I almost never write reviews, but the service that I have received from Shekinah Electric (MICS) has been extraordinary. I just finished renovating a home in Elkhart and ran into multiple major electrical issues. Once I started opening up the walls in this 30 year-old home, I found all sorts of problems and code violations resulting from years of DIY'ers... It was a complete mess. I originally found them on Angie's List. I was on a tight timeline (as all renos are) and they set up the appointment quickly. Adam showed up bright and early the next morning and got right to work. I had him rewire the kitchen which included adding new lights to an existing circuit, running a new circuit, and putting in new outlets. There were also all sorts of appliances and outlets not working in the house. Adam had a great attitude the entire time. He quickly went about knocking out one problem after the next. As he dug deeper into the issues we started to uncover all sorts of things that needed to be updated and fixed. To be clear, this was not him running up the price, it was him clearly explaining to me why things weren't working as I requested and what it takes to fix them. It was awesome. The job took much longer than expected and instead of leaving us high and dry or coming back another day, he had his colleagues cover his other appointments and spent the entire day making sure the job was done right. By the time he left he had turned a house that was an electrical disaster into a completely updated, fully functioning renovation. To top it all off, when he sat down to write out the bill it was incredibly reasonable for the amount of work done. I was quoted the same amount for less than half the work from other places. Great service, cool people, reasonable prices! I have used several electricians and other contractors in Elkhart and working with Adam from Shekinah was the best experience I have had. If you are looking for an electrician in the Michiana area, do yourself a favor and use these guys. You will not regret it.

He checked all possible internal house Problems, re-verified that it was not a internal problem. Checked the incoming line into house and Meter inlet. Saw no Problem. Indicated that it looked like a AEP outside Neutral Line Problem, and said to call to have them check out and let them know it was a surge problem. I did that, and indeed that was the problem which they fixed.

Everything was done professional. Work was done quick and they cleaned up. Price as quoted.

I had a 5 bulb kitchen light that stopped working. I replaced the on/off wall switch, but that didn't fix it. Made an appointment for a Monday afternoon and took a half day off work to have them look at it. 10 minutes past the appointment time, I called them and they had forgotten about the appointment and didn't have anyone available to come out. Eventually the owner (I think) said he would come out and look at it. Within the hour he arrived and was able to find the problem and fix it. I'd recommend them, but make sure they have your appointment set when you make it. This could have been much worse. but turned out ok.

Simple fixture replacement that homeowner not comfortable attempting himself. We had had more complicated work done by Shekinah in the past that has also been done in a professional manner.

As new customers to this referred (to us) company, we had found electric connections had been tampered with (possibly animal-chewing), as well as on areas on timer computer board--electrician repaired these areas and helped us determine which areas of irrigation system might be also affected ( though irrigation system not his specific area of expertise). He was very helpful to explain how electrical connections work on this system and how to better maintain. He was most professional and stayed with the project until completely satisfactory.
