It is hard to express how much I regret using Belmont. All of the horror stories are true. The booking process was seamless. They were responsive, gave me a great quote, and made me feel like I would be taken care of. This couldn't have been further from the truth. When the movers got there they claimed that the cubic footage of my belongings was nearly double what I'd been quoted. Of course, this is possible since the "binding estimate" provided by Belmont is binding on the COST PER CUBIC FOOT, NOT the volume. They do not stand by their volume estimate at all. Further, they matched me with a company who has an "F" rating with the better business bureau. This company, Moving Forward Express, arrived a day late, attempted to enforce terms that differed from those provided by Belmont, and failed to provide me with a legible contract, inventory, or bill of lading during the month they had my belongings (after being told it would typically come in 10-14 days). Throughout this, Belmont was extremely difficult to reach and noted there was nothing they could do without the bill of lading. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY or frankly any company whose estimate isn't truly binding. It will always be too good to be true.

They take zero responsibility for your goods, have no obligation to actually deliver your goods and simply say - talk to the other company - a company you have no choice in using. They have poor customer service and have done nothing after 5 months to ensure delivery of our missing items claiming they are lost, loaded on a truck. I have extensive documentation to back up this claim. I was lied to and oversold. We were charged for 4300 cubic feet of space but delivered much less. When I tried to work with the Customer Service to ask questions, I had nothing but problems. When I asked about insurance I was told it cost 60 cents per pound to purchase and that it was too late anyway because I had already signed the contract. The original driver refused to properly itemize our belongings. He had a list of numbers that were put on boxes which were labelled so vaguely you could not ever identify exactly what was in the box that was missing. Since this is required by the CSI insurance company, the trucking company made it impossible to use the process they provided in the contract. My goods were sent to New Jersey, I was told that storage would be $2200 per month based on the volume. (Again, the volume was wrong, so I was overcharged). When we called a month in advance to arrange delivery, we were told that the goods could be delivered only within a 14-day window because other deliveries were added to the same truck. When we explained that we have a full truck paid for and no one else would fit on the same truck so that would not be an issue she insisted that she could not reply to this. Asking for a supervisor I was told that none were available and that we would have to get a call back. The next day the same girl called back and told me she talked to the supervisor and that we were VIP customers and because we called a month in advance the goods would be delivered on time. We called the week before the move to find out that she had made this all up. The young woman who discussed this with us again refused to let us speak to a supervisor as he was on "vacation" Over the course of 6 days this woman said she would call back and then didn't. We argued this with the girl at "Moving Company" insisting that there must be some things of ours left behind that there is no way they could have everything. They insisted that we would have to take care of that when It arrived. The truck arrived¾ full and as above the move was not pleasant. Boxes missing, broken, furniture damaged and many had boxes had been opened or even repacked. One box had only an ice bucket in it and was not sealed or wrapped. Uncooperative driver, furniture not checked over or put together. At one point the driver wanted to put pieces of furniture in the garage because they were too difficult to move into the basement. He argued with me about this. We kept a detailed list of all items, and each box was clearly labelled and itemized. Using my list I know exactly what is missing. There is approximately $30,000 worth of goods belonging.

I will never work with a broker again and Belmont is the reason why. At first, they seemed great. The first person I contacted to set up my binding contract for the move was terrific in explaining everything. Everything went downhill from there, however. The QA person who spoke with me the week of my move was calling the wrong number. The movers they brokered with, Gin & Lou, were late arriving because they were calling a different wrong number. They charged me more upon arrival, despite the contract. They quoted me 6-21 days after picking up my things, which was not what Belmont told me. In fact, they were a month late in delivering. They picked up my things in Colorado on 5/27/2022 and I never received them until 7/1/2022 - and this only after I had contacted the Better Business Bureau and a lawyer. No one from Belmont ever took my calls once my things were picked up, and Gin & Lou never returned them either. Horrible service. I will say, the actual laborers were great. All of my stuff arrived, and none of it was broken. Two terrible companies, however. I have definitely learned my lesson, the hard way.

You have the wrong company. I am based out of Evansville, IN The company you are referring to is based out of Florida, has only been in business a few month, has been using the same name as my company and causing a lot of financial heartache for a lot of people. I am very sorry for what you have had to deal with. I have sought legal help on my end to try and stop them from continuing their bad business practices, especially using the same name as my company, but I am not affiliated with them in any way, shape or form. Angies list needs to do more verifying.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. They will give you a good bid, you pay the deposit and when the subcontracted company comes to pick up your items, the load now is bigger than the estimate they gave you. ALOT HIGHER!!! I have so many complaints. COMMUNICTION. My move was scheduled to be picked up on the 15th. No one showed up, when I called they told me it was scheduled for the 16th. I have to take ANOTHER day off work now. On the 16th another no show. This was a Friday so the man actually driving the truck contacted me and told me he could not pick my items up until Monday. Guess what happened on Monday. NO SHOW. So when they finally showed up, that is when they hit you with the extra charges. I had no choice but to pay. The deposit had already been put down. I was told I would have my items as soon as possible because of the delay. Well the day came and passed. I called a week later because I wanted to see just how long it would take them to get in touch with me. Now I am told another week. I was also told by Kristian to email my complaint and they would work on some type of compensation. You see I moved this exact same load last year. It has not been touched. It went straight into storage. I used Mission Moving. The cost was half the same distance. Many of my boxes were crushed. Items broken. Just a bad experience all the way around.

Same as above.....You are referring to the moving broker out of Florida, not my moving company out of Evansville, IN. Legit Moving companies NEVER ask for a deposit. I am in the process of helping several other people that has used this Florida based Broker actually try and locate their furniture as it has never shown up in over 3 weeks. Do not used this Florida based moving BROKER. And please do not confuse them with my company based out of Evansville, IN, as I have absolutely nothing to do with them what so ever. Angies list certainly did not verify this before allowing it to be posted.

On May 25, 2016, Belmont moved my household goods. Though I was assured at the time I booked the move that a large truck would be sent, the truck that arrived was unable to get all my goods onboard, so the crew had to make 2 trips. Though I was not happy, this did not cause a considerable problem, due to the fact that the old and new addresses were only 2 miles apart. The crew moved us in 7-1/2 hours, for a total of $1162.50. I recently contracted with Belmont to move my household goods again. At the time I booked the move on the calendar, I told them that I would need a large truck, because during the previous move, the crew had to make 2 trips. I was assured that the truck would hold all my goods. On July 10, 2017, the crew arrived in the same size truck that was too small a year ago. I told the driver that the truck was not big enough and, after he surveyed our goods, he told me that he “guaranteed that he would get it all on the truck”. Loading was begun at about 9:30AM. At 3PM, the driver informed me that they would NOT be able to get all of our goods onboard. I called Andrea at Belmont, and complained that the crew was not going to fulfill the agreement to move all my goods as requested, due to the truck being too small. Andrea informed me that, because they could not get a tractor/trailer into my driveway at the new address, they sent the largest straight truck that they had. I had not been informed why they could not send a larger truck until after loading had been going on for more than 5 hours!! I was offered the option of having the same crew return the next day to finish, with me paying for their time & travel. I declined. After the truck was completely full (leaving another 1/3 truckfull behind), the crew drove to my new address and began unloading. I was charged from 8:30AM until 9:00PM, with total charges of $1875. I have the SAME items from a year ago ! I have called and talked to Andrea on 2 occasions since the latest move. She wanted to talk to the crew and said she would call me back right away. After waiting 2 days, I called her back on July 19. Of course, the crew claimed that they packed the truck “tight” to get as much on as possible, which led to addition hours being charged. Andrea also stated that the items moved this time differed from the previous move. I challenged that premise because the same size truck was sent… what they put in it doesn’t matter. I asked to speak to Andrea’s supervisor, which she agreed to. She informed me that her supervisor was in the warehouse and unable to speak me, but would call me back at the earliest opportunity. As of the date of this letter, I have still not heard from either Andrea or her supervisor. I have been a good customer for Belmont, having used your services several times for local moves. However, I have several issues to bring up to you. 1). I feel I was charged an outlandish amount for this latest move. 2). The crew was extremely slow, with at least one of the crew-members being useless. “Packing tight” is a poor excuse for the additional 5 hours this move took. 3). I paid for 4 men and a truck at $150/hour. I believe that I got the equivalent of 2-1/2 men. 4). Belmont has a SEVERE communications problem. Not letting customers know that the equipment you’re sending will not do what was contracted, is inexcusable. When promised a return call, your employees should fulfill that promise. 5). While we were outside during the unloading process, one member of the moving crew opened our refrigerator, helped himself to a soda, and hid the empty can in our bathroom cabinet. Had he asked, we would have happily provided him with a drink. In fact, I had made a special trip to a convenience store and purchased cold drinks for the entire crew during loading. Due to the unprofessionalism of the office staff and crew, the exorbitant charges to me, and the unwillingness to sincerely handle my complaints, I have no choice but to post a negative review.

Sorry you feel this way, but as the crew mentioned, these items need to be packed if you wished for us to move them. We can't place loose glass/ unpacked items on the truck. Yes, it did go a bit more, because you did not want us to come to your home and perform a free survey and we quoted you over the phone based on the items you said that would be going. Once we arrived, there was much more, which we were happy to move for you.

Movers showed up on time and were extremely courteous. They were extremely careful in moving all items and there were some big, bulky items that had to come down a complex stairway. On occasion, we had pets in the way and they were friendly and understanding...and kind to the pets. The particular group was out of Owensboro. They absolutely made moving day a positive experience.

The company was able to get us in quickly with such a short notice. The guy that came to give us an estimate was wonderful, but the actual movers were not so great. They were only at our house 40 minutes before taking a smoke break. We only had 12 hours to get out of our old house and get it cleaned so were aggravated. Also, the two movers were slow. One guy would be smoking, while the other guy unloaded one box. They would take turns so that it was one person working at a time and only unloading one box each time. They did get the job done, however.
