It went well except that i felt they charged higher than norm

the job was done great. it didn't take forever.

I called and the person who answered offered me an appointment that morning. I couldn't take that because I had to go to work so she offered 1pm in the afternoon which was fine. The man called to tell me he was on the way. Once he came, he understood the problem and kept putting the electric machine with the long "snake" down into our pipes and removed all of the built-up roots in them. Then he also checked to make sure that there were no problems between our house and the street. He also offered to look under the house to see if anything was leaking. He found one area and explained what might be causing it but it didn't turn out to be a problem.

Great! Same day service, and very honest technician. We were told that he may not be able to clear our pipe, and that the fee would reflect whether the job was completed or not. This service saved us thousands of dollars, as a different company recommended we completely remove and replace the pipe. Thank you Roto Rooter!!

....called at 8:30 and was told I'd get an in-person meeting that night between 11 pm & 3 am. OK. It's a saturday, I get it. In the meantime some buds came by with some shop vacs to clear out some of the standing water. Their 2 shop vacs and 3 buckets cost me 2 beers and an hour of my time. Roto called once before that to confirm someone coming by to look at the drainage problem but mostly to sell me on post drain clean up. YOU HAVENT BEEN TO MY HOUSE YET! 12:05 am I get a call that they're running late on another job (in the 14th largest city in the USA you only have one crew working Saturday nights?) - No I need someone tonight thanks for the call - 12:30 am and they have to reschedule for monday...... srsly? If you can't go 24/7 then don't schedule yourself 24/7. If you can't make a 4 hour window don't open a 4 hour window. The initial call to the call center was awesome but everything past that? My wife is going to be mad. Thanks guys!

I had a bad experience with them. When we signed up for Angie’s List, they actually recommended them and we had them come. The guy showed up. Our kitchen sink was leaking underneath so we wanted them to fix that. He said that he did not have the part on him so he needed to go out and get the part. He was gone for like an hour and he came back. He ended up breaking another part when he was trying to fix the other part. So, he goes out again for another hour. The sink parts works okay, but we cannot still use the sprayer because that still leaks. I was very dissatisfied. There was an additional charge over the $25 Big Deal cost. It was pretty costly. I think because he made two trips out and then, he said he did not have any places that were close by to get parts so that is why he was gone for so long. I just felt that he took advantage. It was just really a bad experience. I would not use Roto-Rooter again after dealing with this guy. This was supposed to be an easy fix.

The service was fine. I thought we made an appointment for another time to come back to do some camera work and they didn't show up. So then I called and they said, oh we are so sorry. We will get in touch with somebody and they'll call you to come out that day within an hour and I heard nothing. The original service was fine but the follow up was lacking. They didn't do bad, they just didn't show up. They were here on the 20th of May and they were scheduled to return on June 10th. I thought it was scheduled but it was apparently not. The guy that came out was very pleasant but the one that did the follow up...because there was still some issues...the second guy was really good. The first guy was not rude but... For the work that was done, I think quality was a B. When you don't show up that was a D.

The guy that came out was great. The service wasn't amazing but it was okay.

This is my second review of this incident. It is necessary because as I reported in my first review, although the plumber in this incident was excellent in every regard, I had a problem that developed as the result of not being able to provide the voucher I purchased at the beginning of the year in anticipation of needing to make this repair. All of the other members of the Roto Rooter team who I came in contact with, Todd Cousin (Artie's manager) and Regina (the customer service representative on the telephone were abominable; which I explained in painful detail in my first entry. Why then am I writing a second entry? Because in the course of doing business, sometimes bad things are going to happen; even the best businesses are going to have some unfortunate events which occur for any number of reasons and the measure of the business is not whether or not these things happen but what management does once they are aware of the situation to resolve the matter. This is subject of this second review. The original incident occurred late in the afternoon on a Friday. By the time the time things began to spiral out of control it was after business hours. I promise you I was fit to be tied Friday evening and I had prepared myself to have to sit and seethe for the entirety of the weekend until it could be dealt with on Monday morning. To my surprise, bright and early Saturday morning I received a call from the Customer Service Manager apologizing for the problem and promising to handle it as expeditiously as possible. A few hours later, I received a call from the Regional Manager who apologized for the problem offered me a satisfactory settlement of the problem and assurance that the people involved would be re-trained regarding the issues that came up during my service call. I received a third call Saturday afternoon just to confirm that all of my needs had been met and that the situation had been resolved to my satisfaction. Further, they wanted to ensure that I would give them another opportunity to service my needs and I will. As I said, bad things are going to happen sometimes and the question is what you do about it. They went above and beyond during off hours to make sure that my service needs were met and my ancillary issues resolved. In the end, Roto Rooter hit this one out of the park.

they were on time and the tech was good but the pricing was thru the roof. wanted 315 for each drain to be cleaned. Then he said the toilet had some calcium build up and would need to be cleaned. He said it would be better suited to just replace the whole toilet and said it would be another $750 for that. He also found a leaking shut off valve and offered to replace for free if I did all this work. I had to talk him down to 500 for the two drains, but he charged to replace the valve. We replaced the toilet the next day for $88 THANKS LOWES. This price was hard to take but it was a needed issue because I had renters moving in but other companies do this same work for $99 a drain and 299 for a toilet. Shop wisely

When they called to confirm I was home they said they were sending a tech and that they would be there within the hour. Approximately 10 minutes later they called back and said the tech was not on their way because the tech that was scheduled doesn't have the equipment to repair the leak. They apologized and said that they didn't have any availability until the next day in the evening. I am rather irritated about this because my gas was shut off and I needed someone to come out as soon as possible and I'm going to have to wait longer to have this leak repaired because of their disorganization.

Terribly. Unfortunately they missed a total of three appointments with no notice and consistently wanted additional time and rescheduling flexibility, despite us paying for the service in advance. Received a quote for $13,000 to have 60 feet of drainpipe relined. Despite their willingness to reduce this price based off of our inconvenience, including but not limited to the hundred dollars for the original changed camera fee, now that we are not willing to pay their price, they're now rescinding their offer of a refund. I have since quoted with another company to have drain pipe replaced for half the price. Despite issues with their scheduling team and lack of reliability in their arrival, they were not willing to either refund the camera fee ($99) or provide me with a video of that camera feed at no charge ($50). Do not use this company.

It was a complex problem. Sump pump was found to be working well, but the exit line was found to be frozen within 12' of the outside wall . Continued to buy roto routing services to clear line, but the effort was not successful. Months later after digging up exit line under backyard deck, I found that the roto routing disconnected the exit line pipes, which were NOT glued originally.... Suffice it to say, the discount went away and I paid hundreds for no result.

This group of professionals were on time, courteous, pleasant and highly skilled. They stuck to their timeline for initiating and finishing the repairs, didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need and overall helped me to make the best of a very bad situation!

Took a while to get service on the week end.. Job went OK , but kind of pricey.

I ordered that big deal to have them come out. The guy they sent out was very friendly. He was able to diagnose the problem very quickly. Once that was confirmed, he was able to clear out our main line up to the sewer. It didn't have a problem since. It was $100 for drain clearing and they gave me $25 off.

It didn't. First company I've used on Angie's list that is a big disappointment.

He fixed the problems, I wasn't there, I'm satisfied with the work but I didn't think it would cost so much more.

By the time they were done it was almost a thousand dollars. Well they came and got the plug out of the tub the first time and then I had the same problem a couple of days later so I called them out again and they had to clean out the drain of the whole drain line. I don't know why they couldn't determine that the first time around. I think the first one was like two hundred and some bucks and then the second one was almost like four hundred and then they came back again, my washer was not working and that was just a couple of days later as well. I think it was like $900 by the time it was done. I was unhappy that they had to come three times. I used them like 9 or 10 years ago. There was one technician that came out. They had uniforms but they didn't have the little booties. The price is way too high. I didn't want to have to pay them three times. It finally worked after, I'll give them a C for quality, it finally worked but it took them forever to do it. The responsiveness was good, they came each day, each time I called they showed up. It's too pricey and they should have been able to diagnose that the first time around.

Buyer Beware! I contracted Roto-Rooter to replace my collapsed sump pump line from the pump outlet to the street connection. I recived a quote and authorirzed work to start per the scope of work agreed upon which was 75' of line connecting to the street storm connection. They started on time, half of the way through they changed the scope of work to connect to a different outlet line which is only 15 feet from the house. They did not ask for autorization from me to change the scope of work. This cut their installation to 1/4 of the agrred upon work. If I had recieved an estimate on this reduced scope, it would have been over half what I paid, this I verified with another plumbing service. Once finished, they left 6" deep ruts in the yard (which was not repaired) and a 1/2 ton pile of clay soil (approx 4' high and 6' wide). I contacted them the following week asking for a credit back commensurate with the reduced scope of work. They effectively informed me this was not going to happen. I asked about the credit that was due back to me from the initial visit ($150), they informed me that that was not discussed, even when this information was on the original invoice. When I asked to speak to the supervisor that setup my work and saw the work progress, they stated "He no longer works here". I received a notice from my homeowners association about removal of the giant pile of mud from my yard, when I discussed this issue with the service person, they agreed to remove the dirt and then cancelled on the day they were to come out, never heard from them again. I had to hire a landscape company to remove the dirt and put in top soil, $300 more for this work. I gave my credit card information to the supervisor, for the down payment portion of the work. Rather than checking with me upon completion of the work to authorize the balance of the costs, they just went ahead and charged my card. This issue is fraud, since I did not sign for this additional charge. My conversation(s) with the sevice personnel in the office were demeaning and they really didn't really care if I was satisfied. Two messages left for the main manager went unanswered. I would advise future customers to be wary of this company. They will charge you ahead of time, cut corners to line their pockets and will not be interested in in any follow-up or customer service after the sale.

I had new countertop and sink just installed and had purchased a new disposal and faucet. Provider quoted for disposal, drain, and faucet installation, which I thought too high, so I accepted revised quote for disposal and drain plumbing installation only. I figured that I could do the faucet install myself. After he finished, as I did the faucet install, I noticed that the disposal electric conduit was not secured on one side and the drain from the disposal was leaking. When I had him come back, he claimed that I had disconnected and reconnected the drain plumbing. I demonstrated to him how (being a small guy and using the right tools) I had reached in and done the faucet install without disturbing drain plumbing. He insisted that I was lying and it became a big argument until my wife intervened. He finally redid the conduit and plumbing and realized that it had not been done right the first time.

After bailing out water for over 12 hours of sewer water and frustration dealing with our home warranty company, we finally called Rotor-Rooter. Dave came out and assessed the problem right away and sent a team to clean out our sewer lines. The next day, Dave called after hours to check up on us. When he heard we were still having problems with our washer/dryer line, he recommended, Val, one of their expert plumbers who came the next day and saved us over a $1,000 based on another plumbers estimate. In addition, we used the water restoration company. Adam lead this team. They came the very next day, began cleaning up the mess. Like Dave, Adam went the extra mile and called our insurance company several times to clarify an inaccurate claim in order to help us receive the most coverage. We cannot say enough good things about Dave, Val, and Adam. Because of the dedication, professionalism, sympathy, and overall caring attitude of all three, we are their biggest fans.
