For a very reasonable price compared to other bids, Doug did an excellent job of first, assessing the current conditions and making recommendations along with his cost estimate. He solved a long standing attic access issue (through a small opening in the top of the linen closet) by creating a new outside gable vent opening. This made the work go faster and cleaner as well as making for a much better attic air boundary once the old access was sealed. His air infiltration test showed that all the sealing work around where wires and vents penetrate the attic caused a 50% reduction in air infiltration. Above 5% is considered helpful in lowering utility bills - so 50% is amazing. He did a full house air infiltration survey finding a number of spots we can work on unrelated to the attic project. When an owner installation of a new bathroom vent fan ran into problems, he stepped in and helped get the job done so the project could continue. Already the A/C system seems to run less during these 80 plus degree days in July and August.

The company was punctual and completed the job within the expected time frame. They had to work late to complete the tasks on time. The company was not the least expensive of those I contacted for estimates. The workers were well versed on the job and did good work. The company contractor was personable and informtive. I rate the company as I have only because there was some damage to a ceiling during the operation (cracks) that was done by a worker on an early work crew and I believe should have been repaired by the contractor. Repair was not offered, but they did install some scabs to provide support for my eventual repair. The people actually installing the insulation did an excellent job. Dust was minimized and the insulation was evenly applied. Problems were identified with the attic ventilation system during the preparation for insulating and they were brought to my attention and repaired before proceeding. I believe some would have ignored the problems, but these fellows did the right thing. The general contractor did provide excellent support and flexibility to speed reapirs and complete the main job. Based on my recent experiences with a number of contractors, I rate the overall experience with this company as a B+.
