Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

Artie was the tech on the job and he couldn't have been more professional and hard working. He arrived on time at my house at around 2pm and didn't leave until 730. I had another Plumbing company (Highly rated on Angie's List) unblock a floor drain in my basement that kept clogging up 2 months earlier and the problem remained. Their recommendation was to re run our entire kitchen drain. I had been told by a friend in construction that if I wanted it done right I should call RotoRooter. I knew that this was not going to be a cheap fix but wanted it taken care of. Artie did not just come in and run an auger down the drain a couple times and leave. He spent almost 2 hours on the kitchen, they use hand tools to make sure that the entire system is free of years of built up stuff. He did this on all of the other main lines in the house giving me tips on how to avoid future issues. (My house was built in 72), They offer a 6 month warranty on the work they did. These guys do the hard work to make sure your system is clear. I then had a supervisor come out the next week to have a camera go through my main drain. I saw neighbors with front lawns dug up and that was my worst nightmare. I held my breath as the camera went through and found that my line was in great condition. Jack was the supervisor and helped me get a quote on a water softener but didn't' at anytime try to push anything on me. I can say that this company has the customer service thing down. Extremely professional from start to finish. I can't thank Artie enough for his hard work. It has been almost a month and we have had no issues. Jack was great on the inspection. You will pay a little more but they fix the problem the first time.

Had a stubborn clog in a downstairs toilet. Tried everything ( plunger, vinegar and baking soda, hot water ) nothing worked. Called Roto Rooter. Very professional, rep told me she could have someone here within 2 hours and would call ahead when they were on the way. Fifteen minutes later received call tech was in route. Jeff arrived and went right to work. Had the clog cleared within 15 minutes. He tested the toilet a number of times and had me do the same. Jeff did not leave unite we were satisfied with the work performed. Jeff was very professional. Roto Rooter is the best. Have used them before and will again. I highly recommend them.

Technicians David and Bruce did a great job attempting to clear an exterior drain. When things didn't go as expected, David and Bruce ran a camera through the line to find the real source of the problem. It turned out the drain was not clogged at all. It was just not actually connected to another line the way we thought it was. Another company that I used earlier assumed the drain had collapsed without running a camera and told me they would need to dig and excavate a new drain at a cost of $3000-$5000! David and Bruce saved me a ton of money by taking the extra step of running the camera to find out the real problem. It was very obvious looking at the camera that I didn't need to dig at all. Called for service and Dusty (2794) was at our front door inside an hour from our call. He was very courteous, very professional and spent an extensive period of time ensuring that our problem was taken care of completely. He cleaned up the area from the resulting obstructed drain without being asked. Very satisfied.

We called at 10:10am for an urgent drain situation affecting our commercial tenant building. The office said they could have someone there within two hours. The service man arrived within 30 MINUTES and did a great job!

Rick from Roto-Rooter arrived at our frozen yogurt shop before the scheduled time. Within five minutes gave us an estimate once he saw the grease trap, he did not need to open it since he had seen many like this before. This was our first time so he explained thoroughly all the steps and how long it would take. Once we agreed to the price he proceeded with the half hour procedure. It does stink up the place so be forewarned if you have not done this before. Also accepted our Angie's list coupon since the number we had called said we could use it on the grease trap cleanout. We would definitely use them again.

Outstanding service. Came home, opened the basement door, and saw the dreaded wet carpet and knew I had a drain backing up. This was 8:30pm. Called, got a callback in 10 minutes, and had a tech out 20 minutes later. What a relief. David was awesome. Super friendly and professional. Got us taken care of in under 2 hours and things were flowing right again. I was a bit concerned when I called initially and they wouldn't quote a price, but they said no trip charge and the tech would give us a no obligation quote after assessing the situation. Often this is not a good thing and I was a little worried of being taken advantage of. I asked if there was an after hours charge and was told no, they are 24/7. Anyway, I was relieved when he quoted $275 minus a coupon; from past experience I know this is a very fair price. I could not be happier and will positively call again for future needs as well as recommend them unconditionally.

Standing water in our basement resulted in a call to Roto-Rooter to schedule someone to come and clear our sewer line. I was able to get an appointment set up within the next hour. The technicians arrived within 10 minutes of my initial call and spent the next two hours clearing out a large amount roots from the line. Although they were able to clear out the roots reachable with the standard drain cleaner, a camera scan of the pipe showed that there was still significant root growth left in the larger section of the sewer line .The supervisor who scanned the sewer line recommended having our line cleaned out using jet powered water. This service would cost about $600.00 but to do this an access pipe would have to be installed in our yard.at the cost of about $3300.00. We live in a 100 year old house with several large trees much older than our house. We have had these lines cleaned out many, many times over the past 30 years but only using the standard sewer line clearing tool. Although the cost to get the sewer line cleaned was beyond our budget, we felt the need to reduce all the root growth and the possibility of future line problems that would cost us far more than $3900.00. The work was scheduled for the next day and the excavating team arrived before 9:00 the next morning. The crew dug a 7-8 foot hole using a back hoe with precision and speed. Another crew installed the access pipe with the whole process taking about 2-3 hours. The crew of technicians who clean out the sewer lines using jet powered water spent 4-5 hours cleaning our sewer lines using three different cutting heads and over 600 gallons of water to ensure the lines were clear of roots. Throughout the cleaning process, they used a camera to scope the lines checking for stubborn roots as well as any problems with the existing clay pipes of our sewer line. A hole was detected in a section of the clay pipes and the technician explained my options to correct the problem and the risks if I decide not to fix the problem. The following day, the same supervisor from the day before scoped the sewer line again to see if all the roots were removed and to check the integrity of the whole line. The hole in the pipe was apparent to which the supervisor provided an estimate of the cost to repair the pipe. The services provided by each person I interacted with was exemplary . They were prompt, courteous, skilled, conscientious, and a pleasure to work with throughout the entire process. I will use Roto-Rooter in the future and recommend them to anyone needing plumbing services. My husband and I noticed that the hot water pressure in our house was low so we called Roto Rooter and asked them to come out and do a diagnostic for us. We were told there was no charge for the service call. The guy came to the house to check the water heater and told us that it would cost $60 to remove the top part of the water heater to determine the problem, which is contrary to being told that there is no charge for the service call. We ended up not having to pay this. I should also mention that he told us that if he could not remove the valve that connects the water heater to the pipes then we would have to replace the entire water heater, which was not true. Once the valve was removed, he showed us the sediment that had built up (hard water issues) and said we needed to have the valve that connects the pipes to the water heater itself replaced. He didn't have the part so he would need to purchase it and then return at a later date to do the work. We were told that it would cost approximately $200 to do the work. My husband had second thoughts and obtained a second opinion. The "new" guy came in and said the water heater actually looked good, but there was sediment build up from the hard water. He used a tool to break up the sediment and fully clear the blocked area. Then he re-connected the value to the pipes and heater, turned on the water, and everything was back to normal. It took 2 minutes from beginning to end, there was no charge, and the valve did not have to be replaced. I don't like to assume the worst of people so......maybe Roto Rooter needs to provide better diagnostic training. Moral of the story....get a second opinion.

Was impressed by the conscientiousness of Jonas, Craig and Edward. It was a huge job, and extremely expensive, but they worked efficiently and thoughtfully. Kept a tarp up when jackhammering thru the concrete to attempt to keep the dust to a minimum, cleaned up as well as they could. Were careful to explain what they were going to do and what they had done-took a lot of time to answer questions. I will absolutely use them again as needed.

There were 2 men. They were on time, courteous and it took them no time to fix the problem. I've also used this company in Texas to help fix a clogged sewer. They were great! Came out same day and within an hour had the plumbing working perfectly.

The service did not work out because they wouldn't inspect the pipes in depth.

The first tech (sent in June 2012) was great. Very professional and prompt. The second tech that came in November 2012 for the call back, was less professional and immediately blamed the drain issue on pet hair.

They came out immediately and took care of the problem. Scheduling was immediate.We were very pleased with their work and responsiveness. We have used them before with positive results.

Steve is a great plumber!!! He is very knowledgeable when it comes to the plumbing in older homes.

He restored drainage and left no mess behind after a messy job. The entire job took about 3 and a half hours from inspection to removal of equipment.

A clog in my main sewer line caused a back-up and just about flooded my basement. My Angie's List plumber didn't have the equipment to reach the clog between the house and the street and recommended Roto-Rooter. Due to the emergency situation, they were working on the clog within half an hour of calling them and had the problem cleared very quickly as they had the right equipment to do the job. As preventative maintenance, I will be having Roto-Rooter back every couple of years to keep my sewer line trouble free. Highly recommend!

I live in an old rented house with a dirty cobwebbie cellar and old plumbing and equipment. I`m always embarressed to have workmen come to do anything down there. They sent a young man who was personable and professional. When I apologized about the condition of the cellar he put me at ease by telling me he`d seen much worse and it was all in a days work. He was neat and efficent and friendly. Though this is a rented house I`ve lived here so long I pay for most major repairs myself. I would definitely call on this company again. They were great from the woman on the phone who books the appointment to the serviceman who came to our house to the owner everyone was friendly and helpful. After I paid the bill i remembered I had a coupon. I called the office and they promptly credited the difference.

These guys were great! They even stayed late to get the job done. I boarder horses so it was important to clear the drain asap.
