Priced Rite Tree Service

WARNING! Do not hire this business. Priced Rite Tree Service Griffith/Gary, IN [*** Link removed ***] I’d like to share my experience with this business. I contracted them to remove 15 small trees (3” diameter at the most) from my backyard, so I could have a new fence installed. On 8/29/20, they promptly came out and quoted me $3,600 to do the job. I hired them, gave them $850 deposit, and signed a contract. The contract said work would be completed in 8-11 weeks. Though this was a long time, I was understanding because we had all just been hit by that deluge storm in early August. I called twice before the 11 week period, and was told that I was still on schedule to be completed on time. After the 11th week had lapsed, I attempted to contact the company - no response. I waited 10 more days, and attempted to contact again - no response. They finally called me back, after the 13th week. They still could not commit to a timeframe to complete my job. Having lost trust in the company, I cancelled my job and requested my deposit be refunded. The owner, Pat, called me and argued with me for 10 minutes. He is the most unprofessional person I’ve ever dealt with in my entire life. He was full of excuses and refused to refund me, as is stated on the contract I signed. Feeling defeated, I asked if we could just meet half-way and give me $425 back. He immediately agreed, on the condition that I sign some legal documents saying I wouldn’t give any negative feedback on his business. I slept on it, and decided to just pursue a claim with my credit card company. I just received word that the dispute is officially resolved, and I’ve been awarded the full refund. After leaving a review on BBB, I saw that this was a common problem with this company. Almost all complaints on BBB, regarding this company, are related to not performing the job and refusing to issue refunds. I urge you to consider any other tree service company out there. I can promise you that, whoever you hire, they will be much better than Priced Rite Tree Service of Griffith, Indiana. DO NOT HIRE.
