Please do not consider us for a one hour service call on if your speakers crackle or another company installed them or if you went to BestBuy to get your TV. We will be happy to quote you on a new system to replace your old one. We cannot be held responsible if other customers have higher priority. We prefer to give our time and effort to individuals who deserve not to hold us accountable for a one hour service call.

The purpose of this second rating is to acknowledge the service that Rick and his team provided long after the sale and initial work was complete. I started to have trouble with my satellite provider and TI stepped in and helped me understand the issues and come up with a resolution. I could not have done it on my own. I highly recommend Technology Interiors. Rick is willing to go above/beyond to ensure my satisfaction with his work. PS: request Kevin and Ian as your technicians. They are extremely knowledgeable and professional!
Description of Work: I used Technology Interiors in late 2007 and they did an excellent job making sense of the existing home theatre wiring & set-up that I inherited with the purchase of my house. I am very pleased with the outcome of their work.

Well the speaker system went 100% fine and the theater pre-wire went ok, but not 100% great. But the alarm system is what went to h*ll. The company never installed 1 exterior door properly, it never worked, but they would not come back at all. Then after agreeing to come back they said they would charge me for the repair. It should not be considered a repair because its not something that stopped working, its something that was not ever working. The alarm on that door was never set up at all. The techs that installed the system wrote that door down, but when they saw it was not working they scribbled through the writing that ID that door. Very irresponsible and no customer service to come make it right when it was their lack of service that made it so.
Description of Work: Technology Interiors installed an alarm system throughout the main floor for exterior doors, also pre-wired for theater room, and installed speaker system with FM receiver for main floor and basement.

THE BUILDER COVERED THE WIRE UP AND EXPECTED US TO FIX THEIR MISTAKES. ALSO THIS WAS A SPEC HOUSE AND TOOK 6 MONTHS TO GET PAID ON SO WE WERE NOT VERY ENTHUSIASTIC ABOUT A FREE SERVICE CALL. THE TEAM WENT BACK TO THIS HOUSE OVER 10 TIMES TO CORRECT CHANGES DUE TO CONSTRUCTION AND THIS HOUSE FINALLY SOLD TWO YEARS AFTER WE DID THE PREWIRE AND THE BUILDER HAD TO PAY FOR THE DOOR FIX FROM SOMEONE BECAUSE THEY COVERED IT UP! TECHNOLOGY INTERIORS DID EVERYTHING IT COULD TO MAKE SURE THE WIRES WERE IN THE RIGHT PLACE. IT'S FUNNY HOW YOU DON'T GET A COMPLAINT UNTIL SOMEONE REALIZES THEY HAVE TO PREPAY FOR SERVICE TWO YEARS AFTER THE INSTALL.

Met with Rick and went over our wants needs. He was very helpful in making suggestions on improving our home system, including new purchases of a multizone receiver, system control keypads, cd player, new speakers, etc. We were happy w the plan and gave him 50% down to get things ordered. He contacted me in about 1 wk with the news that everything was in and that they could start. His crew of 2 was on time and fairly professional. After 2 days they had a fairly complicated system figured out and running well. So why did I give them a C overall? Well, C in my mind is average. Their efforts on our project were just average. When we met w Rick, one of our wishes was that 2 speakers in our hearth room be attached to a wall mounted tv in that room. Although Rick acknowledged that wish and felt it was not an issue, at the end of the 2 days I was told by one of his techs that they would not be able to perform that part of the job. They couldnt find the wires, but for an additional $500 for another piece of equipment and labor at x$/hr they could work on it at a future time. Despite that being one of the primary issues I brought up originally, it was not addressed. I did tell the tech I would go ahead w the additional charges-he stated someone would contact me the next day to schedule it. 2 weeks later I have not heard from anyone. Also when I originally scheduled w rick, I declined an additional job w a camera at the front door and an ability to see the front door on tv monitor. Rick stated that he would throw that in for free. Well, the techs looked at it when they came but no one followed through w it. Now, I really cant complain about something I was going to get for free, but dont say you'll do something and not follow through. We also ahd new speakers mounted around our tv. When we spoke w Rick, we talked about removing the old speakers from the wall. During day 2 or install, I was asked by one of the techs if I wanted the speakers removed now because he didnt know my timeline for getting the drywall replaced. My assumption was that the speakers would be removed and the drywall would be performed. My fault for assuming that the job would be done in completion by the company I hired.Minor complaint-its always good to hear from the salesman after a job is complete. We received no call or email. Its important for me to say that everything they did do works wonderfully and that we're happy with the final result. I got the very distinct feeling, however that our $9400 job turned out to be only so important to this company. Despite the good job, it only takes a couple of miscues to ruin an experience. I've been an Angies List member for a couple of years--I'm definitely NOT looking for anything further from Rick's company--he has done basically what we paid for. I do not want any intervention from angies list. It simply could have been a more thorough and complete job. I want others to know both the good and bad.
Description of Work: Rick and his workers revamped our whole house audio system, including an ability to control music in several zones of the house. They installed new surround sound speakers and a subwoofer for our home theater. Integrated satellite tv, dvd etc using a multifuction remote. Istalled new speakers in our back yard and study.

As I remember, they were able to work with my crazy schedule. They listened to where I wanted it, but they had to put it where the studs in the wall were. They did not center the TV on the wall. They arrived on time and were professional. They hooked up the wires to the TV and hid them for me. I would recommend them to people who can afford high end installations.
Description of Work: I had this company mount a flat screen television on my wall. They supplied the TV mount.

Rick understood that I needed to find wall units similar in size and shape to the damaged ones. He worked to keep his price competitive. The installers were polite and efficient. Rick even gave me advice on products to help my hearing.

This is my second time using Rick's company. I was the first to report them to Angie's List several years ago so I knew their work would be exceptional. And it was. Josh arrived at our new house and provided me with a bid for replacing 3 TVs and then a bid for replacing 2 TVs and installing a theater system in our downstairs family room. I opted for the theater system installation bid. Josh and Ike arrived in conjunction with the network provider since I knew they'd be tieing all their equipment together. Josh and Ike got to work immediately and finished the install in a couple of days. Removing the 2 TVs was not fun since they were very huge and one was being removed from a bonus room over the garage. I really cannot express my overall satisfaction with these guys. They have the patience of saints since we had problems with the network provider not doing their work properly (we discovered after the fact). They explained how each remote worked and answered all my questions -- since I am not all that technically inclined when it comes to these things. My overall bid turned out to be higher than they quoted because they installed an extra Blue Ray player and I upgraded a plasma TV. I did not hesitate in calling Technology Interiors only for the bid because I knew would do the job right and they did.
Description of Work: Removed 3 old TVs (2 were 50+ inches installed in the wall), installed a theater, installed Blue Ray, and replaced all TVs.

They gave us a great price on an amp and help evaluate the best amp for my system. Also installed my stereo so that it would work with a confusing speaker system installed in the house.

Work was done as scheduled and on time. The leader of the team, Josh, was totally concerned that I would have what I wanted down to the upmost detail. When the work was done he wrote out all the remote control functions and instructions so I could use the system immediately. He also made sure all my TIVO boxes were integrated with the system to operate the way I requested. Josh and his co workers returned to install my new HD boxes from Comcast and again made sure I knew how to operate all functions after the new boxes were installed.
Description of Work: Installed a new HDTV in upstairs family room and replaced old theatre system downstairs with all new projector, screen and components for TV, Blue Ray CD, HD, Music, etc. I now have one remote for all functions both up and downstairs, replacing at least 12 former remotes necessary to operate previous functions.

We bought a home that had a sound system built into the home. There were 14 speakers in the house and 2 speaker wiring hookups outside. Technology Interiors came out to give me an estimate to install volume control knobs that were missing as well as install new outdoor speakers, install new stereo receiver and amplifier and to get the system running. I had another company come out to give me an estimate and the other company said it was too complicated for them to figure out so I called Technology Interiors. Based on their estimate, I choose Technology Interiors to complete the above work. They were very punctual - both for the estimate and for the actual installation. The installation crew was very helpful and answered all my questions related the setup of the system. In addition, they were knowledgeable about the technology and were very helpful.
Description of Work: Install volume control knobs, outdoor speakers, stereo amplifier and receiver and get home stereo system running.

Quality of work is average. This wasn't a complicated job. With sufficient attention they could have wrapped this in less than a day and a half. It is disappointing that a company that was on the A list performed this poorly. I checked the list today and this company isn't showing up on the A list now.
Description of Work: Contracted to setup a home theater system that I purchased. They weren't excited to do the work since they weren't supplying the equipment, however, agreed to perform the job. They did one days worth of work and then told us they are double booked and would come back to finish the job. After several calls from us to them trying to setup a follow-up appointment, they setup another date. At the last minute (the day before) they called and wanted to reschedule. All the time, TV couldn't be used since the voice was programmed incorrectly. More delays. Finally on the day they came, he could only stay for 3 hrs. Eventually came in and spent a few hrs to finish the job. Determined the universal remote was faulty and volunteered to get a replacement. Promised to have it back in 24-48 hrs. Still no follow-up. After 6 days of waiting, when I called the gentleman said he was busy and gave it to some one else. Offered 1 hr free labor. We decide to cancel the service at that point and plan to look for an alternate service provider.

THE MEMBER BOUGHT A THEATER IN A BOX FROM EBAY - THE REMOTE WAS BROKEN AND HE EXPECTED US TO PERFORM A MIRACLE - WE ACTUALLY PICKED UP THE REMOTE AND TOOK IT HOME TO TRY TO REPAIR IT FOR HIM. WHEN WE TOLD HIM THE REMOTE WAS BAD HE WAS OUTRAGED. I WAS RELUCTANT TO WORK FOR HIM BECAUSE HE WAS NEGATIVE ABOUT THE PREVIOUS AUDIO COMPANY HE HIRED TO WORK FOR HIM. WE DID EXACTLY WHAT HE ASKED AND WAS SO HAPPY TIL HE FOUND OUT WE COULD NOT FIX A BROKEN EBAY ITEM. I BELIEVE THE MEMBER REPORTED THIS JUST TO BE SPITEFUL AND DISRESPECTFUL TO OUR RATING BECAUSE HE CAN. THE ONLY SINGLE ITEM HE BOUGHT WAS A MOUNT AND NEVER SAID A WORD ABOUT ANYTHING ELSE UNTIL WE ARRIVED AND THEN SAID "OH BY THE WAY, CAN YOU INSTALL THIS $400 THEATER IN A BOX AND USED REMOTE FROM EBAY! GO FIGURE A GUY THAT HAS TIME TO WRITE BAD REPORTS ON US BUT CAN'T BUY NEW WARRANTY PRODUCT AND BE HONEST ABOUT THE WORK HE EXPECTED.

The gentlemen who came to do the work were pleasant, professional, and very competent. There was a minor issue that they very promptly and politely came back to handle. Getting to the day of the work was a little more difficult...the office was fairly slow in returning calls to get an estimate and get work scheduled. Rick came out to provide the estimate and didn't really provide much guidance for us on the best setup for the room (as we had hoped/asked for).
Description of Work: We had speaker wire run through the walls in our family room.

Rick came to my house to give me an estimate & designed a home theatre for my basement. The price was a lot less than I thought and I got a 92" TV! Everyone, from Rick the owner to the installers were wonderful. Great customer service and quality products at an excellent price. It could not have been a better experience!

WE MOUNTED AN EXISTING CLIENT-OWNED 42" HITACHI PLASMA WITH 5 KLIPSCH SPEAKERS IN THE CEILING & CONNECTED THEM TO A NEW DENON RECEIVER WITH HER EXISTING DVD PLAYER & CABLE BOX. AFTER ALL THE COMPONENTS WERE INSTALLED & TESTED WE PROGRAMMED A UNIVERSAL REMOTE WE WERE CONTRACTED TO INSTALL. Rick recommend a Yamaha sound bar over installing 5.1 speakers to save install time. This was a great recommendation! Running the Ethernet from the office to the basement is no easy feat in a fully finished house. It looked like it was planning and running from the start. The attention to detail was first rate.
Description of Work: Installed flat screen TV and audio for living room. They also installed Cat5e network cable from the top floor of the house to the basement.

Very well. The installation took slightly longer than expected, but the installer was very conscientious and did an excellent job. There are a few, small open issues (installation of a dimmer switch and synching the remote with the equipment so that it's easier to use) that I'm confident will be taken care of when Technology Interiors returns this week to install a plasma TV in my living room. The owner, Rick Goren, has been great to deal with. I had in my mind that I would install a plasma TV with an articulating arm in my basement. But when Rick came out to our house, he suggested the projector and screen, which was a much better idea than we had. I had to prompt the other two companies that came out to our house about this idea. One actually said it wouldn't work well and the other, after hearing the idea, thought it would be great. But without prompting I'm not sure either would have come up with the concept. I'm glad I chose Technology Interiors!

I called Technology Interiors to have them reconfigure a home theater system I had purchased from the previous owner. The equipment was in a different room and not setup entirely correct. I spoke with Justin and he couldn't have been more helpful. He was able to come out that afternoon and not only fix the wiring problems I had but sold me a new remote control system that makes the entire system much more functional. I have a couple other stereo/home theater projects I will be working on in the next few months and I will definitely call Technology Interiors/Justin again.

They did a very nice job. They took their time and made sure that I was satisfied with the final product. They cleaned up after themselves and answered all of my questions before leaving. I was very happy with the service and price ($70 per hour) however, I was not fully satisfied with cost of the video component cables. I was told over the phone, prior to the service date, that they would match any price found on the Internet for cables; however, the men that showed up to do the work had no knowledge of the agreement, and had to charge me full price (2 cables at $32.50 each). The price of the cables was not unreasonable, but I could've purchased much cheaper on-line ahead of their visit. All in all, I was very happy with the work done, and the price was fair. They were careful, professional and were happy to answer any and all of my questions. I would utilize their services again.
Description of Work: Installed 37'' LCD TV to wall with articulating arm, including running component video cords behind drywall to entertainment center.

Josh came out to the house and provided us with a bid on hanging plasma TV and suggestions on how to better streamline our electronic equipment. We went with their suggestions in upgrading our receiver and using their remote. Justin and Ike (actual installers) were great. They knew their stuff and we couldn't be happier. We are considering installing a home theater system in our finished basement and would definitely use them to do the work.

Rick's team was very professional the entire way through, from the initial estimate to the final details of the installation. They thoroughly explained the capabilities, and how to use each of the new components. Their estimate was also 1/3 less than anyone else.
Description of Work: They wired our Master Bedroom TV to a receiver, and installed speakers in the Master Bed & bath. In addition, they wired and mounted a large screen TV in the Family Room.

The overall experience was outstanding. The owner/manager Rick Goren came to the house and patiently worked with us to determine what we were wanting and matched it up with what is available. He promptly provided a quote. He was available to answer further questions, especially about the challenges of installation. There was one disconnect about the time of installation, but the scheduling team was courteous and recognized their oversight and worked with us to move forward. The installation crew was outstanding. The craftsmanship of the installation was fine. They answered every question completely. At my request, they reviewed each of the many pieces needed and what it did. They efficiently reviewed how to control the system and their programming made it a snap to use. Without a doubt, this is a great company to work with for home theater systems!
Description of Work: Installation of a large flat screen TV along with the necessary equipment for a home theater (surround sound). One of the challenges that Technology Interiors didn't flinch at, another Angie's List highly rated vendor couldn't even consider. There was a genuine challenge of installing the TV over a fireplace and within an entire wall of custom bookshelves and connect it up to the control center at a different corner of the room.

After a little scheduling glitch the day after Christmas, the company sent Kevin over to install the new remote. Kevin was extremely patient, knowledgeable, and friendly. He spent 3 hours with us. Obviously we had to pay for the time that was spent with us, but it was the best money I ever spent. I would recommend this company to anyone. I also would call them again if I needed their services.
Description of Work: Universal remote control: reconfigured our TV and home theater system and trained us on the remote control.
