work: They took out our old hard-wired security system and installed a new wireless one. Included 2 new panels, a glass break detector, 4 new upgraded smoke detectors (we kept our other ones, too, as they are different, so we have double coverage!), a sump pump monitor (our basement flooded twice before), and we now pay for monthly monitoring service.

Technology Interiors (TI) first installed my system in 2005. Any time I have called them to replace a bulb their service was prompt, immediate, courteous, and professional. The service folks always take time with me to answer questions. They let me know about new units and services. Upgrades have been exceptional. I cannot say enough positive about TI. I have been a customer for 10 years. I have never been disappointed. I have and will continue to suggest TI's services to friends and neighbors. Everyone will benefit from the expertise and precision of TI for all their home theater needs.

The staff at Technology Interiors is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to home theaters. The owner, Rick Goren, worked with us in our home to plan out how to mount our new 65" tv, what wiring to use for the best quality signal and even had great suggestions on how to light the room. We were very impressed. When we visited their storefront, there was no pressure and no hard sell - just great advice on what options we had available to us. We were able to take home all but a couple of items we needed that morning. Even the pieces that had to be ordered were delivered in just a couple of days and on the day after Christmas, at that. Ike and Josh came out the following week to pull the wires and get the tv and components in working order so we could complete our remodel of the den. They were polite and respectful of our home. We are so glad we decided to contact Technology Interiors. I highly recommend them.

What they told me at the beginning is that they would finish everything?the theater seating, the bar top, carpeting, painting, etc. The scheduling was horrendous. By that I mean they wouldn?t show up when they were supposed to or they would show up unexpectedly. There was essentially no scheduling. I paid for 2/3rds of it in advance, which was a huge mistake. They owe me money now, but of course no one is returning my calls or emails.I did the carpeting, the chairs, the barstools, and the bar top on my own with other contractors. Update 1/15/15 Technology Interiors said: "This customer did request theater recliners which were provided, and to the customers dissatisfaction the recliners removed and replaced (see picture)." -If they did supply a picture, you can see that it is not a theater seat, but rather a lazy boy that would not fit many chairs on the tier that they built. They were aware of the sizing concerns, and were not able to provide a proper chair. The owner, Rick, asked me if I would prefer to find a more suitable set of chairs and I said that I would take care of that. Technology Interiors said: "We custom built and half-wall as a bar which was finished. The bar top was provided by a contractor. We do not make countertops, but can subcontract any work you request. (see picture) All custom walls were painted by our installer to the customer?s satisfaction. (see picture)" -They told me they would be able to provide a bar top. I specified I wanted a metal top, and they said that would look great. When the employee got here, he recommended I use someone else as Tech Interiors would only upcharge me and need to hire the same people I would. To reiterate, their employee recommended I go through someone else. He also mentioned it would just be more of a scheduling issue because they were not good at scheduling. Technology Interiors said I had a tight schedule in which they had to work. However, I work from home three weeks a month. While it's true I'm in California one week a month, I'm available pretty much all day every day three weeks a month. If that's a tight schedule, then I don't know how people who actually go into work every day would ever deal with them. Technology Interiors said: "Typically with jobs this large we require a deposit of at least half, to which this customer agreed. The first two payments were received in the form of credit cards, both of which were immediately declined. Customer had to be tracked down to pay by certified check. There is an outstanding balance and this customer has yet to settle up. The final invoice was $5000 LESS than the original estimate, but she stated it was much more in her report." -While it's true their payment systems kept denying me, it was not due to lack of money available. If that was true, then how were they able to cash my checks? I wasn't even paying with credit, it was coming out of my checking account. The final invoice was only $5000 less because they were not able to complete the job. I paid $10000 for their services up front and I believe they owe me about $1500. I do have a spreadsheet that compares the original invoice to the new invoice they sent me, and they changed pricing on many things, to their advantage. I've attached that spreadsheet to this email. Technology Interiors said: "This customer has since referred their friends/family to us for more work. Also, we believe the attached picture speaks louder than words." -This is a blatant lie. I've never recommended them and in fact I've told people not to use them. I hope that everyone considering using them asks for referrals. I'm also aware that they've had trouble with some of the companies that supply home theater equipment. I really just want to caution people against using them. I know I may never get my money back, but I highly recommend people go with a different home theater company.
Description of Work: I put in a home theater upstairs in my house. It included a 70″ TV and originally 7 or 8 leather theater seats, 4 or 3 in the front and then 4 on a tier in the back. It also included a bar in the back with a bar top. Also, they hung the TV and did the sounds system. They set high expectations saying they could do all the work. What I ended up with was a rough tier built with some 2x8s and some plywood (not a problem) and then some 2x4s constructing a half wall to put a bar top on. They also drywalled the half wall and of course they hung the TV and did the speakers. That’s it. The blueray player they gave me never worked, and the remote control barely works. I was told they would come back “tomorrow” and fix all of that…they never did. Long story short, they hung the TV and speakers in a matter of 1.5 days. The “construction” took several weeks…something my father and I could have finished in one day.

We believe this report to be a farce, and request that these comments be immediately removed for false claims. This customer did request theater recliners which were provided, and to the customers dissatisfaction the recliners removed and replaced (see picture). We custom built and half-wall as a bar which was finished. The bar top was provided by a contractor. We do not make countertops, but can subcontract any work you request. (see picture) All custom walls were painted by our installer to the customer’s satisfaction. (see picture) An Agreement was reached to contract carpeting separately, since we are not carpet manufacturers or resellers. (see picture) As for scheduling, we worked around this customer’s tight schedule as they made frequent trips outside of the state, to San Jose, CA. In order to coordinate this, several trips were planned. No amateur craftsman can duplicate this at a professional level in one day, as she stated she could easily do. There were several attempts made to meet this customer’s scheduling demands. Even though there was some conflict, the job was completed in a timely manner. We can track the location of the installer’s vehicle through Verizon Fleet Management Services, this report indicates that the hours spent on this job have been billed accurately. Typically with jobs this large we require a deposit of at least half, to which this customer agreed. The first two payments were received in the form of credit cards, both of which were immediately declined. Customer had to be tracked down to pay by certified check. There is an outstanding balance and this customer has yet to settle up. The final invoice was $5000 LESS than the original estimate, but she stated it was much more in her report. Even though this customer states that no one has returned her calls, she was in constant contact with the lead technician who reports directly to the head office daily. (see picture) There was never a mention of a Blu-ray player not functioning, or else she would have received a replacement immediately. This customer has since referred their friends/family to us for more work. Also, we believe the attached picture speaks louder than words.

We overall gave a grade of an A. The quality of the work is excellent! I can not say enough positive comments about Tyler, the main person working on our job. He was very detailed with every step he took. He wanted it done right and did whatever was necessary to reach that goal. We would use them in the future. All communication was always professional! I would have liked to touch base with Rick more during the project. I talked to him through the sales process and on the day I signed the contract, then I did not hear from him until final payment was due, approx 3 weeks later. We gave a "B" for the price....it was a good price for everything we had done and the time involved! We received two other quotes.... one higher and one lower. One of the main reasons we decided to go with the Tech Interiors was because they were a one stop shop! They could demolish our old built-in cabinets, build a new wall, run wires, etc....... that was great! There is value to one group being in charge of it ALL - so there is no blame from contractor to contractor IF something goes wrong. So I don't mean for this grade to be seen as bad..... buy by definition, it was a good price! Punctuality we gave a C-. From an outsiders view.....Technology Interiors is either very busy and / or is very understaffed. Scheduling seems to be a BIG issue. There were days when no one came at all to work on our project. There was one day where the first person came at 3:00 in the afternoon. There WAS communication, but it was generally late communication. I work out of my home so could manage that OK. Not sure everyone could. I.e., Tyler gets his assignments from Rick, I assume..... and there were always loose ends at other jobs to finish up. After our project was complete, I spoke to Rick about this. I would really rather not have my job started until it could be completed all at once. So, rather than spreading it over almost 3 weeks, I would rather have consistent work for 8 days, for example. I would even go so far as building in the contract the length the project will take with fees associated if those dates aren't met. It didn't really matter that it took 3 weeks....but initially I was given the perception that it would take a week. We did change a piece of our project from LED's along ceiling in crown molding to LED's around sound boards on wall...this took a lot longer to do.....so I can see how difficult it is to schedule jobs when clients change minds or contracts. But I feel this is a common issue (jobs changing as you go)....so perhaps build in a few extra days per job for this. If you finish early just move to the next job earlier than expected, that is MUCH better than pushing off a scheduled job. Follow-up issues. Well, we have already had a need for them to come back and fix a problem that WE created. They came the next day and fixed our issue. (I do have a LED controller that is not working right that they need to order and replace....but this is for another review). UPDATE 10/29/14: We had a known issue with one of our LED controllers. I called and let them know. They came out in an appropriate amount of time (the next day, I think) with new equipment and replaced it. They were prompt and professional.
Description of Work: We hired them to remove existing built-in's, build a wall for a screen and install a projector/DVD, etc.... Also wanted LED lights and sound panels on an adjacent wall.
