Faerber's Bee Window Inc

Sales lady was very nice and gave me a good education. Quoted me $9K for 4 windows then I asked for siding. That came it at $30K without the windows and $32K with the windows which she said "it is like getting the windows for free". Well $9K was the quote she just gave me for 4 windows so I don't think there is anything in the $32K quote that is free. Then she said that the $32K was 50% off. Really, $64K to do a 1900 sq ft home where the bank only loaned me $127K for when I bought it 3 years ago. It was this quote that triggered 10 more quotes, seriously! I normally only do 3 quotes but these numbers were outrageous. The siding was not even top of the line however the fiberglass windows were indeed nice but not worth $9K for 3 small windows and 1 large window. I found another provider for less than 1/2 this quote which is more in line with my budget and the siding is top of the line Crane board in Regatta Blue and Pella double hung windows. Keep shopping!

On two previous occasions we have had major upgrades done by Bee Window, they were completed with high quality products and professionalism. Our satisfaction was so great with the prior service, we did not even consider getting a second estimate or taking a look at other vendors and products. A mistake which turned into a small nightmare. After the installation, we learned the salesman misrepresented one of the doors and both locks. The owner of the company offered to make adjustments to the door for an additional $500 which we declined because it still wouldn't have met the specifications the salesman sold us. A locksmith was provided to take care of the issue with the locks. Several installation dates were missed and some arrivals were late or a no show. The original installer refused to complete the install as agreed to with the salesman; he was unprofessional to the degree we asked he not return to our residence. The company had to come out to our residence on 5 separate days to complete the installation properly and make repairs. The install should only have taken 1 or 2 days to complete. During all of our calls to the company we were continually met with excuses by staff and the owner who refused to accept responsibility, provide an adequate apology or reasonable compensation for our many inconveniences. We strongly urge anyone who wishes to do business with Bee Window to not rely on the promise of the salesperson, but to repeatedly go over the contract with a fine tooth comb while the salesman is on location, getting written guarantees, including installation dates and times.

The representative we met with used very unethical sales tactics. He proceeded to tell us repeatedly that they were the only provider of Marvin Infinity windows in Indiana. Not true!!!!!!!! After he said it the 3rd time I told him it wasn't true and showed in a quote I had from another window installer. He told me that as soon as he left the meeting, he would "shut down" their ability to sell Marvin Infinity windows, because Bee has an "exclusive" contract for all of Indiana. That's pretty funny since Bee Windows is not listed on Marvin's website as a Authorized Installing Retailer, where the company I have a quote from is. They are listed when you uncheck that box. Yes, the sell the windows, but they are not even an authorized installer with Marvin. I arrived late to the meeting and he had already talked my wife in to changing out our casement windows in our bedrooms for double hung windows. I am nearly certain, without doing the measurements, calculations, and checking the local egress codes that the windows he would have installed would have left us up the creek when it was time to sell our house, as our new windows would not have been up to code. Not to mention they would have be unsafe, I have a 2 and a 4 year old in these rooms which would have been very difficult to escape in the case of a fire. He also told us Marvin Infinity only comes in replacement/inserts. Wrong again. They use the same sales tactic as Renewal by Anderson, which is giving you a huge discount of 25-30% that is only good for that day. Of course even their best price was almost $3,000 higher than the local quote I had.

The installers called me to set up an installation time and called again when they were on their way. As soon as they arrived, they hit the ground running. The installation took two days in the middle of winter and the house stayed much warmer than we expected. Old windows were removed and new ones installed very quickly. The trim work exceeded our expectations. One window pane was broken on delivery so the window was installed and a new sash was ordered immediately. Bee returned as soon as it came in to swap out the sash. James and Brad installed both the windows and an entry door and did an excellent job. We had previously used Bee window for a sliding glass door. The door is 10 years old and still looks new - and doesn't leak. We would definitely use Bee again.

It went very well. We were very pleased with them. One of the owners of the company called back Thursday evening to see how everything went. I was very pleased to hear for the owner. I would highly recommend them to other members.

After the initial visit - never heard from representative on suggestions for my front entrance. Apparently Faerbers' Bee has no interest in "custom" work. Likes to advertise to get the higher volume cost jobs

Bee was professional from the start and was willing to work within our budget to get the project done. We were especially pleased they were able to match the color of our original hardwood window casings with a faux-wood finish on the vinyl windows. Installation was prompt and the installers even stayed late in the very cold weather to get our windows installed in a single day, rather than leave the project unfinished overnight. We'd recommend Bee and would definitely use them again.

I would not use Bee Windows again for 3 reasons: 1. The sales people do not know the products they sell well enough. After I had paid and signed the contract, they informed me that one of my windows did not come in the size they had sold me. Since this window was right next to two other windows, I had to cut 5 inches off three of my windows and add some awkward trim work. They did give me a small refund for this, which I appreciate, but I would much rather have the additional window space that I was sold. 2. The $75 per window that they charge if they find lead is a gimmick. There is no justification for this cost considering the only additional safety measure they take is sealing windows off with plastic before they tear them out. It makes sense to do this anyway, especially in the winter months. If they required the workers to wear/use special equipment I would understand, but that is not the case. The owner justified the expense by hypothesizing that he might face legal challenges in the future associated with lead exposure, but this argument makes no sense to me since his workers are the ones who are primarily exposed, and they took zero precautions to protect themselves from the lead particles. 3. The primary reason that I will not be a returning customer is poor communication/customer service. After expressing my concerns to the owner in an email, he called me back immediately, which I thought was very professional. However, at the end of our conversation, he promised to call me back the next day to discuss the financial aspect of my gripe, but he never did. I emailed and called him several times afterwards, but did not hear back from him.

We had 2 windows done in May, 1 in June and 6 in December 2015. One storm door to go. Professional, punctional, left the job site better than they found it.

The crew did a terrific job rehabilitating rotted sills before installing the windows. They were patient and extremely professional -- real sticklers for detail and it showed in the finished product. The work is outstanding. We have not been able to use the windows they replaced for 2 years and it will be a real joy to have them open in the warmer weather once again. The crew covered the furniture with plastic sheeting in the area where the work was being done prior to starting and completely cleaned up after themselves once it was finished. We hope to replace a few more windows next year and will request this crew by name when we do!

Marvin replacement windows are very good. The installers are part of the company and they were very efficient and professional.

My wife and I had looked at Bee Windows at the Flower and Patio show in Indianapolis earlier this spring and here this fall were ready to make the investment of replacing the exterior doors and all of our windows at our home. We contacted Bee window because we liked the quality of the product that we saw at the show. We made an appointment and two representatives from Bee Window came out to our house for a consultation. The two representatives were Matt Kendo and Patrick Rinand. Patrick announced himself as a new employee and came with Matt to learn more about presenting. Everything went well during the presentation and up to the point of discussing price. After walking the inside and outside of our house measuring all of the windows, Matt allowed Patrick to price all of the windows. When that was complete, my wife and I thought it was odd that Matt did not offer to look over what Patrick had done since he was self admittedly a new employee. Up to this point Matt and Patrick shared the presentation and commentary. After Patrick had completed the pricing, Matt took a back seat and let Patrick took over. Patrick described the specials and discounts he was going to give us. After all of the discounts the final pricing came to a little over $18,000.00. There were several options that we asked to have him to break out such as the pricing the doors separate from the windows which he did. At that point Patrick asked what we wanted to do. My wife and I looked at one another and decided at that point we needed to talk more about what all of our options were and what we were going to do before just writing a check for that much money. After a few more questions we had we told both Matt and Patrick we needed to sleep on spending that much money and that we weren't going to just write a check for $18K that night. Patrick stated that this price was only good for that night and we could not get the same deal if we waited until the next day. With that understood my wife and I still needed to discuss such a large purchase without weighing all of our options. The next thing that happened was Patrick stood up from the chair he was sitting at our dining room table in our house, looked me in the eye and said, and I quote; "What is your flippin problem? You will never get a better price than I just gave you." He proceeded to ramble on telling us that George Faerber himself wouldn't give his best friend he goes duck hunting with a better deal than what he was giving us. After he finished his ranting, I was ready to throw them both out of my home. My wife put her hand on my arm as I started to stand. I didn't explode like I wanted to rather than that we let it end with us telling them we would just be in contact. In addition, at no time during Patricks strong arm sales technique did Matt offer an apology or ask to pull Patrick aside for his unacceptable sales techniques. The next day I called the Bee Window office. I asked to talk to Mr. Faerber. He not available to take my call and I left him a message telling him it was urgent that I talk to him about a very bad experience with our sales consultation. Two days went by and no returned phone call. I called once again and left another message. That was on Thursday November 5th and today is November 11th. I have still not received a phone call from Mr. Faerber. However, on this past Monday, November 9th I received a call from Patrick saying he hadn't had a chance to get back with me until then. I quickly dismissed his call telling him we had decided against their proposal. Although my wife and I believe that the Bee Window Fiberglass window is a quality window, a product is only as good as it's representation and service to their customers. We will not be purchasing Bee Windows due to our extremely negative experience with their sales representatives. After our experience and no returned phone calls from Bee Window, I did some research online to see if anyone else may have had a similar experience. I will not go into what I found but if you're thinking of using Bee I would strongly encourage you to research online beyond Angie's List. I really hate to write negative things about a company but in this instance Bee Window deserves the grades I gave them. Since Mr. Faerber chose to put his head in the sand and not address my concerns, maybe someone at Bee will read this review and pass that along. Since we still have a need for new windows. We have since had a presentation from Renewal By Anderson. We signed a contract with them on November 10 to replace all our windows and our rear patio door.

The windows came in early so installation was sooner than anticipated. Day of installation, installers were very professional and were very hard workers. They got all 14 windows installed one day! Two days after installation the homeowner got one window off track due to not tilting the window open properly. After calling the company, the installers were back out within a couple of hours the same day to correct the problem. AMAZING! The product is a dream to use when opening, tilting inside for cleaning, and reduced drafts in house. Can't wait to see the difference in our heating bills this winter.

It was good. Their offer was to give us the window at their cost plus the installation. It was a custom-made window. It would have cost in the neighborhood of $4000. Instead, we got it installed for around $2000. The job that they did was really good. The product they used was fabulous. The great window was fine. The work that they did and the product were the best they could be.

The installation crew was excellent. They did a fantastic job both taking out the old windows, putting in the new windows, taking away the old doors and putting in the new, they cleaned up after themselves and hauled everything away. I think their price is high. The only disappointment I have is there was a piece of trim work that goes with the side lights to the entry door that is light in color but the finish is dark and we asked to have that touched up. And we got one call from them about 3 months ago after many months saying that they'd gotten the right stuff from the factory and they'd give us a call in the next day or two to set that to schedule and they never have and that's been a long time now. So we've given up on them to do that. The professionalism mark is based on the crew that did the work but they've not followed up on a complaint that we had. Its their responsiveness I'm not happy with.

I obtained several quotes for replacement windows before deciding on Bee. They weren't the cheapest, but, they seemed to be the sturdiest. When seeking a quote I made an appointment for a sales rep to come to my home. I was e-mailed, called, and texted multiple times to confirm I would be there to keep the appointment. Wow. Sales pitch took 3 hours of my Saturday. Wish I'd been told to expect that before agreeing to the timing. Another employee came to confirm measurements and schedule install date. He was great. Day before install I was told the install date had to be changed. If they knew this in advance, and they HAD to have known this in advance as the windows weren't even delivered yet, I would have appreciated being told earlier before the date as it was a scramble to re-arrange my schedule to match theirs. Window installers are subcontracted by Bee. They were Awesome. Hard workers, very professional, Installers were the only reason I'm not giving Bee a lower overall rating. At install one screen was obviously the wrong size for the window unit. How it passed quality control is beyond me. Makes me wonder what else passed Quality Control. Installers promised they'd report the wrong screen and it would be replaced within two weeks. It's been almost 3 months. I've called Bee Customer Service multiple times, each time they act like they've never heard of me. When they finally remember a screen is due, "it will take 2 weeks". In frustration I called the owner, Pam Farber. She texted back that I'd have my screen within the week. That was a month ago. Remember how before my sales visit they called and texted and e-mailed me? They are capable of being in contact. All I can gather is that once they have their $, customer satisfaction is their last concern. My only issue is one tiny, simple screen. I dread ever needing something important from them. Bottom line, if you want these windows, and they seem to be decent windows, winter will tell me for sure, figure out who makes them (I think Unique Home Solutions uses the same manufacturer) and RUN as far away from Bee as you can. They fail when it comes to customer satisfaction.

The section in front of the garage is now clogged and leaking. I have been trying to reach them since June to resolve this issue. I have left messages and used their website for contact. I submitted the online chat and have called. The online chat said my info was being forwarded to the correct department and to contact Brittany. I have called Brittany and left messages. I have also spoken with a receptionist and was assured that someone will be getting back to me. They have not.

We purchased our home in June 2013 and 6 windows need to be replaced, we contacted many companies, but after some appointments, checking on Angie's list and referrals we decided to go with Faerber's Bee Window. From the time that the sales representative met with us to now, 2 years later we had an overall great experience. At our meeting the sales representative was very professional and knowledgeable, not pushy at all. What was great since we had some bad experiences with other companies we talked to. He was very friendly and to the point, and very respectful of our time. Once the windows were ready to be installed, the installers were very nice, knowledgeable and did an amazing job on making sure that everything was clean and in better shape than before. Unfortunately one of the big windows was damaged during shipping and they had to come back to install the final window at a later time. but we had no issues, since they called us ahead of time to let us know what had happened and another one had a glass defect and they replaced with no problems at all. (it is a huge picture window and that was a "wave" on the glass) A few months later, during the winter, we had an issue with frost inside the window. It was a very cold and snowy winter, very atypical for us. When I called and left them a message, one of the owners called me on a Saturday. I texted her the pictures and come to find out there was more to do with my house humidifier than the windows, it hasn't happened since. She was very courteous, friendly and professional. It has been over 2 years now, and the windows, look and work great! Great quality windows. I would recommend them to everyone. I know we had a couple issues, but every company will have that once in a while. What stood out to me, was their customer service, promptness and over all great customer service and willingness to help; even when the issue had nothing to do with the window.

Great, cannot imagine better service. All staff totally professional, the owner even called and went through a complete checklist when the work was done and before the men left to make sure everything was done to my satisfaction. She even had me go outdoors and check something I would never have thought about. Everything was perfect. The men were so careful in my home, and meticulous. They protect and clean up beautifully. And the windows are the best!

It went great. It was a fair price. They did a good job when they were supposed to.

A glass brake in shipping and they got it back and installed it and my living room looks a lot brighter. I would recommend them and I love them.

They were really good. We have actually already used them twice and we have been satisfied with the result. They are good. They finished up and cleaned up everything. They charged around $6,000 because they were two big windows, two small windows and a door. They are expensive. I would use them again in the future.

They have done a couple of different jobs for us. They came out in the spring of this year probably in January. They charged around $8,000 because we had new windows put in. They were efficient and knowledgeable. Their price was much reasonable for what we got. Their quality was excellent. I would use them again in the future.

The service did not go as well as I expected. The first guy who came out was fine and good in sales. The second guy who was pretty new in the company had to come out and measure and he gave me measurements. I ended up paying an extra $5,000 for windows because they were so expensive and they were only four windows. I called them and they said they messed up and they didn't even make the order. They sent someone else to re-measure because they didn't trust the first one since he was new so they have ordered for new ones which will be coming next week. My expression is that I got frustrated because I paid a lot of money and it got tied and wasn't good for me. It is very difficult to get a hold of them. They expect you to call if there's a problem. I finally got a number and they should have made an offer like get me a free window or knock a few bucks off, but I wouldn't make a big deal about that. We started dealing with them in June. They were very expensive. The service cost me $9,000 for four windows, and two of them are really huge windows. We have been dragging on for eight weeks, that is what I am most frustrated about. I am doubtful about using them again in the future.

We used them a while ago. The work was good, but there was one little problem. We had trouble reaching them. It was a little problem that got resolved, but we wanted to buy something and when we had a minor problem, we couldn't get a hold of anybody. I would use them again in the future.
