Perfectly! He reviewed what was on the inspection the DAY I called him, he was able to tell me what needed to be fixed and what did not (honesty is hard to come by). He was able to complete the job the very next day and write a detailed letter to my buyers explaining why the inspectors report was wrong and what actually needed to be done. He knew how important it was to have everything done in a timely manner in order to stay on track with our closing date and he made it happen.
Description of Work: We were selling an older home and something came back on the inspection for the roof. We needed to have it reviewed and possibly replaced. I contacted Andy through his company to see if this was something he could help with and in a hurry.

Andy was very helpful with the whole process of working with my insurance agency to have my roof replacement covered. After a roofer does the initial assessment of damage (in my case it was hail) the insurance company will send their own adjuster to assess the damage. In my case the insurance company suggested we replace the front portion of the house but not the back. "What ???" Through additional information provided by Andy regarding the age of the roof my claim was approved and my new roof looks great. I had also referred Commander Contracting to several of my neighbors. It was obvious Andy was upfront and honest by notifying several that they did not have enough damage to warrant the need for a new roof. I would absolutely recommend the trustworthy service of Commander Contracting

I cannot say enough about good things about Andy at Commander Contracting! I initially asked him to look at the roof of a rental property I recently started managing. I had no idea the condition of the roof. After looking at the roof he said, "you don't need anything done to this roof. It's in perfectly good shape. It's been replaced in the last 5 years i would guess." An honest guy!!! What a breath of fresh air! That was the first thing that I loved! I then immediately booked an appointment for him to look at my home roof.....we had been turned down by our insurance company for hail damage and to make a long story short.... we now have a new roof paid for by our insurance company, minus our deductible, because Andy knows how to work with the insurance companies. His work is outstanding, we love our new roof and he is a pleasure to work with... we need more people in the world like him. A++

I had the opportunity to work directly with the owner of Commander Contracting. Who could ask for more than to receive 5 star service from the owner himself? When I am choosing who will care for my 6 figure investment that protects my wife and children, I will simply choose nothing less than the best. I have experienced storm damage to my property multiple times and due to the investment we have made, we only partner with the REAL PROFESSIONALS. I have heard the best reviews from others from this organization and was not disappointed in any sort or fashion. From my experience insurance companies are not exactly looking to dump money to me to fix my home for ACTUAL damage at ACTUAL fair market value. I have experienced that Commander has worked in the back-ground in putting professional "pressure" on the insurance company to treat me right. If it was not for companies like Commander, the out of pocket expense would be astronomical compared to their experience in settling these claims. I am not disappointed and would make the same decision again. Love these guys!

Terrible! He gave us 3 estimates total: 1-he thought we were paying cash ($9193.33), 2- when he found out our insurance co approved ($14,899.33) and 3- when we questioned the increase/specific line items and asked for a refund on 11/9/16 ($9890.57) because it had been 2 months since we gave him our deposit that he cashed 9/30/16. When we questioned the specific line items he would never answer us directly. We do not have a roof because he could not agree with our insurance company. He has sent our insurance company and us nasty emails. We have requested a refund 8 times since November 9th. He has ignored our first 7 requests. Finally on 1/18/17 he responded saying that due to "unforeseen circumstances" he no longer has our money and can't repay us.

Response from Commander Contracting
To our potential future customers, This review is filled with false accusations and lies. I have been in the industry for almost 10 years and I have never once received a negative review or complaint against myself or any company I have been involved in as an owner. As you can see from the other reviews my customers are exceedingly happy with the customer service and quality work that I provide. [Member Name Removed] contacted me on Facebook on 8/20/16 at 5:06 p.m. about a roof leak in their son's bedroom that had set of an alarm. I live in their neighborhood and live just down the street from them so I was able to complete the temporary repairs, storm damage inspection and provide pictures of the damage the same day by 8:18 p.m. The following day [Member Name Removed] requested an estimate for the repairs and it was explained to her, in writing, that we do not provided estimates for insurance claim related jobs prior to a claim contract being signed. After answering all of her questions [Member Name Removed] informed me via text message on 8/22/16 that they have decided to go with me and that they would have the contract signed ready for me to pick up the next day. The contract to complete the repairs for the insurance proceeds was received on 8/23/16. The initial estimate was provided per the request of the insurance company on 8/26/16, after the contract had been signed. It was made clear to the [Member Name Removed] that it was a preliminary estimate being done based on satellite imaging software, as are all of our initial estimates, and that it would be likely to change. Because it is a very time consuming process, measurements and roof components are not verified on site for accuracy until after approval of the roof replacement. I took shingle samples to their home and a color was selected and signed off on On 9/12/16. The insurance check included their mortgage company so it had to be sent off to be endorsed. I did not receive the deposit check until 9/30/16. I informed them at that time that it would be 2-4 weeks before we could start the installation. I also informed them that there were items/repairs missing from the insurance companies scope of loss that are required by the City of Fishers so a supplement for those items would need to be submitted and that I may need their assistance in getting it approved. On 10/17/16 I contacted [Member Name Removed] to let her know we were ready to start the install the following week. On 10/20/16 I was asked by [Member Name Removed] to take the installation off of the schedule until the supplement has been approved. I reassured him at that time that it was not necessary and that it is common for the supplement to get approved after the completion of the work. He was also made aware that it may take quite some time to get approval up front because they often don't pay for code related repairs and permits until they have been incurred(completed). Insurance companies are notoriously slow in responding to supplement requests so absolutely no promises were made as to when an approval and subsequent repairs would occur. It was also made clear that his assistance may be needed in speeding up the process, if he were to insist on it being approved up front and getting the roof installed before the winter. [Member Name Removed] was also aware that I would be heading to northern Indiana to finish a very large project the following week and would not be able to do the install for at least another 2-3 weeks or possibly the spring if it was delayed because roofing season typically ends around Thanksgiving. 11/29/16 After ongoing discussion regarding the claim, I again offered to complete the repairs and was again denied the opportunity to do so. They had concerns about having their roof installed due to the cold weather. 1/19/17 I again offered to complete the repairs as soon as the weather allows me to do so. At no time have the [Member Name Removed] explicitly agreed to any proposed course of action to resolve the issues at hand and at no time were they told they would not be refunded their deposit. I have indicated to them, in writing, on multiple occasions that I can complete the repairs or they can provide me with a written notice of cancellation and they will be refunded per the terms of the contract. At the time of this writing, I have not been given approval to the complete the repairs, nor, have I been provided with a written notice of cancellation. We have put well over 20 hours into working with them and their insurance company to resolve their insurance claim at this point and complied with all of the terms of the contract that the [Member Name Removed] have signed and agreed to. I hope to have this situation resolved and this false review removed in the coming weeks. Thank you for you understanding and I pray that you can see through this review and allow us the opportunity to earn your business. Please feel free to contact me directly at 317.727.4996 if you have any questions. Sincerely, Andy Craney

Andy is hardworking, trustworthy and professional. I could not be happier with the result. Not only was the roofing work excellent, but Andy kept me informed of the payment process with the insurance company and worked very well with the insurer to ensure a smooth and painless experience. He even arranged for his roofing crew to get the job done while we were on vacation, so as to minimize the disruption. I have recommended him to others, and he as since put new roofs on other homes in our neighborhood and they too are happy with the work. There are many fly-by-night operators in this business, and you have to be careful to avoid them, but Andy is the real deal.
Description of Work: Commander Contracting worked with the insurance company to have the roof inspected and then installed a replacement roof after the insurance inspector confirmed that a new roof was needed due to hail damage.
After spring storms we noticed shingles missing and a few on our lawn. We procrastinated for a couple of weeks and the doorbell rang, Andy Craney- Commander Contracting was at our door. We decided to hear him out and were so quickly impressed with his personable manner and his credible understanding of what needed to be done including the claim-adjuster procedure required. Andy used the latest tools to help show us our roof from above and also the program he uses to measure roof surfaces to the inch. Equally impressive was his connection to the supplier of just the right shingle we wanted and also to a crew that was known to install that roofing material. Andy Craney's soft touch with the financial items and personable style getting to know our family's whereabouts for scheduling the work were tremendously valuable. Andy was on site off and on most days and his understanding of the crew work helped the crew leader position resources for time and weather delays. At one point Andy didn't like the pattern and went back up on the roof with a crew member to reposition the shingles himself. Because there was minor damage to bedroom ceilings from rainwater before the repair Andy arranged for a painter he uses to repair and paint the ceilings of 4 bedrooms. The storm and hail damage required that our gutters and downspouts be replaced and Andy handled all of that including the claim and money for it with our Insurance company and our bank- with our approval of course. We couldn't be happier that Andy rang the doorbell that day and the result of following his guidance and direction.
Description of Work: Replace Roof on residence damaged by storms. Replace gutters and downspouts. Repair drywall and paint bedroom ceilings damaged by same spring storms.

Andy knocked on our door and asked if he could inspect our roof. After inspecting the roof and noticing enough hail damage to warrant a claim he asked if we would be interested in contacting our insurance company. He said he would meet the insurance adjuster at our home and make our case. All he asked for in return was that we use him to install the new roof. Andy was up-front and showed us that his contract was void if the claim wasn't accepted or issued for the full amount of the replacement cost. Andy showed up reasonably soon after we gave him the initial deposit and completed the work in two days. He returned after the work was complete to sweep for nails. He returned a second time to sweep for nails and left his magnetic sweeper with us for a period of time to give us peace of mind that are little ones wouldn't accidentally find a roofing nail with their feet. We would recommend Andy to our family, friends, neighbors and anyone in general looking for a roofing contractor.
