Kent from Varment Guard was very thorough in identifying what rodents were in the attic and where they were traveling. He strategically placed mouse traps and poison in the attic. He was very educational on how and why mice got in the attic. He thinks like a mouse! In one week he caught 7 mice! Kent is very professional and thorough. His customer service is outstanding!!! Very trusted person. Thanks Kent!

It went great! The gentleman was out here promptly, very friendly and informative. It was quick and simple. It turned out we didn't need any services to help us get rid of the birds..just need some more time and out they go and then we can place a cap on the chimney.

We have a major feral cat problem in our neighborhood and have been live trapping feral cats and releasing them on a farm. Unfortunately, a skunk walked into the trap. No way were we dealing with that! I called Varment Guard and they responded immediately. They transferred the skunk from our trap to theirs. They are obviously professionals as they were able to make the transfer without the skunk spraying, thankfully.

We were having a deck built, and on a Friday the deck workers couldn't proceed with building the deck after discovery of carpenter ant infestation at the foundation of the deck. Varment Guard was able to get someone out on the next day, Saturday, so then the deck could be built. Bill, the tech from Varment Guard was nice, communicated well with me. Did a thorough job. He answered all of my questions. With all of the rain we had, I needed to have Varment Guard come out about a month later. Mainly for discovery of very small ants inside the home and I had seen a few carpenter ants outside. I was afraid that the treatment he initially did was weakened by all of the rain. Bill came out again right away and put in baits for the small ants inside and re sprayed the outside for the carpenter ants. This was covered by the initial agreement, so no charge with this visit. The small ants were gone with in a day and haven't seen any carpenter ants these past few days. I feel that Varment Guard does a great job and very dependable.

This is going to be the toughest review for me to write because my overall experience was a mix bag. The work itself was excellent. The technicians did all the right things addressing my bat issue and did great work sealing cracks so that this would not happen again. The reason I would hesitate to use this company again is that their office staff constantly made me feel like a deadbeat customer. My initial estimate was $862.00. I paid 600.00 down toward the service.....well more than 50%. The following week I received phone calls asking when I was going to pay an additional $62. I refused stating the I had already paid my deposit and no work had been performed. After some discussion the issue was dropped. I called back and had an additional service added to the work being performed. With tax it added another $106 of work. The final date of service was set. A couple weeks later I received a phone call from the company asking how I was going to pay for the $106 in additional work. I stated I would after it was performed. After a long drawn out discussion and once again feeling like I was a deadbeat customer I agreed to give them my credit card number over the phone to complete that payment. I asked that a manager give me a call so I could discuss my dissatisfaction in their customer service. No phone call ever came. The final work was performed....a bill for the remaining $200+ was received and paid. I can't say how glad I was to have it over with. Its too bad I ended up feeling like it was a bad experience considering the actual work was done very well. JUST PROCEED WITH CAUTION would be my best advice when dealing with Varment Guard.

The first person who came to the house (on June 11th) to look at the hole along the roofline didn't seem to know what he was doing. He told me that it was a squirrel that had chewed the hole but he didn't know anything about squirrels, only birds, so he told me that someone who knew about squirrels would have to come out and do a survey. He told me that somebody from the company would call me to schedule someone new. A week later, no one had called so I ended up calling to schedule the survey. They were able to get somebody out quickly after I called. The second guy checked out the hole, wrote an estimate for repair, and asked for a check (I was told he could not take a credit card), which I foolishly gave to him. He, like the previous guy, told me that someone would call me to set up a time to repair the hole. Two weeks later I realized my check had been cashed but no one had contacted me. I called on June 30th and was told that because of the rain, they were behind and that I could expect somebody no later than the following Monday, which was July 6th. After hearing nothing from the company, I called July 8th and was told they still couldn't tell me when I could be fit into the schedule, again on account of the rain. At that point I asked for a refund. After being transferred to three different people on the phone in order to get my refund, I was told that it couldn't be processed because accounting was not in the office. I was assured accounting would call me back the following day. On July 14th, I still hadn't heard from accounting (noticing a trend with this place?) so I called. I was told that my refund was in the middle of being processed and that they would call me back on July 15th to let me know the status. So basically, over a month after I first contacted this company, I still have a gaping hole in my house and and am currently $189 poorer because they can't get their act together enough to send me a refund. I fully understand that it has been extremely rainy, but most days the rain is not an all day event. I honestly would probably not even be upset if this company had just taken the time to let me know that things were being delayed, but the fact that they took my money and then didn't contact me, even after they said they would, just seems like poor customer service.

They route the call to a fairly rude "sales" person who handles the scheduling. When you have a mouse in your house with children or pets, the timing of response is everything! Their process is based on trying to sign you up for a long-term "service program" that costs thousands of dollars!! Basically, they set a time for a person to come out and analyze the situation...which in my case was a week from the day I called. Far too long for an analysis in my opinion! Then the estimator gives a proposal, which is based on the aforementioned long-term service program. Mind you, no rodents have trapped, and not bait or traps have been set at this point...just a long wait to get a high price. Then, IF you agree to the proposal, they schedule the actual service a few days from that. So by the time you actually get someone working on the rodent removal, it is nearly two weeks from your call. When you want fast response and simple removal for peace of mind, I'd avoid this company.

Update: They came out last year and I was not pleased. They called and explained they would come out again when I needed them to make up for the bad service I had. They came out and went above and beyond for service. Great experience.

I am paranoid about bed bugs and had some suspicious bites so wanted to get inspected just in case. Varment Guard squeezed us in at the last minute and did a free inspection. They found no evidence of bed bugs and it didn't cost us anything for the peace of mind. The inspector gave us great tips on what to look for in the future and was very professional and friendly.

They had the traps out for three days. They were able to resolve the issue. I also had them a couple of years before, and they were very good at getting bats out. I've been very pleased with them. They're very professional and very friendly. They come when they say they're going to come and do what they say they're going to do. You feel very comfortable that they're taking care of you.

It turned out quite well. They resolved everything and we were happy to have the animals gone.

I called April 9th at approx. 8:40am and spoke with a very nice male who set up my service time for between 2pm and 4pm on Friday April 10th to help get a bird out of my chimney. I came home to be here on time for my scheduled service. I waited until 4pm and called to ask if there had been a delay. The male who answered the phone said he would try to get a hold of the Wildlife Manager. I still had not heard from them by 4:30pm and called again. I spoke to a female who also said she could not get a hold of the wildlife manager. I stated that this was poor customer service and felt like I should have been called if they were running late. She stated she would call me back in a few min with answers. She called back at exactly 5:40pm and stated that they were still planning on having a service person come out. I stated that I no longer planned to use there service. I also stated that no one had called and that I was the one who had to initiate the phone calls. She stated "that's not true". I had called twice asking about why they were late before getting an answer almost 2 hours past the latest scheduled appointment time. All of this would have been avoided had I gotten a courtesy saying they were going to be late.

They resolved the problem. They were timely, courteous and thorough.

Bill was prompt in getting to our home. He was personable and worked efficiently in getting the bait traps placed. Good work at a good price.

They got the job done and we have had no trouble with the birds since. They did a good job, were very responsive and arrived on time.

It went great! We do not have any more mice. They went above and beyond for this service!

They were professional and they knew what they were doing. They worked hard and they completed this in about 4-5 hours. They were punctual.

Bee activity declined dramatically.

When I called for serivce I was given a quote right over the phone. They were pretty booked up so it took a few days before they could make it to my house. The tech showed up on time and was polite and friendly. He suited up in his bees keeper type suit and sprayed all around the area where the bees were coming in and out. He said the hive should be dead and if the bees were not gone within a days to call him back and he would spray again. The bees were dead by the next day. I would certainly use Varment Guard again.

Their price was reasonable and they did a good job, but the only negative was that apparently the law requires them to euthanize the raccoons. I wish I would have known that ahead of time.

I never have any problem with them.

They are wonderful, and they are beyond exceptional. I have used them for years. Their service is excellent, they are professional, and they are consistent with letting you know when it is time to come in and treat the inside, which I appreciate. The man that does that is excellent. He is never rushed, and he explains everything. They are one of my favorite people that I use. We pay a yearly service for him to come and treat the outside. I don't have any problems. The person I use is the same person. They very responsive to concerns, the service is good, and the pricing is fair. They let me know after they have been here to treat the outside.

We have signed up for a long term contract, so they come out quarterly. Their service is outstanding! The technician is very cordial and professional and we felt very comfortable having him in our home. The service has been quite effective without any noxious fumes that normally come from pesticides. Our home was not disturbed during or after the process but the results have been great.

Very well, the Tech was very polite, pleasant, knowledgeable, professional and nice.

Everyone we spoke with was professional and courteous. We got an estimate from another company before contacting Varment Guard. Varment Guard was hundreds of dollars cheaper and provided a free estimate. The quality of the work was good and they did not try to upsell additional services/goods. The only complaint is they took a while to get out to us. Would definitely use again.
