Job was well done in a professional manner. I highly recommend Steve and his crew. They did everything as promised.

In a word OUTSTANDING! I called on a Thursday and Steve said he would come by that Saturday to advise. He arrived by 9AM and had an estimate ready that same day. The price seemed very fair to me. He then kept me updated on when the work would be performed which is great to have updates. I arrived home from work that following Monday and it was like the tree was never even there. I had cut a big limb earlier in the week and stacked next to the driveway and could not even tell that had been there either. Hardly a twig to be found!! Steve and his crew even cleaned my driveway of debris and a lot of that was there from when I did my cutting! Sometimes in life you find a business that does things the right way and exceeds your expectations. This is one of those times. A first rate, top-notch job. I would not even think to call anyone else if I ever have any kind of need like this in the future. GREAT work and that's a fact!

We called Steve to look at a sick maple tree. As he pulled up to our house he noticed that our blue spruce also had a problem, which was Rhizosphaera needle cast. He checked out our maple tree & told us it had anthracnose. Steve spent a great deal of time with us explaining the disease processes of trees. He is a very knowledgeable arborist, & took the time to answer all of our questions without hesitation. He did not rush us through the visit. Steve was very honest & didn't take advantage of our lack of knowledge of the trees fungus, as he stated it was too late this year to treat our trees, that they need to be treated in early Spring. It is very refreshing to know that there are still good people that care & don't take advantage, & that have the respect to respond to phone messages. We greatly appreciate Steve spending the time with us & will definitely use MENCHHOFER TREE CARE for all of our tree problems.

The limb fell down over the driveway on a Tuesday morning, Menchhofer Tree Care responded to phone call that morning, provided an estimate by that night, and the tree/yard were cleaned up by Wednesday morning. Very quick and easy.

I've been doing this for like twenty years so I've found service companies that I don't have problems with. ?I use them for their responsiveness, and their ability to get the trees trimmed within a decent amount of time. ?Very good overall. ?They're professional, courteous, they're honest about their pricing and they're very knowledgeable about trees. ?They're certified arborists. ?I can't think of anything they could improve on.

I called and requested an arborist come and look at our 50 foot pine tree which had been damaged. Scheduled appointment and no one showed up.

They have me on a schedule to treat my trees. So far my trees are ok..

Went very well. Steve and his son, Steve, worked hard to tie the trees off so as to pull them where they needed to fall. Everything went precisely as planned. I am highly satisfied. Menchoffer's has done several jobs for me in the last several years and have approached all of them with professionalism, skill and some really big, sophisticated equipment.

The project went extremely well. I have used Menchhofer Tree Care three or four times previously to trim, remove, and install cables and bracing rods for existing trees; as well as plant new trees. I have great confidence in Steve Menchhofer's expertise and experience; and appreciate his honesty. I've feel like we have built up a rapport over the years and that it's a true partnership when I hire him because he really listens and respects my opinion. I had approximately six to eight weeks before the re-siding project would start, but I didn't want to procrastinate, so I appreciated that Steve contacted me right away after I emailed him through Angie's List. He came by on a Saturday to meet with me at my house to see firsthand what needed to be done. He said he was very busy with Emerald Ash Borer infestations, but that he would work it in: "You may come home one day and it's gone." And that's exactly what happened. It felt great to check this project off my list.

Like a boss. Menchhofer provided us a quote, were given the go-ahead, carefully cut down the tree, cleaned up all the debris, and left our yard looking pretty good afterward.

The tree removal went well. The trees stumps were cut close to the ground as possible. I will have Menchhofer Tree Service out later to grind the stumps and plant a new tree in the front yard in a better location then where the pine tree or crab apple were previously planted.

I was very pleased with the company's level of knowledge and service. They responded to my request for an estimate within 24 hours and scheduled the free estimate within 2,3 days. Steve was very professional. I was impressed with his knowledge and expertise in tree care. He wanted to know what my expectations for the outcome was. He explained in detail why one of my requests would not be beneficial and continued with a detailed explanation of what he would recommend and why. I have never had a tree specialist for my tree trimming before and it was a good learning experience for me. It took Steve and his helper 1 hour to prune the trees. I thought $300 was a little high, but it's probably fair considering their level of expertise. Both trees look very nice, everything was cleaned up, even pulled out some nearby poison ivy I'd been afraid to touch. I would recommend this company to anyone who is looking for a professional, certified tree trimming/pruning company

The owner showed up on time and provided his expertise to help us solve our tree problems. He is a bit taciturn, but quite knowledgeable, which was what we needed. With the thinning, our pear tree has survived the winds while many neighbors' trees have not. Our new paperbark maple is doing well in the spot where we removed the redbud. His advice on picking the right tree for the location was very helpful. If we had gone to him instead of the big box store 10 years ago, we would have a healthy mature tree now instead of having to start over.

I used Menchhofer Tree Care last year to take out some trees that had died. I was impressed with their work, so decided to use them again this year to spray my remaining trees for Zimmerman pine moths and to also fertilize those trees. The pine moth spray needed to be done in April to be most effective, and they were able to fit me in right away. They also got the fertilizing done very quickly. Most importantly, they were very patient in answering all the questions I had. I would definitely recommend them if you need tree work done.

the contractor did what he was contracted to do on time and cleaned up after himself

I initially contacted this company in July or August - I never received a date and contacted another company. They too have been unreliable and I still have a dead tree in my yard! Will start looking again in the spring.

I found him on Angie's list and will refer him if anyone needs tree services.

They came when promised and the 2 workers were very professional and courteous. They made sure they understood all that we wanted done and proceeded with the work. All the work was done great and they cleaned up everything before they left. They made sure we were satisfied with the work before they left. They also gave good tips on taking care of the trees in the future. We were well pleased with everything and would definitely use them again. We would recommend them to anyone interested in using them in the future.

Steve and his 2 helpers cut the trees and removed all the debris. They even took down that 5th tree ( largest) that I added to the job on the same day as they did the other 4 trees. When they left, the yard had been cleaned up completely. I recommend Menchhofer tree Service and would hire again.

They arrived when they said they would and completed the work. Steve answered all my questions and was very professional. I would use them again.

Mr. Menchhofer seemed very knowledgable about trees and took the time to discuss how trimming is beneficial for tree growth. However, the overall experience of contact with him was less than acceptable. I scheduled our first appointment with him and was told I would receive a call prior to arrival. I waited around all day and finally called him for an ETA, just to find out he didn't write me on his schedule. So, we re-scheduled for two days later hoping to finally get a good estimate. We had to call him for an ETA yet again and he showed up with no return phone call first. Immediately he came across as uninterested and asked how long we planned to live in our home. He looked at our trees and asked what we wanted him to do. When we showed him a shaped tree a few houses down that we liked he told us the tree was terrible. He then went on to explain how improperly the other tree was cut and if we wanted to have our tree look rounded and full like that, he was uninterested in the job. We proceeded to ask him how he would recommend trimming our pear tree (which is intact and not diseased) and he suggested that we get rid of it completely and plant a different type of tree. When we stated that we would not be getting another tree and were looking to trim the one we had, he suggested flattening the top and trimming some branches for $325. Our tree is less than 20 feet tall and 10 feet around. Not large. The other tree, of the same size, was recommended to have a few branches trimmed close to the house and keep it basic- but he didn't even give us a quote for that work. Although he seemed knowledgable about trees, he was rude and completely unprofessional. As soon as he got out of his car he seemed uninterested and disgusted. I communicated to him on the phone when I made the appointment that 1 of the trees was a pear tree. If he is unwilling to trim pear trees he should have communicated that to me in the beginning and it would have saved us all time and frustration. Disappointed.

The trees were tall and close to the house which required experienced and careful workers. They arrived timely and with the proper equipment to do the job. The clean up was great. They were very professional and I was pleased with the results.

The owner came to the house and reviewed my trees.He advised that the trees were in good shape and did not need anything for their health. He advised he could cut and trim, if needed but, nothing was needed at this point for their health. He charged nothing for his time. Yes, when work is needed on any tree or any other landscaping service, he will be my first call because of his honesty and integrity.

11/8/12 Called Menchoffer about an estimate for work. Explained details of what he would do and gave us an estimate. And said he could work late the next week, providing the weather cooperated. 11/10/12, Mr. Menchoffer came out and surveyed the area of tree that was gone and where to plant new tree. We had one in mind, but he suggested the possibility of one in the same "family" but a better, sturdier one. He will look to find one of these that looks the best, cost could be more or less than the estimate. On 11/14/12, we received a call to tell us about the tree he had found and the size. The next day, 11/15/12 he and a helper came and did the work. We appreciated the responsiveness and concern for getting the "right" tree instead of just going with what we thought would be good. He said what he would do, when he said he would. and near the estimate he had given us. Very pleasant and professional.
