This has been a horrible experience. This office is dishonest, they did not take the time to access my needs. They have lied to me, and they are not honoring their contract guarantee of satisfation with new systems. It is all explained above.
Description of Work: This ADT office is dishonest. The salesman came out and talked me into signing contract #1, then he was going to school and had a better solution so we met again and had me sign contract #2. Then he realized he was confused and did not know the different systems and was completely confused. Next he had me sign contract #3. Each time it was totally different equipment and configurations. He clearly did not know what he was doing! He was fired. He also did NOT understand my needs or take the time to figure out what I really needed and wanted. But by the time I had signed contract #3, my head was spinning with confusion. And if the salesmen was confused, it is no wonder "me' as the customer might be confused? You bet. I was totally confused no question. I had only wanted to add more features. My prior ADT alarm I bought in 2005 was working just fine without problems. I called them because I wanted more features , not the same or less.features. Finally out of confusion I cancelled all 3 contracts, I had no idea what they were all talking about! Neither did they. They sent my refund check right away SO I thought they were going away. Next the installer showed up at my door. He would not leave my home or take NO for an answer. He pressured me into accepting contract #1 and acted like he was doing me a great big favor. Well, ends up, they (this local ADT office) after 3 service calls now since that time to my home, they tell me it was installed all wrong! They have already been here 3 times now. They came back and installed a transmitter in a closet. That was supposed to fix it all. First I was told battery problem; the seals were not removed by original installer. Next time it was the devices were too far from the panels, or my home was too large for this unit? Next visit it was I needed this transmitter in my closet. NOW? They have decided they installed them all wrong and want to come back and make more holes in my home - in 6 different rooms. And NOW call ME UNREASONABLE??? So their next plan as explained by their install manager in Louisville is to submit an 'insurance claim' on their end for doing it wrong. They want to return the 4th time now and make MORE holes in my home in 6 rooms. Even "I" can read the directions. It states the devices Should have been installed a minimum of 6.5 feet off the floor. They are installed down near the floor! ALL SIX OF THEM. Also, it states the particular window to use; they are ALL on the wrong walls and the wrong windows were selected. This has been very frustrating, time-consuming to say the least and now I have a $1,700 system that does not work. I am committed to a BRAND SPANKING NEW 3-YEAR CONTRACT AND CAN'T GET OUT OF THAT NOW W/O PAYING 75% OF THE 3 YEARS MONTHLY CHARGES OF $45/MONTH. If I hire a lawyer to fight them, I am required to pay for THEIR LEGAL FEES so seems I am stuck. I have even called their President's office in Boca Raton, Florida. They are telling me now that "I" am acting UNREASONABLE The replacement salesmen of the one they fired, lectured me for 'not acting nicely on the day of installation". Ya think? I had requested a refund/cancellation and they showed up to install anyway. Then after all of that, I had to spend $165 just to buy a panic button to have beside my bed. My old system had this component so with all the money, they didn't bother to sell me similar features I was told I could add cameras to this unit and that is not true. I was told a lot of things that are just not true. You cannot get out of their contract once you sign EVEN WHEN THERE ARE SERVICE PROBLEMS ON NEW SYSTEM. They sell you on the idea they have a 6-month satisfaction clause, and this is a big-fat-joke! They give you a fancy gold guarantee page saying all that but the bottom line is that YOU ARE STUCK WITH THEM EVEN IF THE NEW SYSTEM DOES NOT WORK GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! They are not honest in this office, they don't know the product-line and they won't honor their guarantees.
