Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

They are very competent at their job and are always professional. They were very prompt because when I called them, it was during all the flooding and they were able to come and replace it in a timely fashion.

They came quickly when they said they would. I got several estimates and theirs was much cheaper and offered just as much service as the other bids. They did a great job and I would use them again. There was nothing we were surprised with, hidden costs, fees, or additional service, etc.

I described the situation before they came out. They did not have a problem with there being several inches of water in the basement. The problem was actually on the opposite side of the duplex. I did not have to meet them, I just had to give them a credit card over the phone (it was for a rental property). The only trouble I had was getting a bill. I wanted a mailed copy of the bill and I had to make a couple follow up calls to get one.

They did a great job while they were working that they didn't make a mess by laying tarps down on the floor. They were very prompt with my initial call, they came right out to repair the drain.

Called and set appt. time for between 4:00pm and 6:00pm. Company called about 5:00pm to say running late and be at our house in 1 hour. At 8:00pm still had not arrived and no phone call. I called the company and they could not say when they would even arrive that evening. I was very upset because our main drain clogged and water coming up in basement and we had been waiting to get our water problem fixed. Representative did not seem to concerned for our situation. Recommended by our neighbors, but we will never call this company again.

Great. Returned later to re-do the faucet work due to quality. Did not charge for the second visit. Apparently an outlier situation.

They were here within the hour after the call. They seemed to know what they were doing.

I called several places and they were the only ones that could get out in time. He was here longer than expected and did not complain. he was very prompt and did a really good job. I would use them again.

On 8/23/07 I was at home waiting and was called around 6 pm by their dispatch stating they were running "a little behind" and someone may actually be at my place by 7 pm. I stated that I had called the day before, set up an "appointment", arranged to be there during their window, and I expected them to be there. I was called again at 6:42 pm stating that they would be keeping me updated throughout the evening. "What does that mean", I asked? I inquired how long it would be, and she stated 2-3 hours. I canceled the appointment at that point since the concept of a scheduled appointment does not mean anything to them. I am very disappointed in the fact that "a little behind" was not qualified during the first call around 6 pm. I have already checked the list and found a local reputable plumbing company to perform this service.

Very impressed. I called them late in the afternoon and they were able to get someone out the same day within an hour.

HORRIBLE. I have never experienced an ordeal as the one just completed these past 3 months from any company. We scheduled work, they hired a 3rd party to complete to line replacement. This company did work based on what was communicated to him from Roto Rooter. I happened to come home to find out the following: Pipe quoted not used, 10ft. was not replaced. It was explained to me that these changes would be fine. The next morning my basement flooded again. Rep Shannon, can back out to snake the line and found roots in the section of pipe not replaced as I was told it did not need to be replaced. The rep tried to say the pipe was 40 grade PVC when it was obvious it was 35, our contract was to use 40. He said they would be back to finish the job. In the meantime I called around to discover I had been way overcharged. When the rep came back we discussed and agreed to a lower price to finish the job as they had already used the wrong grade pipe. Long story short, 3 mos. later work is done.

As the rep. and I agreed to have excavation work back in February '07, he stated they would put the clean out outside and repair the broken indoor clean out that another rep, Chris, broke and did not tell me. The work was excavation work was completed by a 3rd party, I have not seen a Roto Rooter representative since my first meeting that we agreed to this pipe capped off properly.

I was so disappointed. The work performed on the leak did not take long at all. The faucet in the bathroom continued to leak. They had to come out three times to fix all of the mistakes and work all together. I also had a water leak under the sink that he fixed but the man did not add it to the paper work so once it started leaking and I had them back they would not touch it.

He didn't charge me anything extra, just the parts. The gentleman that came out (Peter) was very prompt in getting there. Very respectful, clean (didn't smell like a goat or like cigarettes), got the job done in a very reasonable amount of time. I've used them in the past and they've always done a good job for me. I would recommend other people use them.

They were punctual, helpful in explaining what was causing the problem, and gave solutions that would be less expensive while finding a solution that would cure problem.

I am very pleased with the work done. It was a relief to get the problem fixed. If I have additional plumbing jobs in the future, I will definitely use Roto-Rooter.

I didn't have them do the work. I used another Angie's List plumbing company as the other company gave me a lower and fixed price and explained thoroughly what caused the problem and how to prevent it in the future.

They were terrific. They worked with us and made recommendations.

Called because the main line was stopped up and the toilets/bath/shower were backing up. This was about 9:00 pm on Jan. 1 (New Years day). They could come out later that night, but would be overtime or next morning at normal rates. We decided to wait until the next morning. Excellent notification system. They called at least 3 times to let us know the status of the service rep. He showed up when scheduled. Cleaned the main line and we decided to go ahead and have the kitchen line cleaned out. No problem.

After my first call the representative told me they could have a service man in my area at approximately 5:00pm. At about 5:30 I placed a second call. This time a different representative transferred me to the local area where I was told it would be at least an hour before someone was available. At about 7:00pm the service man arrived. He was professional and completed the job within an hour. This consisted of routing out the main drain line from my home to the main line in the street, approximately 100 feet. I was given a 6 month guarantee.

Plumber arrived on time. Spent alot of extra time trying to get in to the old sewer piping. Had to busted off the end cap and replaced it for free, without exceeding the original estimate.

Did a great job on the plumbing, but left on Friday at 5 pm leaving me with no toilet facilities and no shower until Monday night.

Needed Drain Cleaned & to see if they could fix the shower handle so the water temp would change. $175 for drain cleaning, and that was done quickly. The bathroom had been redone more than 10 years ago, and the stop ring was missing, and a part was bent. The Delta faucet products were no longer under warranty. He drove to a plumbing supplier and said it would take about an hour there and back. I didnt know that I would be paying for his drive time. I ran an errand and after I returned home, the phone rang. The plumbing place only had a reasonably priced option, and that was for another $125 could replace part of the shower set up with chrome and mine is brass. To get something that would match was going to be over $400.00. I said no! When he presented the bill it was for $320. Like I said, I didnt know I would be paying for his drive time, otherwise, I would have suggested that he call the plumbing parts store first! Ben was good, professional, polite and used shoe booties

They were able to diagnose the problem and replace it. The original guy they sent out to fix it sort of botched the job, but the second guy they sent out did a better job. They did a fine job. Overall, the company and workers were fairly good except for the faucet job that took two different visits.

The tub has a gigantic chip in it which wasn't there before they came and is beyond dirty. They were called out to fix the leak in the stool and the next day I had the same problem, so I stopped payment on the check. He also stopped up the drain in my tub. Based on my own experience with Roto-Rooter, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone and they haven't returned my phone call yet.
