Hagan Appliance Service provides in home residential appliance repair. We are family owned & operated since the 1950's. We have 4 employee. We are factory certified by most major brands and are contracted by multiple warranty companies. Payment is collected upon completion of the call. A home call is charged to the consumer to get our tech to their home. Once in the home, labor starts on a time basis. $60. per hour, but prorated on the time the tech is there. Of course, part price and taxes would be added for the job. We provide service for Evansville IN and the surrounding areas. Additional DBA - Hagan Appliance SVC & Parts.

I'm writing this review with the hopes that this company will improve. I would not recommend doing business with them at this time. I had a service call for a dishwasher repair between 8AM and 12PM. At 10:30AM, the repairman rang my phone and left a message to call the office back. I didn't hear the phone and thus called back at 11:06AM. I left a message and repeatedly called back until I got a hold of someone at 11:30AM. I was told that because I missed the call, the repairman assumed that I wasn't home and went onto other calls - and I would then have to wait until the 12PM-4PM window. Because I couldn't wait, I pressed the person on the phone as to why they have such a procedure since I was not told that I needed to answer my phone prior to the call, nor did the repairman say anything on his message indicating this. It was just "call the office." The person on the phone basically said this was my fault. He said "we've been in business for 62 years" this is how we do it. He said their policy is that if the customer does not answer the call, they assume they are not home and move on because they have so many calls to do. It's not my company, but I would think that the repairman should leave a message saying that you are next and "I'll be on my way in approximately.....depending on how long my current job...." At least that's how every other service (cable, HVAC, plumber) I've used operates. Furthermore, customer service 101 should state arrive at the customer's home and ring a doorbell before deciding to move on since customers plan their days around such calls. The company may reply to this posting with their side. Know that whatever they say, what I wrote is how I experienced my dealings with this company. They may know how to repair appliances, but their customer service and overall attitude is abysmal. They likely can stay in business because they don't have many competitors and appliances frequently break, so they can afford to not care about their customers because they can turn a profit on volume. Again, if you choose to do business with them, know in advance what you're getting into. I hope that changes and they improve their customer service because I'd hate to see a company in business for 62 years go under.

Description of Work: My washer was not fixed the first time but they have came back and ordered new parts just taking nearly 2 weeks to have them back out to actually perform the actual repair.

Hagan was recommended by Bosch to repair our dishwasher. The serviceman came out and told us parts were not available for our model, and charged us $70 for a service call. He didn't spend 15 minutes in our home. Kirby's has ordered the parts which were available on the Bosch website on line. Won't call Hagan again.

The amount in the review is inaccurate. Also, if a problem isn't fixed then the customer should call and advise that the problem isn't fixed. The customer didn't call in a timely manner. She contacted us after months. This review was added almost 16 months after Hagans had been to the house.

Description of Work: The gas valve was replaced on 2008 whirlpool gas dryer. Service call was scheduled for 08/12/14 and repairman called prior to visit. Gas dryer was working but only cool air came out. Repairman diagnosed that gas valve needed replacement. He stated it would take about 10 days for new part to be ordered. Called for status on 08/22/14 and was told part was on back order and was expected to come in by Monday, 08/25/14. Service call was scheduled for Wednesday, 08/27/14. Repairman called first and arrived at scheduled time. He replaced the part and completed it the job satisfactorily in an hour. He was efficient and professional.

They were very professional and informative. They reviewed all options in weighing a repair versus a new refrigerator. They were very prompt with both the initial assessment and the repair date. The final cost came in less than the estimate. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

He was very nice and explained in clear detail what the problem was with the washer. He gave me my options and did not try to talk me into a $450 charge on a old washer. I appreciated his honesty. This is a family business and it seems to operate with the good values with which his father started the business. I could not have been more satisfied.

Arrived on time, removed a tab from pump and charged for his labor in addition to the $69 service call.
Description of Work: Called to service washing machine. Was completed within 15 minutes, but still charged for labor in addition to the service call. Ask lots of questions before you authorize service!

Labor is charged at $60. per hour, but prorated upon the time that the tech is there. 15 minutes should have been $15. in labor. if it was more we would like to hear from the customer.

The service was fat and accurate. The price was less than I have paid a previous repair service.
Description of Work: My 12 year old Kitchen Aid clothes dryer had stopped heating even though it tumbled and ran. I was able to get service the same day that I called. The problem was identified and the part replaced in about 20 minutes. He even took the time to pet our dogs!

They came out twice to look at our dishwasher (November 2011 and February 2012), provided bad advice and never fixed the problem. After five months of continuing grit on our dishes, I called another Company (Mayer) who immediately determined the problem and fixed our dishwasher at a much cheaper price. Kevin Mayer immediately fixed the problem because he knew what he was doing and he took the time to diagnose. I politely called Hagan's and requested a refund and they said they could not, that too much time had passed and that they had qualified technicians. I explained to him that our dishwasher was never fixed and it did not matter to them. Be very careful with this Company.

They were there when they said they were going to be there. They charged what they said they were going to charge. He knew immediately what the problem was. He was very professional. This was the first time I used them and I would definitely use them again.

They were good and I just liked everything. The guy was nice, told me what was wrong with the washing machine. He fixed it; he didn't charge me an arm and a leg. They were just very good and I hope that they are still in business, sometimes you don't know about the economy, I sure would use them in sure and I'm always with them.

Repairman was arrogant from the beginning to end.....offered to come back and check the problem again but would have been another service change. In no way would I ever have him back for any kind of service.
Description of Work: I called for repair service on my refrig. Owner of business diagnosed bad compressor when he learned that it was still in warranty. I paid for installation and service call. Within 6 months my refrig had the same problem, now he says needs new lines as must have had a leak which should have been checked at the time of first repair...another costly repair which I refused. I'm convinced this repairman was taking advantage of the warranty and did not check for real problem from the beginning. I have since learned of friends who have had problems with this same business, The dates may not be exact but if needed I can provide exact date. Needless to say I replaced a less than 10 yr old Amana refrig as the repair bill would have been double since I had previously paid for a problem that probably was not necessary.
