Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

Our kitchen drain drops into the basement and then makes a long straight run to the main drain at the opposite end of the house. Other than the initial turn beneath the kitchen sink this pipe is entirely straight and therefore, not a challenge for the technician. This gentleman was completely professional, carefully laying out his protective tarp, and being appropriately careful. I would say I felt more comfortable with this gentleman than with any other drain clearer we've ever used. I have his name and if we need further drain work we will definitely request him. I was surprised, and somewhat disappointed, that when I called to make our appointment their service rep told me they never give any potential costs, not even ranges. I tried to coax an idea about the cost but he maintained he had no knowledge of possible costs. This is probably smart on their part but I'd prefer tentative range. I suppose their charge is fair but often our daily Indianapolis Star has an ad affixed to the front page reading, "$99, any drain, any day". I liked this technician so well I won't try the $99 service.

The service was pretty good. I ended up paying about 200 bucks. They did a good job. They fixed the plumbing problem. I would use them again. I do not think they are the cheapest. They were good.

Arrived and complained about how much money he was losing due to Angie's list special. had to leave to go get valves which was the reason we called them for in the first place (they should have had them with them). The work they did leaked (not the valves, but the seam they created when replacing the valves)...leaked all over our drywall. When I called they said they'd send someone out right away...within 2 hours. 4.5 hours later the guy showed up. different guy. He fixed the leak the first crew created and then left. Then we found out that one of the two crews shut off our watersoftner and did not turn back on. had to call again. the first guy came back and figured out what was wrong and turned the water softener back on and blamed the guy that came out to fix his leak. It was not a good experience and do not recommend. Maybe okay for drain issues, I don't know, but not for plumbing.

New toilet was installed previously by a handyman service but flushing problems developed later. I had serviceman from Roto Rooter Plumbing check toilet; a minor adjustment corrected the problem and we have had no further problems since. The plumber then installed a new water efficient toilet (that we had purchased from Lowes) in an upstairs bathroom. I was totally satisfied with his professionalism and workmanship. I would definitely call them again for any plumbing needs! It was a pleasure dealing with a service that I feel I can trust to do reputable work. Thanks, Roto Rooter!

Quick response, on time, technician was very thorough in inspection of pipes under house, at city sewer connection. He was equipped with all the correct tools and was able to clear main line of roots. Thoroughly cleaned up after. Knowledgeable of options for improving conditions and minimizing future issues.

Despite the fact that we'd had issues for months previous to the visit (and issues since), the problem apparently didn't happen while the plumber was here (my wife was at home when the plumber arrived). He gave us a quote for replacing the valve in the master shower (on the second floor), which is unlikely to be the source of our problem (the problem usually occurs when the water is running on the main floor). I can't be upset since they can't be expected to fix a problem that they couldn't observe, but I am unhappy that I spent $79 to have someone come out to my house and shrug.

I already had water lines ran from the main line (that ran along the rafters) to the location of the sink. For the plumber to run 1 foot of pex for the hot water and 1 foot of pex for cold water and 1 foot of PVC for the drain cost me $363.50. The plumber said labor was $219.00 a hour. ARE YOU HIGH! Police and fireman get paid about $20-30 a hour, car mechanics get paid $45-90 a hour, electrician up to $100 a hour. For $219.00 a hour I'm not sure why everyone isn't a plumber. With that being said the plumber came out at 1:30 in the morning, but still. I would have done the work myself however I did not have the tools nor the equipment and it had to be completed before the counter top came at 8am. Unfortunately there isn't a home improvement store open 24 hours a day so I was forced to pay the absurd amount of money. I had my entire basement roughed in which consisted of many many feet of pex, 2 shower heads, 3 shower jets, 1 shower wand, ejector pump hook up, and the sink roughed in for $1500. All that for $1500 and just because I needed an extra foot for the sink I have to pay nearly $400. Next time I will plan ahead so I don't have to choose Roto-ripoff. Find a nice small family owned business where the overhead isn't so much. With that being said the technician was polite, for the most part on time, covered his shoes, was as punctual as possible at 1:30am, and completed the work. It is for the price alone that I write a negative review and will never use company again.

They came out fairly quickly. I needed them at one of my own properties. I was shocked by their hourly rate. I probably will never use their services again. For one call they used up the whole $250. They did what they needed to do. The hourly rate was way too expensive. I had the additional cost for materials. I would not use them again. The time frame and what they did was fine. Everything was fine. I think it took them and hour and a half.

Very professional, work done as requested. Quality of work was very good and the individual who came was very knowledgeable.

It worked out good. I called and set up an appointment and they came out a couple days later. Quick and responsive.

Wax ring was no problem after plumber believed me that two rings were required, after first expressing doubt that this old biddy knew anything. However, it took three visits by two different men to get the spout installed correctly. May be great at drain problems but I won't use them for routine small simple plumbing jobs again.

We called this company because it was rated A on Angie's list, but were very disappointed. We not call them again.

My experience was satisfactory. They were prompt and he was informative. I had no issues with scheduling an appointment. The technician was very nice.

We were out of town for three months. ?When we returned home and tried to use the disposal, it did not work. ?A lot of water and junk came up to the top of the sink and it took a long time for it to run down the sink. ?The disposal trap in kitchen sink was stopped up. It was quite a mess. I called Roto-Rooter in the late evening. ?Someone came out around 8:00 am the next morning. The first man that showed up said he could not fix it because the area was too small and tight for him to get access. ?He joked around and said I needed a small man from Berma. ?He was not too professional by the way he handled the situation. ?He said that he would call the small Berma man to see if he could solve the problem for me. I really did not understand why he used those words and was smiling.?He did not sound very professional or serious about the problem. ?(I was really upset for a while.) ?He went outside?to make a call and then came back in and said that the Berma man would be at my house within an hour. I had no ideal who would show up. ?When the "Berma" man showed up, he was a smaller man, a little dark complexion, not as big?or tall as the original "funny" man. ?But--the man who showed up was very professional. ?He was able to get into the tight area and did a great job. ?Since he was here, I had two other things that I wanted him to help me with the bathtub?was a little slow draining out AND the drain in the garage area was also slow draining out. He said he would?be glad to work on them, too. ?He did a really good job on fixing the problems AND he sounded professional all the time he talked with me. Overall, it went well, once the serious, professional man showed up.

Went well. Only issue I had was the worker point Ted out some leaks in my pipes it was unable to fix them or even tell me what would be the best thing to do. Only suggested I call the co. And have someone who knows what to do come out.

Couldn't tell me what was wrong but told me I need to dig up yard and replace sewer pipe gave me price of 6800.00 dollars, told them I need to get second option second company came out unclogged drain cost 150.00 dollars.

The next day I received a phone call from Roto-Rooter rep (Jeff's supervisor ) with a Quote for $3500.00 to put in an exterior clean-out in and said he would give me a 10% discount if i told them to "go ahead" ! was very disappointed in the price gouging . I then contacted another company and they came right out and put in an exterior clean-out the next day for half the price and jetted out the sewer line . Seeing how aggravated i was they said i would get my $69.95 that i was charged for toilet removal .

I purchased a coupon from Angies List for $79 for $250 worth of plumbing services. I scheduled the work and the technician was timely. I showed him the work I needed completed. My first red flag was the plumber read the directions for a looong time on install of the sink/drain. He looked at the work and stated worst case scenario he would have to open drywall to move some plumbing and replace water lines to make them taller. His worst case scenario was an estimate of $850, minus the credit from the coupon. I hesiated but ok'd. He stated this would be worst case and would be cheaper if those events did not take place. He then started the work about 45 minutes after he arrived. Granted it was not a typical drain arrangement, but not so complicated it should not have been done quickly. The technician actually asked me to help him lift and install the sink, which I gladly did. The faucet was then installed. Instead of rel=placing water lines we decided to just go to Lowes to buy faucet line extensions. He also needed a small piece of pipe, which he did not have on his truck. He left for Lowes - which is less than 4 miles from my house. He was gone for almost one hour. He then returned and to complete the task. When testing he installed and reinstalled the overflow line numerous times because he could not figure out why it was leaking. After several attempts he realized he forgot to install the line with the gasket it came with. Amazingly the leak stopped after the gasket was installed. All this took 4 hours!!! He did not have to remove drywall, move plumbing, change water lines. He did not reset the toilet, but that was not his fault. He finished exactly at 5pm. He said he would go to his truck and write up the bill and be back in 5 minutes. 30 minutes later I went out to his truck where he was still sitting to get the bill. The bill was $700, minus the coupon for a total of $510.13. This included parts of $56.20 - I presume the 2 faucet line extensions which are not $56, or even close. When I received the bill I stated that the bill seemed really high given none of the worst case scenario's he outlined occurred. I got no reaction. I reluctantly wrote the check and would follow up with their office Monday AM. I called first thing Monday AM and was told someone would call me back to discuss the issue right away. I am still waiting for the call. I have used Roto Rooter at times in the past with no real issues. However, I felt like I was taken advantage of and there is no way this job should have taken 4 hours to complete, nt should I have to pay this much to install a sink and faucet.. I will NEVER use this company again. I would guess that based on the office not returning the call, they really don't care. Buyer beware. UPDATE: I did receive a call from a representative from Roto-Rooter about a week later to discuss the entire job. We agreed the job should have been completed in 2 hours versus the 4 hours I was charged. They offered to refund the 2 hours, which they did. I appreciate them reaching out to me and resolving the issue for me. They were understanding of my frustration, which I also appreciate.

Great! Called near noon and they came out that afternoon. Very professional, gave great advice and was really helpful. Great service and good price.

The first plumber Evan replaced the outside hose bib. He couldn't get the old faucet out so he called Mark who came and was able to remove and replace the faucet. Mark did a great job and is very professional.

Perfect. ?This is the second time using Roto-Rooter Indianapolis office at 6809 Hillsdale Court. ?Technician Ken Jenkins came out to our house on March 12th and found that our sump pump line was frozen. ?He was thorough, knowledgeable, and explained that at this point we could just wait until it thawed with warm weather or we could put a tee on the outside of the house where there was plumbing as a back up to the sump pump. ?There was no pressure to do this, he even showed us if we had an emergency how to cut the pvc pipe to get the water out of the pit. ?Ken left giving us an estimate how much it would cost to do the outside tee and hose. ?Then that night the rain came, pipe still frozen and sump pump pit filled filled with water 11pm at night. ?We went outside and did what Ken told us to do and we were saved at not having a basement flooded. ?The next morning(Saturday) we called and Ken was out promptly to do the work that he had given us. ?No extra that it was on Saturday, exactly what we had been quoted. ?I cant say enough about Ken Jenkins and how wonderful he treated us as customers. ?This is the best Roto-Rooter office around central Indiana as far as I am concerned and I will continue to use them when needed.

Roto Rooter was scheduled to come between 2 and 4. When no one showed up during that time, I called them and someone finally came around 5 pm. Knowing the the deals are not always as good as they appear, I was not surprised when the first thing the employee pulled out was a price list. I had asked to have the sewer line cleaned out because I suspected roots in the system. The serviceman however felt the line from the clean out was flowing well and wanted to rooter out the toilet itself. I was hesitant because we had already tried that ourselves with some success, but he said that if that did not fix the slow moving toilet that he would not charge me for that process and we could move to the next step and that he might actually need to remove the toilet from the floor. Additionally, he said that I would need to pay for a $55 product that he had brought. He used this in the toilet, but told me later that I should not use it for the toilet, but only for the sink lines. He explained that the product was not covered in the deal and I did remember reading that. The serviceman then proceeded to rooter the toilet with such force that the toilet seemed to lift up and I was thinking he meant to remove the toilet from the floor right then. However, when the action was done the toilet function did improve and I have not had any trouble with the toilet a month later.

The gentleman that came out and helped was good. To schedule the appointment was unprofessional.
