Description of Work: Poor work. Tile laid not level. Trim work had large gaps and nails sticking out. Caulking sloppy. Paid half and they demanded payment before completion. Used our tools. Arrived late. Refinished floors 2x and still not satisfactory. Changed name from S&S Elite to now Sands... DO NOT USE!!!!

Description of Work: Removed and put away for storage our two small window air conditioners. Took the storm windows from the garage and replaced them. Found a solution for not being able to use the bathroom sink and will bring a part by at a later date for an even better solution. Same on toilet tank. Fixed the handles on two interior doors. S & S returned on Sunday December 21 with the parts and completed the jobs. I had not been available until then. While here, they also took a list of small jobs I have been wanting done but had no Handyman. I told them I'm in no hurry.

Description of Work: Removed and closed in an unwanted door in an exterior wall, patched siding on exterior, and hung sheetrock on interior wall, install electrical outlet in opening. | |This was almost impossible to get scheduled, the contact person kept putting me off. When he did finally show up to look at the project, it was just a cursory glance, he did not take any notes or measurements and did not provide me with a written estimate. | |When the two men showed up to do the work they pulled out the door and frame and then discovered that they did not have the correct materials needed to do the job. They asked me if I would go get additional materials. I was uncomfortable leaving two strangers in my house alone with an opening in the back wall and refused. They called their boss and he told them to go into Evansville (from Mt. Vernon, 15 miles) to get the correct concrete blocks. They returned 4 hours later with the correct size blocks for the job and installed them. Then they started on the framing and discovered they needed 2x6 lumber but only had 2x4 on the trailer so they framed it in with that and hung the exterior siding. | |By this time, it was late in the afternoon and they said that they would return the next day to complete the electrical work and hang the drywall. |Since it had been framed in with incorrect lumber they rigged up some shimming to make the drywall the same depth as the wall this was to match. | |It DID NOT match had to be removed by another contractor and re-installed. When the drywall was removed it was apparent that the masonry work was poorly done because you could see daylight through several points in the mortar which then had to be patched and sealed. | |I will NEVER use this company again. What should have been a one day job took two days to complete, was poorly done and cost twice what I was verbally quoted. Then I had to have someone else to come in to fix it.

Description of Work: Eric put a laminate floor down in a hallway. He did a great job. We are very pleased.

Description of Work: Repaired door lock, bathroom fan, and painted bathroom. Initial contact was not positive by employee, but company made it good and were fair in dealings.

Description of Work: Repaired storm damage to garage: replaced roof, some damaged decking, trim & soffit; removed 4 porch posts & installed 2 new posts, replaced soffit & trim; removed and replaced carpet on front porch & steps; installed chimney cap; replaced door threshold; fixed gutters where they had pulled away from house. Their work was flawless, and they were quite patient in explaining everything to me. Their attitude was great and it was a pleasure to work with them. Thanks, Eric & Cory!
